What’s This Then….
The Thirty Day Challenge Charity Auction will start in a day or so and Dan has just submitted his offer
Here is the Mysterious Text….
“One cream envelope tied with black ribbon and finished with a gold wax seal.
The envelope contains a very special item worth over $10,000 which will change your life forever.
”
I truly have no idea what it is
It does look very fancy pants with the whole seal thing etc…
As a reminder I’m donating “The Guitar” - the guitar that has been the “Lucky Rabbits Foot” to both Frank Kern and Myself…
Here is one of the dodgier looking pictures of me and the National Resophonic Delphi Deluxe we are calling
THE Guitar
The bidding details will be up soon - Challengers from around the world have donated some amazing items and all the proceeds are going to Dan and My favourite charity - Kiva (mainly, because it’s not a charity…)
Kiva - based on the micro-lending process first developed by Muhammad Yunus The Nobel Prize winning founder of the Grameen bank is brilliant and goes to the heart of what we are trying to do here. Give people a new option by having their own business.
As soon as I know the auction details I’ll let you know.
Now I need to work out what’s in that envelope - the suspense is killing me !
Ed
PS There will be a new lesson up at the end of the week and look out for a Dan and Ed Podcast live from London next week where we announce the winners and prizes for the Thirty Day Challenge
PPS There are a bunch of Thirty Day Challenge winners that have not been added to the Hall of FAME yet. I’m pretty sure something died in the office here during the 30DC and I am cleaning my office. Just be thankful they have not added smellovision to the Internet!!!

Hi Ed,
It’s amazing how quickly something can become a habit. I must get back to applying the techniques learned over the thirty days. Looking forward to the new lessons.

I think I have been working harder now that the challenge is over (and in the U.S. we’ve had a nice holiday weekend) - I’ve really just started understanding everything rather than just doing it — It is actually sinking in.
Now, as for that $10,000 envelope…. or that guitar….

Even though I did not earn $10.00 Ed you and your crew are the best internet teachers ever God bless the experience was simply wonderful, Love that guitar.
September 3rd, 2007 at 9:33 pm
I feel I got informed too late to do much with this.
I’m totally in a fog. If there are any charitable fog clarifiers out there that could take a lass by the hand and help her thru this challenge, I’d greatly appreciate it. I got stuck trying to do catch up.
I didn’t get on board until the 3rd week of August and just too far behind you all.
September 3rd, 2007 at 9:39 pm
I Love the “One cream envelope tied with black ribbon and finished with a gold wax seal.”
It looks very…
I can’t think of the word I’m looking for…
“Classy” maybe?….
“Presentable”…
“Buzzworthy”….
The list can go on and on…
Just looking at it makes me drool…
I WANT IT. =)

I first heard of Kiva only three days ago on Oprah. As I watched the Kiva segment, I immediately knew I want to contribute to this organization (via a Positive Promise). It’s a perfect fit. Today, I see your post and here it is again! Hmm…
September 3rd, 2007 at 9:51 pm
Barbara;
I too started really late. Have not set up any blogs or site yet. Haven’t even finalized my keywords. But the info is still all there and the facebook groups are still going for those of us who need to work at it longer. So do not give up. If you are at all interested, go back to the beginning if you must, to clarify things. Take it one step at a time. If you haven’t joined a group, do so for support and assistance. Ask questions. You are not alone. Believe me, from everything else I have seen on the net, this is the greatest, most generous opportunity, and not one to pass by-even if all you want to do is learn about web 2.0 and how you can use it.
My heartfelt thanks to all who have been involved. May you be repaid tenfold for your generosity of time and information!!
September 3rd, 2007 at 9:53 pm
Barbara… This is more of a personal challenge than anything else…. Take a break, get ready (via pre-challenge stuff), get a calendar, and then come Monday… GO FOR IT!
Start your own 30 day challenge starting this Monday coming. You’ll have from now until then to get your computer ready per the pre-challenge posts in this blog.
Follow along in the training material as if Monday, September 10th is August 1st!
There’s no need to rush, take your time. In fact it’s your challenge so if you want it to be a 60 day challenge, then go for that too. The important thing is to set a time-frame that you’re comfortable with and then TAKE ACTION!!!
~Shannon
September 3rd, 2007 at 9:55 pm
Ed,
I know what’s in the envelope and it’s worth more than $10,000.
It’s the answer to who put the squirrels on the Second Life Island.

