We’re Baaaaaaaack……..
Hi Gang
Where has the time gone!
Today marks the first day of the new Autoresponder series. Getting an Autoresponder makes it easy to collect names and email addresses for people who are interested in your niche. As will become obvious over the next couple of days - This will be vital…
WARNING
This will cost you some money. During the Thirty days of the challenge we showed you how to make money without spending a zac, nada, nothing. Hundreds of you have now been successful doing this.
There are some things that we will be showing you post the thirty days that you will have to pay for…
As always - there will be no affiliate links - so you know the only reason Dan or I would recommend something is because it works and we tested it.
In Fact, Aweber is exactly the same service we use to keep track of everyone in the thirty day challenge.
Remember, You only want to start doing this once you have a site that has started making you money - there is no point doing this work until you have found a niche that you want to run with.
This video is part 1 and is narrated by a very special guest from the 2006 challenge
Im afraid there is no download for this particular video ( I just spent the last couple of hours trying so you will need to watch it on the screen.
If your on a slow connection you may want to start the video, hit pause and go grab a coffee
So without further ado

Hey Ed, when can we expect the award ceremony to take place?

Hi ed and co,
I’m glad that this has started up again.
I’m going to be requiring that some of my key Virtual Assistants
in my company run through the challnege
That way they will better able to support the clients
we already have.
best regards
Gavin Allinson

Ed,
So glad to see you are still with us! All of your material is great. Any chance you could address writing content a little more? We are writing content for various venues: blogs, ezine articles, and now emails. I assume there are slightly different approaches to each of these (aside from how to technically interact with the content system). For example, how large should an “article” (blog or whatever) be? What is OK to appear in multiple places as is and what is not. How should we handle links and tracking in the various kinds of content? Should all of these “article” pages link directly to our money page, or some intervening page?
Thanks again for 30DC. This material is amazing!

I’ll answer the question concerning software for mailing lists.
There are some free alternatives to Aweber. They’ll work ok with tiny lists. However, if/when your list grows (and that is the goal, right?) you’ll have to migrate your list to a service that can handle the load (such as Aweber). When you do that, all of your subscribers will have to opt in again, and you’ll likely lose 75% of them in the process.
If this is your business, and you’re making money, this is the one place you don’t want to scrimp. If you’re not making money, find a niche that does before worrying about an autoresponder.

Another thing to consider when looking at software for mailing lists is that the most important part of sending someone an e-mail is that they receive it. Aweber is the best in the business for getting past SPAM filters. They have people on staff who are constantly in communication with AOL, Google, Yahoo etc… to make sure that their mail gets through.
There’s also the issue that some of the major e-mail providers automatically dump e-mail from new IP addresses into the junk folder. It’s guilty until proven innocent for some of them

Aweber is amazing! Been using it for a couple of years now. Great with tutorials and info to help the internet business owner. Worth every dime you spend…

Here’s how to download it. It worked for me anyway.
After the video starts to load, hit stop. Then change the end of the url where it says /aweber1.html to /aweber1.swf
Then I got the download to disk box. This was in firefox. You will need a SWF player, or just drag it from the desktop to a firefox window.

Greetings!
I’ve been using Aweber for over a year now and it’s a great tool to keep in touch with your customer base.
With the ability to have your customer double opt in, or opt out at anytime automatically is huge in regards to saving your butt legally in regards to email regulations as well.
Best,
Steven

Is there an alternative to Aweber for those that don’t have access to a credit card? Any out there that accept PayPal - other than EmailAces… tried that for about 6 months or so and wasn’t quite happy with the service, not to mention the fact that you don’t get a lot of options with your account with them.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Kelly Verge,
Thanks for the clarification. I should go for service that is scalable.

As a newcomer to using autoresponders, Aweber confused and frustrated me. I moved my list to iContact.com and am delighted with the ease of using this service.
