Hopefully by now, a lot of you have organized yourself into teams for the challenge, and if you have then you should watch this video I just made which shows you how to use Facebook groups to communicate with your other team members.
Download the super dooper hi-quality version
Even if you are not in a team you should Facebook and join the Thirty Day Challenge Group and add Ed and myself as friends

Thanks Dan,
I was wondering how we were going to use FaceBook.
Hi Dan,
Not sure if it’s just me but the sound level is so low I can’t make out what you’re saying even when I have the volume up to 100% on the video app and on my speakers.
Cheers,
David
Same as above, volume is too low to hear. I hope I don’t require facebook, I don’t need to join. Thanks
Volume fine for me, but I was using headphones. Might make a difference?
Lisa
OK, just downloaded the mp4 to my pda and the sound through headphones is perfect
Yeah, the sound volume is awful for anyone trying to listen on computer, even with headpuones. Dan will fix, i’m sure.
To get it into iTunes, download the super high quality file (and remember where it downloads to.) Then open iTunes, select File > Add File to Library, browse to the facebookgroups.mp4 file, and click Open. iTunes will add it. Then in iTunes, under Library, click on Movies. You should see a thumbnail of the video in your Movies window. Select it, and double-click on the video at the bottom of the navigation bar on the left.
Dan,
I’m sending my 30DC Team an invitation read and sign up for FaceBook, but I’m not seeing exactly how you can take my profile URL and create that as a friend. Can you give us a bit more detail?
Thanks!
-Don
Dan,
I’ve tried everything but cannot hear you, sorry can it be fixed.
Cheers
Alan
Dan,
Here are a couple of FaceBook addons for firefox that might be useful. By the way thanks for all the hard behind the scenes work that you are doing!

Funny - I have no problem
Make sure you have the little volume control in the bottom right hand corner of the video turned up
Ed
Thanks Dan
Volume was fine with me. A bit low till I adjusted it on the computer.
I have never used Facebook before but I am signed up and ready to go. From what I have seen so far I think I am going to like it.
Smiles :o)
Gary
I have to say that I signed up (reluctantly) on facebook about a month ago, and have really gotten a kick out of it. It harvested my email accounts for me so I could see if I had any contacts on facebook already, then I was up and running renewing old friendships and acquaintances, one of which turned into direct business. Cool! I think this Internet thing might just take off
Video was fab thank you - that’s very very useful!
Volume was low - as was Ed’s last video
Had to have my volume (on my wizzy Mac) up to full on the main computer to hear it.
Caro
Hi Dan,
Same problem with the audio for me too … had volume slider in bottom right all the way up … couldn’t hear much. I had to turn my pc speakers so far up they were buzzing
Hi Dan
Same as the above. I can barely hear you. Will you be recording this segment again?
Chantal
Sorry about the volume everyone, very wierd.
Dan

Dan,
Great video, I can see how facebook is going to get alot people involved with this 30 day challenge. You can never have too many friends. I can hear great. I was using ipod ear buds and sound was great. I will start my facebook profile and get set up. Thanks again.
I tried everything, from adjusting the volume on the player, to the computer, to master volume control, and it was still very hard to hear until I used headphones and played it through iTunes. Excellent video instruction, though! Thanks Dan.
Hi Dan,
Looking forward to using Facebook. Amazing to think we can network with people all over the world.
Cheers
Catherine
Wow! You guys are lucky. I got maybe three minutes of very low volume audio spit out at random intervals before the video locked up. Also, I received less than a minute of play on the sign up intro video.
I think I am going to have to punt since I am on dial up in the high desert of California and have make believe support from PC Direct. We are beyond postal service and high speed. Maybe Dan has some magic I can use.
Jerry
I have all volume settings at highest possible and still not understand what’s being said. I’m going to try Beth Agnew’s suggestion. If that doesn’t solve it …. Also, ALL of the videos stop every few words (not sentences). I downloaded the ‘high quality’ and even restarted my computer and still have these problems. Joan
Dan I could barely hear it sound but the video was great. Thanks Reggie
Volume is low for me too. I have have no problems with any other videos but have
always had problems hearing Ed even his Simple videos too, and all the rest were fine.
I must be missing something as you refer to getting us up & ready to go & downloading things to the browser, I don’t see to find these instructions. Can someone tell me where I can find them?
Thanks, Coretta
If all ages are welcome, how do young people use Facebook for this? After all, Facebook requires as part of its terms of service, that a member be at least 13 years old AND in high school or college. So if a 13 or 14 year old is in middle school or someone is younger than 13, they cannot join Facebook. What do we do with those individuals?
Volume was fine for me. Anyone know how many freinds you can add at a time? I think I added 60 and got locked out of adding freinds.
no problem here all good dan.
Great, helpful info. Dan…thank you. I have not yet added you and Ed as friends or joined TDC group yet, but am looking forward to doing that this weekend.

Hope Dan will send out an email when the sound is fixed. I can barely hear this.

The volume is fine now. And a very useful video. I must admit (since I’ve been using FB for some time now) I thought the information would not be useful… but (yes, you guessed) there were features to the ‘Create Groups’ section that I had not fully explored. RTFM would be appropriate if FB had a FM!
Thanks again for a great video… and for allowing new folk to see them again at this late stage - looking forward to tomorrow’s edition.

Cool. Kinda quiet on the voice, but cool. Yeah, I’m very familiar with Facebook and all the others… not quite sure how we’ll be applying it to 30DC, though - maybe I should watch it again
Even the respectable science journal Naturel advised it is a “trigger of some alarm” that the press have characterized this flimsy evidence as “proof” of the big bang (1992, 731).
