  1. Just for reference, all the add-ons for FireFox Ed mentions are available at the firfox site except ‘SEO FOR FIREFOX’ you need to get that add-on here: http://tools.seobook.com/firefox/seo-for-firefox.html

  2. Janet Ford says:

Am I doing something wrong? When I type in either SEO For Firefox or Google Notebook, it does not locate them. I’ve gotten the rest downloaded but these two are eluding me.

  3. Nickv says:

    Hi,

Yes I had the same trouble, but no problem here are the links, and a few others, which maybe useful.

Google Notebook requires a Google acc
    see http://www.google.com/notebook/

SEO for Firefox is at their own site confusingly called SEOBOOK.com

If you dont have it I suggest you get FIREBUG, it is a great tool for debugging your your web pages

  14. nickv says:

tried two posts from Firefox both failed

  15. Di Chapman says:

Loaded everything but SEO just gives me a ? against every item. Perhaps it will take time to link into the system

  16. click on the ? to show as Ed does in the video

  17. Thank you SOOOOO much for the QuickTime file! For some reason, streaming video doesn’t work well for me and you’ve saved me hours of frustration by including this. Hope all the vids in the challenge will have that option! Thanks Ed. . . .Stephanie

  18. nickv says:

    Hi,
I see my earlier firefox posts arrived …….eventually

  19. Hi everyone. This is a test from a newbie.

  20. Janet says:

Thanks Nickv. I appreciate your taking the time to post those links.

  21. Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks to nickv for posting the links; it saved a lot of headaches for me.

@Ed Dale: Why did you not post the links? For semi-advanced users it is far faster to click on a few links and install the plugins than to watch a video three times trying to catch everything.

Maybe that is just me, though.

  22. PS: Forgot two things.

    1. I also REALLY appreciate the QuickTime format!

    2. I wast trying to offer constructive criticism in my last comment. Please don’t take it otherwise! :D

  23. golfinggal says:

just another person performing a test from firefox!!

  24. nickv says:

    Hi,

Apologies for multiple copies of that list.

I post it once it didnt appear do I reposted over an hour later.

    Now it appears every where.

  25. Pimp my Firefox

Ok, so my Firefox is officially pimped out. Most of the recommended plugins were ones I already use, but there are a couple that are new to me.
Searchstatus is kind of interesting, although in general I’m pretty skeptical of Alexa rankings (see T…

  27. I used the links that NickV gave, since I didn’t have any of the Firefox tool box.

    For clean water everywhere,

  28. Can anyone tell me how to install Firefox so that it doesn’t grab my system every time I log on or receive an email or try to go to the net? I uninstalled Firefox because I couldn’t get it to stop activating and I need to be able to use IE 6.0 for one of my consulting contracts. Firefox was a real pain. HELP!

  29. Ravinsixties says:

    Well!!
Short N sweet, if Ive gotta d/l firefox an use it, NO THANKS!!! A friend changed over to that an he’s had nothing but problems with it!!!!

  30. Ravinsixties says:

I’m afraid if Firefox is definately needed for 30 Day Challenge I’m a non-starter, which is quite dissapointing cos 30 dc looks very interesting. Is it really essential?

  31. Thanks Ed,
This really helped. I have all the add ons.

  32. Jim Miller says:

Ok - Firefox 1 done and now getting ready to listen to #2. I’m doing all I can to catch up.

I was in Sacramento taking the Bar last week and then went to San Diego for R&R.

Hope to be up to speed this afternoon.

Fire fox done, and trying to catch up. Thank’s guy’s

  35. Grace Jordan says:

I downloaded FireFox but I don’t see the toolbar?

I did not choose FireFox as my default browser. So how do I use this FireFox? Do I show and Hide it at will?

I have to be in the FireFox browser to download the “SEO for FireFox”. So how do I make the browser appear so I can use it?

  36. anne gregory says:

hey ed, can’t get past the 2 minute mark on the getting foxy part 1, is there a problem with this? or is it just me??? can anyone else offer advice on where i can hear the whole thing fully?? thanks

  37. Jose says:

wow!!! i new fire fox had add ons but i had no idea how useful they really are.
i am having a ball adding new add ons. oh and thank you NICKV for putting the websites for fire fox, especially SEO for FireFox, that helped.

  38. Peter Horn says:

Thanks for the links Nickv - this was really helpful and saved me hours of searching !

  39. teri vakaki says:

    Hello!
I’m trying to download the seo book. but when i press on click here to download i get the message:
Firefoxt preovented this site (tools.seobook.com) from asking you to install software on your computer.

What on earth is this? And how can I install this seobook?

    Anyone?
    Thanks,
    Teri

  40. Well d ya know you can use Foxy tunes to listen to the 30dc podcast while browsing….

  41. Mboto says:

Hi, I’m new to the 30dc. Found it on Stumble Video late last night. Was up to 3am and early this morning catching up, and I’m hooked. I’ve got to say this is really fantastic. Looking forward to increasing my site traffic. One of the best sites i’ve some across this year, can’t thank you guys enough.

Once more comment @ RavinSixties. Don’t knock programs just because one person you know has problems with it, you don’t know what they’ve done to their computer. I run a pc repair company, and unlike Norton and IE, Firefox is one of the biggest killers of work I know. Everytime a customer comes to me with viruses and spyware, i put on Firefox and i never here form them with virus/spyware problems again. Apart from all the amazing features it has Firefox is one of the best security tools you can use. Be a bit adventurous, and don’t be so quick to knock. Ed knows his stuff, he’s spending his time sharing it with us, embrace it!

  42. Gail Helton says:

Can someone help me? I downloaded Foxfire, and tried to then add the delicious add-on. I keep getting a message that the “xpi” extension is not recognized, and will not let me do the download. What am I doing wrong?
    THanks, Gail

  43. Gail Helton says:

Oh my goodness, this is going to be a wild ride!! I evidently did not have foxfire completely installed when I tried to get the delicious add-on before. I did get it downloaded. I have SO MUCH TO LEARN - but I refuse to panic. Thanks Ed and Dan for all this great stuff!

  44. Ali Turner says:

For those who must have IE compatability download the excellent IE tab extension for Firefox

  45. I’m just starting. The tape ran out before you said which add-ons you
were going to have us use. I don’t want any you aren’t using, and are
going to explaain how to work them, please. I’m zero techi and don’t
try to spin my wheels on every new program bleak that comes out.
They end up screwing up my machine.
    Thanks.
    Sandy

  46. Aliza Grant says:

Let me just say, this kinda sucks. If I had of know Firefox was going to be the official browser then I wouldn’t have dowloaded digg and stumpleupon and put that on my IE browser. Now I’m trying to figure out how to set up my Firefox browser like Ed in the video and there is now how to on that. Trying to remain positive but this is hard work already and I’m not even caught up the the challenge yet either.
