Only At The Thirty Day Challenge…

Here at the Thirty Day Challenge we pride ourselves in excellent Internet Marketing education, and our goal has always been to give you the best possible service we can. (ok, hyperbole I know)… but… Today Ed and I are proud to announce that we have a new kick ass, killer service available for you guys that will change the way you work forever…
Automated Peer-To-Peer Social Bookmarking
We all know how important social bookmarking can be, and we all know how time consuming it is to do. Ed and I are going to give you the tools to take the pain out of bookmarking forever…
Announcing The New ‘Thirty Day Challenge Peer-To-Peer Bookmarking Network’
First of all I want to say… ‘This is not a spam social bookmarking system‘. This is a huge time-saver for legitimate users…
As you know, it can take up to forty minutes to post your bookmarks. (assuming that you are bookmarking to all the major sites you should be)… You know the drill, go to the site, log-in, post, repeat…. (over and over again). What we are providing you is a way to automate this process… and include your friends…
let me show you how to make this easier on yourself…
Obviously you know how important social bookmarking can be… But what I am going to show you now is a way to take the pain out of bookmarking forever. That’s right. All you NOW need to do is visit the Social Account page which can be found in the Dashboard. (the green icon on the right hand side)…

Nice stuff… Good work Dan, Ed, Innes and the crew.
I’m not sure if there are a lot like me, but I have multiple accounts on each bookmarking site for each Pen Name (character) for each market so that my name is not promoting male yeast infection, knitting, dog training, underwater kick boxing, and so on and to keep things separate in case I ever decide to sell my assets for a particular market…
So, I’m wondering… Can this be setup to add these usernames separate? or will that be an option in the future? or is there a way to setup multiple accounts now?
Just curious.

Remember guys… Dan wants you to create new accounts and not use your existing accounts..
So here’s a little tip for the Gmail users here…
if your gmail is: anything@gmail.com
You can use any combination of these to use when creating your new accounts:
a.nything@gmai.com
an.ything@gmai.com
any.thing@gmai.com
anyt.hing@gmai.com
anyth.ing@gmai.com
anythi.ng@gmai.com

April 4th, 2008 at 9:25 pm
You can use any combination of these to use when creating your new accounts:
I just opened up a new gmail account just for blogging.
Is there a reason why I should alternate the email addresses that way if all I use that account
for is the blogs?
April 4th, 2008 at 10:18 pm
Wow, I started to add my new accounts around 9PM ET, went to watch some TV, came back and now I can’t get in any more? I get the “Oops, we’re not letting any new people in” message?? I WAS in, but since my session apparently timed out, now I have to wait?? Bummer…
April 4th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Oh, and I asked Ed about creating different log-ins for each service and his reply was, “You can use the same one for each service - just make sure it’s different from your normal log-in”, so I don’t get the alteration to the email address that Shannon posted. So, all user names need to be different or can you use the same one for all 30 services??
April 4th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
@Wayne Dan recommended that we create new accounts at the social bookmarking sites. Many of us already have existing accounts.
The post was to save people the trouble of creating a new email address when creating the new accounts. They can use their existing gmail address and just alternate it a bit so the social bookmarking sites will allow them to create the new account.
If you try and create a new account using the same email address as your previous account it won’t let you.
I hope this explains it better!
~Shannon
April 4th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
@Mark… If you already have an account over at del.icio.us with that email address, then yes you need to modify it to create a new account. If this is the first time you’re setting up accounts at these social bookmarking sites, then no.. you can just use it as is.
~Shannon
April 4th, 2008 at 10:57 pm
Ah man I missed out! Registration is closed. Anyone have a list of the bookmarking sites?
April 4th, 2008 at 11:00 pm
@Shannon - ok, that clears it up a bit. I forgot that some of these sites require an email address for a user name or to validate the account. I have accounts already with almost all of these sites so I was just wondering if I had to create 30 new email addresses! Thanks for the clarification.
April 4th, 2008 at 11:08 pm
@Matt…. It’s not the list that was the good part. The list of bookmarking sites are available many places online. What Dan/Ed has offered is a service that takes the leg work out for you. You no longer have to spend hours submitting your content to all these sites manually.
plus they have added a little TDC flavor to it too.
Here’s the list BTW.. I’m sure it’s not meant to be a secret, just normal every day bookmarking sites:
del.icio.us
Technorati
Propeller
Furl
Blinklist
Newsvine
ma.gnolia
Mister Wong
Faves
Simpy
Netvouz
Backflip
Spurl
Ask
Bibsonomy
Dilgo
Folkd
Connectedy
Taggly
BuddyMarks
Google Bookmarks
Connotea
Markaboo
Linkagogo
Feed Me Links
Yahoo MyWeb
Blogmarks
Linkroll

Hi Shannon
You wrote:

You know what, I was just seeking help on this topic.
I have a thread on the forum, under HELP, Using Pen Name(s).
Micronet, Ron has very kindly replied my query. Can I also hear your perspective on this topic.
I’ll like to know how you do IM using multiple Pen Names (characters).
And how you manage these multiple Pen Names when creating social networking and social bookmarketing sites.
Hope to hear from you on my thread. Thanks