September 3rd, 2007 at 10:05 pm
Amazing - I also started really late and there’s enough material here for a year . . . or more. That’s the problem when you’ve got a full-time job and you’re also trying to squeeze in every spare minute building a Web business. Thanks to Ed and the guys for their generous gift to the world.
PS I made my first $1.45 today, confirmed 2 new link exchanges and am seeing traffic increasing. Exciting stuff!
September 3rd, 2007 at 10:22 pm
I am sorry I missed out on the entire thing!
I am working from a ’shared’ personal computer and was not able to ‘download’ much of anything! I couldn’t get the 1st ‘mini-movie’ or whatever it was!
I am no further than I was 30 days ago– disapopinted; really down, but not out! I shall persevere!
September 3rd, 2007 at 10:24 pm
Hey Ed,
I discovered Kiva a few weeks back and I don’t know How, but I was thrilled to bits with the whole concept as I have been a fan of Grameen Bank for years and watched them Grow.
The true beauty of Kiva.org is it is a gift that keeps on giving….something I trust my family and friends will appreciate as I make gifts on their behalf over the next few years.
While the Coolest Web 2.0 hints, tips and tricks on the Planet have been Fantastic. For me the real value of the TDC, has been the people, the whole Immediate Edge Faculty, all the TDC participants and a few strays as well along the way.
Thanks very much….Cheers, Brendan

WOW !
I’m so late getting into this……….. The thought of taking my own 30 day challenge is interesting………. but I don’t feel confident…….. I’ll give it a bash…………..but I’m also glad to hear I’m not the only one……… I definitely need help here cos I feel like I’m way out of my depth………… The whole concept generates excitement……… I’m going for it………yes I am …………..I’m gonna give this a HUGE go………… Thanks friends !!!………Victoria

I’m 100% sure it’s Dan’s pretty pink thong.
September 3rd, 2007 at 11:18 pm
Hi Ed,
Take as much joy in cleaning that office as you did shepherding the 30 Day Challenge. For what you do in cleaning that office paves the way to build a new challenge. Amidst the “debris” of this one lie important gems for the next challenge.
Ed, Dan, and all the challengers: you may achieve (or have achieved) great success in jobs, careers, Internet businesses. But, none of you will achieve anything as meaningful as you have in the 30 Day Challenge. The forum and Blog posts by all (even the calls of despair or for help) provide ideas for starting or carrying on with setting up products or a service. This far surpasses the concept of “giving back”. It takes to a new level the idea of stretching out a hand to pull a struggling friend or fellow participant over the barricades encountered.
Thank you all for your willingness to maintain this challenge. I am still encouraging people to visit this website and to register for the true, down-to-earth guidance needed for Internet Marketing.
Regards, and let’s try to stay in touch,
Glen

G’day! Excellent that this auction is taking place to raise funds for a good cause. Auctions are another internet lesson learning tool that is good to practice with. My best to all of you and I look forward to the mini-lesson on Friday.
September 3rd, 2007 at 11:57 pm
We’re all aware of — and grateful for — the phenomenally-effective team effort that made the 30-day challenge such a success. And yet, it was your unique and bountiful gift for “connecting” with us as individuals
that was the “secret sauce” that bound us into a community. Thanks yet again, Ed. You’re irreplaceable.
I’m awaiting more details about the auction.

G’day Ed
The training over the 30 Day Challenge has been stunning. I’ve worked on many IM courses before but nothing has sparked me like this.
Prior to this, I thought Web2.0 was all about drunken students showing videos of naked body parts but I have learnt so much and can see different ways to use it commercially. I will probably not be creating lots of my own products from an “info marketing” perspective because I can see a way to use W2.0 in a different route. It is the final piece in the jigsaw for the direction I have been considering so thanks for giving me clarity. You have of course given me huge amounts of fog too but that will clear as the sun rises or is that sunburst (a guitar metaphor).
Massive thanks to you, Dan, Caro, Innes, Lisa, Mike and all the other folks who have given so much.
Truly a wonderful gift to people everywhere.

