What makes great teachers?
Ones that lead by example.
Thanks!

I’m loving this year’s challenge (even more)!
Let’s watch you guys conquer #1 - and learn a lot along the way.
A post-mortem with everything you did to rank higher would be great, too! Kind of an example battle-plan for inspiration.

Interesting, I cant find it anywhere in the Google SERPs, tried with quotes, without quotes, with spaces, without spaces and could not find it using the vintage electric guitar as the keyword phrase like Ed’s screenshot seems to suggest, meaning that only vintage electric guitar is bolded in the SERP listing. If you were to type in vintage electric guitar blog in the search then vintage electric guitar blog would be bolded (using that search the site popped up in the SERPs), but as the picture suggests, only vintage electric guitar is bolded which indicates they used only that keyword as a search, but I tried using the Google US search, and CA searches and nothing comes up (using &gl=us when searching from Canada). Maybe the listing did come up on the first page and no longer is OR that screen shot is from like maybe the 10th page… I didnt search that deep into the SERPs.

OK, just found it, it is on the 6th SERPs page, pretty good considering that some of my domains dont even get into the top 10 SERPs pages. Will keep a watch to see if it increases it SERP rankings. Good thing with the 30DC is that you can use their process to increase your existing Domains in the SERP rankings… I have and one of them is now making me much more money than before!!!

I completely agree with what Tina said, you are setting a great example, your methods of teaching are refreshing, easy to follow, and very informative. I’ve learned more in the last 7 days of the 30daychallenge, than I did spending hundreds of pounds(UK) on other products.
Thanks a million guys, all your efforts are greatly appreciated!!
Regards.

What is the reason why it was indexed so fast? Is it because we put it in social bookmarking sites? or because of wordpress direct?
August 8th, 2008 at 9:21 am
Social bookmarking, look at Ed’s friend feed and you will see where he has been bookmarking their blog.

Mine was on page one, went missing and is back again…., Now to push ie a little higher
August 8th, 2008 at 9:25 am

Who’s Looking Forward To Day 8!…
Ed Dale gets a brand new blog indexed in only 3 hours!!! without even promoting?…
August 8th, 2008 at 9:34 am
It is now at 64…check it out! Way Kool!
August 8th, 2008 at 9:41 am
I don’t mean to be a sceptic, but nothing in the lessons has been taught about SEO or getting good SERP’s. The tool is great, but please, teach us what’s really going on. Please excuse me if I’m missing something.

It is no surprise about the indexing. Most sites, including static sites, with keywords in the domain index with a day easily.
My 2 sites, one blog, one static, both indexed in 5 hours.

Yes but Greg, think about how many people here are new to this game and didn’t know that. Imagine the hundreds of hours of frustration trying to promote a site lacking keywords in the domain and also missing a few other tricks. Imagine those people persevering now instead of giving up in dismay back then.

Frank - EVERYTHING we have been teaching is SEO - we just talk about it in plain english
We did promotion - I used a number of sites to socially bookmark our first post - thats what im going to show you how to do in todays lesson

Wow - not bad! But I think I got you guys beat! I put up a blog on my wifes’ domain and it was indexed 15 minutes later! Google is awesome! And so is the #30dc!!

So cool. I am learning so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am like a fountain bubbling over with good stuff. Thank you, Deb.
August 8th, 2008 at 11:21 am
To summarize it, what he have done is
1. the keyword in the domain name
2. social bookmarking
Am I correct?

Looking good. I did google for it this morning but couldn’t find it but have now.
I’m learning a lot from this and also realising that I already knew a good deal of it but having been applying it well

I appreciate seeing the living example of what is possible using the steps that the team teaches. Thank you!!

Now the trick is to build up enough links, pr, fresh content, etc. so it doesn’t get dropped way down in the index after the Google honeymoon period is over. Looking forward to seeing how to build the long-term standings over time.

Hi Everyone,
I am not sure how good this is, because it is not indexed on my own domain, but I got excited to see my article on the second page on Google today. I did a search for heart monitor watches and there it was. Thought I would share with you.
Digg - Heart Monitor Watches
If you want to workout safely and efficiently there is no better option than owing a heart monitor watch. I particularly like two of the new Polar F6 …

Vintage Electric Guitar blog now on page 5 of google search.
August 9th, 2008 at 8:51 am
At present this is not about search engine results - this was just about getting the site into the google index. Google does things in stages… step one is getting a site to be found. Then later google will start to decide where to rank the site and for what. Plus we’ll be doing a lot more to help it out… patience.

i would like to complain. i dont usually. i signed up for the free trial account at wordpress direct. its been a whole day. and the link to my site still is not working. what a waste of time. i guess thats what you get when you try free stuff. low priority for them im sure.

Just as a “Test”, I followed what the 30 day challenge said and actually put my blog on a Blogger blog… Woke up this morning and all pages are indexed in Google already. The Blogger blog certainly won’t have the capabilities of a Wordpress blog, but it’s a cool proof of concept that you can get yourself indexed that quickly just by following some simple guidelines and picking quality keywords.

HEEELLLPPP Guys I am stuck. I have signed for the free membership with wordpress direct but …!!!!
no shopping option is available. Is there any other way I can put a product from affiliate program on my blog without paying $97.
thanks in advance

I put up 3 blogs, 2 got indexed within hours however the third one is still not indexed and it’s been at least 10 days. I did everything the way I did with the first 2 blogs but something is obviously wrong. Help:)