Sadly, I was too late to apply…
I am still spending hours in old fashion bookmarking.
Hope to get one more chance

April 5th, 2008 at 9:21 am
Hi Dan,
I had problems during registering to a number of sites that you list in the Social Bookmarking Account:
jaiku - does not except new members;
feedmelinks - invitation only;
blogmarks.net - invitation only;
ma.gnolia - allows to register but does not allow to login;
linkroll - allows to register but does not allow to login;
dilgo - is a PPC and not a Social Bookmarking site;
Faves - an extremely slow site.
April 5th, 2008 at 9:37 am
I did it all and before I uploaded I printed it out. Lucky for me as it fell over as I clicked update. I suppose I will have to do it again, but it is just a case of copy and paste as I used the same details for all of them

cmon guys… open it back up, pretty please I have been dying to see this. it closed on my on friday and then you opened it back up at 5am my time… haha. no fair. ;(
April 5th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Dilgo = Diigo I am sure Dan will fix the link
Also the openID sites I am not sure how to put my details in the tool as it requires a password or it deletes the login details….
April 5th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
Is there any reason not to use just one username and password for all thirty bookmarking sites? It would be easier but don’t want
to do that if there’s some reason it’s a bad idea. Anyone?
April 5th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
Beth that is fine, and for most you can. A couple require the email address as the login.

April 5th, 2008 at 6:27 pm
How is this any different from OnlyWire, Social Marker, or any of the other social bookmarking services? What is the advantage of using this service instead of Social Marker?
April 5th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Thank you again, for always trying to advance our internet marketing experience. You asked us to only put in new account information. Due to my use of Social Marker, which was also your fabulous recommendation. I had accounts to all but one of the listed sites. I updated just the one. Will that be enough?
April 5th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
Susan I think you missed the explanation part that says “Well first off, you need to click on the links below and register new accounts at each of the services.”. You need to set up a fresh identity, let’s call it SusanK.
You can register SusanK at each site with a password, lets say H4rd2r3m3mb3r
so your page will look like this
del.icio.us SusanK H4rd2r3m3mb3r
Technorati SusanK H4rd2r3m3mb3r
Propeller SusanK H4rd2r3m3mb3r
Furl SusanK H4rd2r3m3mb3r
etc etc
April 6th, 2008 at 1:38 am
Ok - phew - have done that … reporting a few error messages, as follows (tried each of them several times and ways where possible, consistent errors).
BibSonomy - repeatedly would not accept the authenticity code… could not set up account
Dilgo - wrong name , should be Diigo - delivered to wrong address
Connectedy - page load error - timed out
Markaboo - 502 error message when attempting first login
Linkagogo - page load error - blank page
Feedmelinks - closed to new accounts
Blogmarks - invitation only - how about inviting us?
Linkroll - fails to recognise username and password on login
… and a dumb question, “These accounts will be saved in your profile”… er which profile is that..?
And thanks guys, this is going to be such a time saver…
cheers,
KarenA