Nice one and very brilliant concept, i haven’t heard about kiva or Dr. Yunus, till now. I was blown away about this brilliant concept of microfinance na di beleive the world will be a better place if we take this concept and apply it in our personal giving life. Ed & other members have just apply this concept by hosting the TDC, becos u r employing a novel and no-cost concept to empower people to make money online. what u now do with the money is upto the individuals who had benefitted from TDC. I am just starting my own TDC now and as the money started rolling in i will be contributing my own quota to make the world a better place.
September 4th, 2007 at 6:46 am
The single best thing I’ve ever experienced online. Ed - you and all of the team rule and have made me realize the error of my ways this last couple of years or so. That’s right this LAST COUPLE OF YEARS!
What a wild and wondrous journey it’s been - and yep - I’ve still got to go snatch that $10. Great to know you’ll be around for a long time yet … and don’t lose that irrepressible humour!! Dale
September 4th, 2007 at 7:53 am
I am totally thrilled to have found the TDC -the learning is absolutely amazing - the techniques and concepts are all relevant to the current economy. I am still on Day 8 - and just can’t wait to get into it. I’ll be regularly checking in..Good Luck with the auction!

Rock On Ed,Dan Mike, and all the Fab Team! When a show this exceptional is rolling who dares pull out the plug! You have so much more to offer, and we have so much more to learn about Ethical Marketing, taught in
a unique real cool manner we all adore.
This family is led by example of honest, happy, generous, enlightened rockers who took the shock insults from the ignorant and walked above them like the true winners they are.
Thank you so much for the knowledge I and all of us are eternally gratefull you are keeping the challenge alive.
Gary Halbert your Late Mentor friend is looking down proudly saying to God ,Look at my Boy!
Now that is following in the footsteps of a Great Teacher!
God Bless Ed,Dan,Mike, the whole team, and ofcourse the Absolutely Wonderful Family bonded together and
totally committed to learning and carrying forward this Giving and not Grabbing example,in this House there
is no room for Black Hatters!

Now, that the challenge is over, Ihave nothing to do except look at the accomplishments made.
You and the “team” have made such a HUGE difference in the way I first anticipated things and now.
You have most definitely impacted my life for the better. I am only sorry that I had to leave the course for the last two sessions due to MY heart attack.
God Bless You and Keep You.
September 4th, 2007 at 9:09 am
Thank goodness, more from Ed and Dan. Either that or I have to start a 12 Step Group for lonely 30DC members! I am excited to start again. My keywords worked in theory but did not produce money. So as Ed says, move on and find new ones. That’s my task. I feel much better prepared and more knowledgable. Like the previous poster who thought Web 2.0 was naked students, I considered it an electronic STD. Either way, count me in (with clothes) and making money.
September 4th, 2007 at 9:52 am
I have not made my $10 yet. I have started going over the material again from day 1 and plan to have a new project soon while I nurse the first one.
Funny I check every day for new material. Now I have peace of mind until Friday …

I am so glad my team has decided to stay in touch and continue to learn and grow together. and even as this years Challenge comes to a close, I have told other’s about it and have encouraged them to take advantage of the training while it is still up!
Smooches to Ed, Dan, Rob, Caro, Mike, and all of you who helped keep the true spirit of the Challenge alive while evil forces sought to destroy the goodness here!
My Best,

Hey Dan and Ed,
I’m all teary-eyed too but moving on — to the Second Life. I did accomplish a few bucks, $5.90 on a few old ebooks left in a ‘closet.’ I sold em on ebay — 2 year old ebooks but many are still newbies in the new age.
A far as the envelope, I imagine one lucky person’s name is on an Australia plane ticket - the winner of the 30 day challenge. I still feel like a winner just being part of this garantus Internet event, Thanks too All!
On the envelope, I could also assume its a huge donation to very worthy cause. Micro-loans have been a great boast to Third World areas where even owning one’s own goat is considered good equity.
See you both in the Second Life,
Glen (gwBig)

