I believe there will always be a place for affiliate marketing in IM. As a matter of fact, a big place. Most of the top Gurus still practice affiliate marketing in one way or another. And granted it needs a plan and work just like any other Internet project.
Most gurus say that affiliate marketing is nice but you also need your own product or products. And I do agree with this. But think of it this way. Once you have your own product created, you still need good sales copy to sell it. If you aren’t that good at writing it and don’t have a few thousand dollars for a good copy writer, you may not sell many of your products.
But if you have found a few affiliate programs that sell well (good sales copy and good product), then I contend that many sales at 50% of $47 (affiliates) is better than almost 0 sales of 100% of $97 (your product). So affiliate marketing is a viable doable still alive concept within Internet Marketing and will always remain so. In the mean time work on your sales copy (ha ha).

Great article BTW.

Wow, I loved this article.
Probably for anybody, but esp. for newbies, it is so nice to “see the big picture” in detail: “Ok, here’s what I did…first this…then this…see how this works in?…ok…so then I did this…here’s why….see?….ok…so then…” Type of stuff. That really helps you “see” the process in your head when you are learning something completely foreign to you….as a newbie you sometimes can get the technique but you don’t really feel that inside you really know the big picture of what you are doing…so this was so nice…I know it was personal, too, and I appreciate you sharing it.
Two thumbs up! Had I more thumbs, I’d give ya more thumbs up!
Cheers!

Yes…refreshing and explicit. I’ve been with ClixGalore and some Kolimbo products for quite awhile on my niche sections of my main site (i.e.: Spiritual, Inspirational, Humor, etc.) yet have little success without doing anything but adding content, and not, not,.. making use of my lists/mailings and promotions. I’m feeling though that the time spent reading emails from marketers lists (Ewens, Sean M’s, Ron’s, Mike G’s, Stephanie’s, Phil & Jane’s, etc.), along with the TDC will be really paying off though. Mostly, I greatly enjoy the process of getting to know more about what I really am doing to provide more to my visitors, lists, etc. Taking my time, yet hoping to get more ‘action-steps’ taken soon. Not enough hours in every day, and am greatly appreciative of being able to go back to Day 17 and doing the steps thoroughly (including writing articles)!. Thank you so much again for all.

traffic affiliate programs…
Every morning as people wake up and make the commute to work, many dream of the day when they will finally work forthemselves. Every time the boss lets someone know that they must give up their weekend plans for the good of the company, people contempla…