1. Dearly Beloved Dan, Ed, TDC Officials, All TDC Members:

2. Greetings and so lovely to reach out to you again today!
3. All I can Say Is That Everything Here Is Very Good!
4. Thanks for all the effort.
5. One more thing, is it possible to work into this system - StumbleUpon and Digg et al?
6. Just thinking aloud.
7. Remain blessed and a blessing and we shall communicate again soon if God is willing!
8. High regards, –OSF.
April 7th, 2008 at 6:01 am
Dan, Ed - so, will this service let us leverage the love of the TDC or is this just an alternative to social marker?
April 7th, 2008 at 6:12 am
I can’t wait - with 25 sites plus this will same me hundreds of hours of work. The only ones I had a problem with were the following :Magnolia - very odd sign up procedure which I gave up with in the end. Dilgo seems to be a search site only? Feedme links is by invitation only and Linkroll won;t seem to allow registration. I was surprised that Stumbleupon was not in the list or Digg?
Having done lots of bookmarking before using social marker I’m hoping this is even quicker so many thanks Dan and Ed for all the help - it is most appreciated. Just as a matter of interest the best sites for back links for me are Mister Wong, Faves, Netvous,Propeller and Spurl.
Great work and I look forward to the email
April 7th, 2008 at 7:16 am
I just got the email this morning April 7th - ….. however…… I see that people
on the blog are saying that they got locked out back on the 4th! Why send
out the email then??
April 7th, 2008 at 7:45 am
uh, the instructions say “The first box is for your username ” so we entered a username … after reading these comments am I to assume that ‘username’ really means email address. well, we all know what AssUMe means.
thankfully, Dan posts warnings like “But I wan’t to say… we are in beta so expect things to go wrong. (I have warned you)”
April 7th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Dee Dee, click the name of each site create an account. then go back to the 30DC dashboard and put the username and password you create in each box. it will take a time investment upfront to complete all the signups, but this is going to save us time in the long run i believe…
April 7th, 2008 at 9:53 am
Set up as many new accounts as I could (except invite-onlys and Backflip didn’t work), but
after I entered all my usernames and passwords and clicked on UPDATE box, it just cycled back
around to the top of the blog page.
Does this mean I’m out after all this? Pretty please, squeeze me in…
Do we get some kind of confirmation that the info has gone through if it’s working?
.
April 7th, 2008 at 10:25 am
Please set up an auto save or add more “update” buttons throughout.
By the time I got through the page, I had been signed out and lost all the data.
I had made notes which services were actually GONE on the page.
You can mention here that Roboform is a great auto-form filler.
You should also mention which services use the e-mail rather than a username.
April 7th, 2008 at 11:03 am
david
Magnolia allows you to sign up in many different ways. I first tried some video thing which did work but then TDC tool needs email and name so select that that option from the drop down box in Magnolia and click the ‘always use this method for login’ - then it works.
April 7th, 2008 at 11:39 am
Hi, Dan
Thanks for the incredible work!
Unfortunately All of my password of newly created social bookmarking accounts contained ‘ in password.
And your p2p social bookmarking seems to have problem with this special letter.
Could you please fix that? Or I need to recreate all (that’s quite insane :D)
Anyway, Thanks again
April 7th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Also, note the URL and name for Dilgo should be diigo.com
April 7th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
This is pure spamming, of course.
I’d love to see an explanation that paints this as non-spamming.
All participants in this challenge are likely going to get zapped on Simpy.
April 7th, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Hi, Otis
I don’t know if it’s called spamming. It’s may like you submit your site into 30 site at once.
I think Dan should remove Simpy, They’ve nofollow policy (SE will not follow it’s link) and not welcome any use for IM/SEO purpose.
April 7th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
According to Dan, http://www.danraine.com/14/automated-social-networking/
“This is not a spam social bookmarking system‘. This is a huge time-saver for legitimate users…”
April 7th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Lynn Lombardi–same exact thing keeps happening to me. I hit Update and it cycles back to same page with no confirmation….
April 7th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
What you need to do is update it after each account you enter into the form.
Nathan.
April 7th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
For those that say spamming - remember the first rule of thirty day challenge is CREATE GREAT CONTENT. Bookmarking great content is not spamming, bookmarking in one hit rather than manually is not spamming.
In my book, indiscriminate bookmarking would be spamming, multiple accounts by the same person would be spamming, bookmarking crap would be spamming.
April 7th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
Nathan Nonono - thanks for the info. I guess I expected the username and password to disappear after
updating. Now I see it accumulates and shows all.
Lynn

blogmarks
jaiku
Is anyone able to send me an invite for those?
Also, I can’t seem to find where the register link is for Dilgo?

April 12th, 2008 at 4:19 am
For those who are asking questions, one of the biggest helping hands you can give yourself is to read through the previous comments as there is most probably an answer to your questions there.
Not only will you find answers to questions but you can learn a heap from discussions that are going on amongst others. Same with the forums, read, read, read
Wanting to be “spoon fed” is one of the symptoms of those who want to get rich quick, and that is not going to happen no matter what some unethical people (not Ed) will tell you.
So scroll up and you will find that some sites are not open invitation and that DILGO should be DIIGO
Looking forward to meeting all you empowered people in this year’s challenge!

Hi. First of all, thank you for making the tool available to all of us. It’s going to be a great help.
So as for me, I signed up on April 8th and haven’t received any sort of confirmation or instructions. Should I have received an e-mail by now? I just need to know if I need to input all the usernames and passwords again, or if the great unveiling is still to come.
Not trying to be spoon fed or anything. Just wondering if I did everything right.
April 24th, 2008 at 11:16 am
Hi everyone and especially Dan
As it is 24 April and on the social/accounts.php page I still can see all my pass and usernames, I start to wonder what is going on. There is no news on what is about to happen. It took a long time to get all the accounts up and I even missed a few because I was not able to join. In some cases I need to be invited. Can someone invite me to Jaiku ?
Are there any news or at least rumors ?

Yes, I have had mine setup does anyone know a time frame on when this will be live?
May 5th, 2008 at 8:00 pm
Connotea really shouldn’t be on this list. It’s “Free online reference management for all researchers, clinicians and scientists” - which means most 30DC content, no matter how good, is not going to fit. I skipped it.
May 12th, 2008 at 7:25 am
Hi all!
A very interesting question was asked here but never really answered:
“How is this any different from OnlyWire, Social Marker, or any of the other social bookmarking services? What is the advantage of using this service instead of Social Marker?”
Also, will there be a title and description rotator? Otherwise, I’m afraid it’s gonna look a bit spammy to have so many identical bookmarks…
Thank you!
May 12th, 2008 at 8:11 am
I’ve been catching up on TDC vids that I’ve missed in recent months, and it was brilliant to see this announcement about the new social bookmarking tool, not least as it will just save so much time! Just wondering if you have any up-date on this ie, how the BETA phase is going and when it might be available? I checked through the forum for any info but couldn’t see anything so would be great to know.
Thanks guys, as always, it really is awesome what you are doing with the TDC - can’t wait for it all to kick off again in June, much appreciated.
All the best