Ed et all… Thank you so much for your patience and dedication in teaching all this info in an almost “for idiots” format so beginners like me could understand!
My PC almost died in the 30DC process, so I bought a Macbook. Love it, but I am like 1 week behind since I am still trying to understand how to use my new computer…even debating on what email service to use, to buy office for Mac or not…!!!!????
Anyway…I also wanted to tell you that before the 30DC I spent many months searching for a good way to learn internet marketing (IM). Just found bits and pieces of info, and LOTS of junk! I found many of those so called “IM programs” that after researching on the web and passing all the self created pages with “amazing results reviews” found out some real info with people complaining about not learning anything and not being able to get their money back. I also found many of these other programs where you actually can make a lot of money by becoming a scammer yourself! Could never take that route!
So, I realized that it is much easier to find just a bunch of crap created by some of the most famous web scammers than to find the real deal delivered by decent people like you and your team!
Now, I am really motivated to make some money online! First of all to pay for my new MAC… and secondly but mainly, to reach my ultimate goal of making enough money so my husband can retire!
Thanks for extending the challenge, for all of your support, for being decent and upfront, etc, etc… And please, if you ever want a review for any of your programs or products, I would be the first in line to volunteer to write the best review I could possibly write. After what I have seen and learned during the 30DC, I am a believer!
Cheers,
Teresa

Though I have yet to make my first sale, I’ve learned an incredible amount of very useful stuff, and I’m suffering from Thirty Day Challenge withdrawal too! I miss the daily podcasts, even though I’m still a week behind in implementing all the day 27 forward information! My lack of sales is directly due to violating at least one of the top 5 biggest mistakes people make. I’m also still working on fixing those. I made some really big ones on my first niche blog.
I took the long weekend off. My yard was overgrown and needed mowing, and my son was complaining of no clean underwear in his drawer. He actually had to dig through laundry baskets of clean clothes, poor baby.
Now that I’m physically worn out, but mentally refreshed, I’m back at the computer.
I love it that Kiva is the benefactor of the charity auction. To me, there is no better way to bring long-term success to people than to help them help themselves. Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.
Thank you all for the entire 30DC experience and the wonderful fact that it will go on continuously! I am so looking forward to Friday’s lesson!
Sincerely,
Sherri

Thanks to all concerned for this wonderful feast of knowledge, Like others, I have a full time job (worse as I work for myself with long hours) and have only got up to day 13 where most of my “niches” are turning to dust at my feet but, I do want to get into internet marketing as my work is very phyisical and I am not getting any younger. I need this to get an income in a less phyisical way.
So, I am not giving up and I encourage anyone else in a similar position to keep right on going, Ed and Dan have said the 30 DC site will stay active and I thank them both and everyone else invoved for al their efforts and generous giving of their time,
Good luck to all, may you all prosper in the fullness of time
Regards
Paul

Hi Ed thanks for everything, you guys did a terrific job!! I was listening to you play that guitar, and since I am a musician myself I have never heard anything so incredible in my life. That guitar is amazing, it is really unbelievable. Ive really enjoyed this challenge, and look forward to more. I like your guitar lessons as well. Cheers to All Greg Eagle.

Hmmm….what could it be??? A website he built that makes 10k a year? hmmmm….a mystery!! (I love a good mystery, don’t you?!)
Dan–congratulations on making such a spectacular offer for such a good cause as Kiva! That’s fantastic! Thank you!
September 5th, 2007 at 2:36 pm
Hey ED and Gang,
I absolutely love this whole training experience. I started late along with some of the rest but I’m on day10
today and I’m so very excited. The information and teaching I’ve received so far is fantastic to say the very least. I want you to know that you’ve made a friend for life. I hope that one day I can repay you all for your
generosity as I have been searching for you and your information for literally years. It’s like going to internet marketing heaven. Thank you, thank you, thank you sooooo much!!!!
September 5th, 2007 at 3:30 pm
OMG!! I have/had never heard of or read anything from Muhammad Yunus or known anything of Kiva. When I make it to the ‘Hall of Fame’ and even if not, I will be reading and supporting these folks (as well as any way that I could yourselves) in the near future! I felt all along that there has been something quite special about you folks, and so different from so many in IM!!…this only confirms it more. In my heart of hearts, you have warmed mine greatly…..thank you immensely for all and all that you are doing. From a fellow guitar player/music lover of 35 years also….and a Virgo.
September 9th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
….I don’t think it will change my life….I can buy a watch for that price……….
September 9th, 2007 at 11:41 pm
Philip you can? That’s incredible! Wow! So then WHAT did you donate?
If $10,000 is nothing for you, I can’t wait to hear.
This is exciting!

The wax seal on that envelope looks suspiciously like the one on “The Secret” (but perhaps they all look like that…..)
but I hardly think its Dans pretty pink thong - although it could be - stranger things have happened - might be a nice eBay auction item…….. but $10,000? hmmmm
