We Hear You!
You are part of something extrodinary - The largest ever Internet Marketing training ever undertaken and frankly
WE ARE SURPRISED!!!
We shouldn’t be - Web 2.0 is powerful but seriously - we have more people joinging this challenge every day than took part in the whole of the FIRST challenge in 2005!
We are serving over a terrabyte of data each day - which is crazy.
So our super duper fancy servers have been chugging along at times, so we have tripled capacity and I have even pulled out my old Vic 20 - hey every 3.5k helps!! (Sorry for the majority of you that did not get that geek joke)
Then there is the iTunes thing… This is my fault and for those of you have known me for sometime, this level of incompetence - is completely unsurprising….
Starting in the next few hours all the training will be delivered by the feed that we got you to set up during pre-season (if you have not done this check out the set up iTunes blog posts.)
In fact if you have this all set-up you will get the training first - but dont forget to check in with the training section for any additional notes.
Speaking of Notes - We just don’t have the time to produce notes, so if there are members of the community how want to do so, thats great, but I make four key points (My legal team would call it - conditions).
We grant permission for you to do this as long as
1. People do not have to give an email address to access the notes
2. Your not advertising anything else on the page where the notes are
3. You are not allowed to sell the notes or profit from them in any way
4.You need to link back to the training page for the particular lesson and the main thirtyday challenge page. - http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com
This challenge is a pro-bono affair people are donating hundreds of thousands of dollars of services, hardware and time to make this happen. We want to make sure that same spirit is continued on. We pormised people zero, none, nada, zip “offers” or “selling”. I think thats fair and in the spirit of the challenge.
Just be reasonable - don’t be skanky and we will be cool.
On Video’s - gang these are our copyright and while they are free - we retain all rights (duh!) in other words packaging up and selling them on ebay will result in me unleashing Anil Felcher of Felcher crisis management (For once I am not joking) and you will not be able to breathe for legal trouble. I think this is fair - I have seen so many posts that have suggested that people would pay hundreds of bucks for this type of training - lucky for you it’s free but seeing someone else duped into paying for something that is free is well - beyond the pail.
OK - That should make my legal team breathe easier
Oh and for a couple of you that are hoping that I will cut out the “chit chat” and get down to the “beef” in podcasts/videos etc.
Your sh*t out of luck.
I am who I am and will teach the way I want to (which as a side note for people who want to make real money out of videos and audios - the only way to do it.). My communication training tells me that 10% of you will really have problems with my training style and given the outrageous success of this challenge - 10% is a heck of a lot of people, for you I have this message…
This is going to be a very looooong month.
But if you can put up with all the “hogwash’ that is life in the Dale/Raine households - you are getting world class techniques which NO-ONE is teaching.
I MEAN NO-ONE.
We have been live testing (which we always do - a lot of people don’t - but i could not sleep if we didnt) the challenge process and Rob Somerville (head of the Melbourne Lab and for his sins North Melbourne supporter) actually completed the thrityday challenge and made his first $10 bucks in three days!
You have thirty. Actually 28!
In a few hours from now - you will be getting your Day Three training (this will be around 1pm Eastern time as opposed to 9am - which will be the norm) this will be very easy ( but totally vital) and then you will have the rest of the weekend to catch up.
Thanks for being here!
Ed

Thanks for everything, Ed. Greg and I (BlueSkyBrothers.com) have been looking forward to 30DC all summer. It’s a shame you had to reiterate INTENT…….as if you and your team haven’t already established it.
Your professionalism and slap-stick humor is a rare find, indeed!

Three? I thought it was six?
I’m DIGGin’ everything given to us so far. It doesn’t amaze me that people are complaining, even though they aren’t paying a dime for any of this. Shame on them. One reason why I like doing IM. I don’t really have to deal with people on a daily basis. Haha!
Keep up the awesome work! I’m ready to rock and roll(all night, and party everyday)!
August 3rd, 2007 at 2:14 am
There are many of us who a brand spanking new to this and we are taking you at your word. We are not panicking. We are cruising along with you. If we have a question we will ask. We are trying to do exactly as you say and not anticipate things, or think past the marker you have set. Thank you for making this so manageable and exciting. Thank you for taking the time to do it at all! We are with you all the way.
August 3rd, 2007 at 2:16 am
Well I, for one, am VERY happy to hear that you won’t be changing your teaching style. Like many people on here, I am very busy, but I genuinely enjoy listening to your videos and pod casts. Not only because you’re an excellent teacher that makes learning fun, but I also really like it when you give us the bigger picture and tell us how things use to be, how they are now, and how they’re evolving or slip in an extra tip here or there as you’re walking us through the steps.
Words can’t describe the gratitude that you and your team deserve for providing all of us with this AMAZING opportunity… THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
August 3rd, 2007 at 2:21 am
I listen to the podcasts and watch the videos every morning after I tend to my business emails (customers come first). By the time I’m half way through listening to Ed, I have a smile on my face, which is no little accomplishment for me.
Ed, you can hogwash us silly if you want to. I’m enjoying every single “really, really, really” and everything else that comes with it!
Thanks
August 3rd, 2007 at 2:24 am
Ed and Dan you have made me laugh so many times and that is a priceless gift. Thanks be that you are confident enough in yourself to stick to your guns and simply be you. Because, …you are great!
August 3rd, 2007 at 2:32 am
Loved this post Ed! Informative and honest. I’ve already been sprung as an unabashed supporter
Loving the quality of people, and their posts, in our community too - we’ve got a fantabulous bunch. Every year it gets really really really better & better.

Hey, I think the light hearted fun that comes with this is a really, really, really…. really….. vital part of the training.
Enjoying the work has to be one of the pieces to the puzzle that, when missing, causes some people to fail even though they seem to be doing all the “right” things.
Take that out, and I’m convinced the success rate would plummet. Thanks guys!!!!
August 3rd, 2007 at 2:41 am
All the hard work you are putting into this certainly deserves the attention.
This is a great project. I thought iGoolge could satisfy my RSS needs, but I think Blogline is the replacement.
Keep up the good work guys

I’m saddened this all needed to be said what happened to ‘gratitude’

Hey Ed,
To have you and your team working ‘for us!’ is a real privilege. Don’t change your teaching style, I’m sure I speak for many when I say I love your wit and sense of humor. Being a busy family man, I have to laugh when your daughter interupts your podcasts or breaks your printer…just priceless!!!
Cheers

Well said Ed, you’ve really put the fun back into learning with your entertaining laid back approach. Your podcasts and videos are a breath of fresh air in contrast to the standard po-faced approach to teaching.
August 3rd, 2007 at 3:39 am
I have just come back from a Tony Robbins seminar and he reckons that to get the best out of anything you have to totaly immerse yourself in it. I will be for the next 28 days. your style is great what is wrong with people, they are getting it all for free anyway, stuff the stuffheads and keep on keeping on, well done to you all .
August 3rd, 2007 at 3:53 am
“Then there is the iTunes thing… This is my fault and for those of you have known me for sometime, this level of incompetence - is completely unsurprising….”
Hysterical! Anyone who can take full responsibility for an error and laugh about it in the same sentence has my vote…Ed you are officially my new hero - what class… keep it coming - thanks all for everything you’re doing…
Cheers,
Chris

Hey Ed, I love your teaching style, and I like hearing the sounds of your family, and Molly is a little precious angel, typical child I would think, and I have no problem with her in the background, adds interest and humor to the recording. I would just ignore those 10% who are complaining. There are always some complainers in the crowd, you can’t please all the people all the time, as the saying goes. You are doing fantastic, I’m fascinated. Julie
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:02 am
I’m sure we can not begin to fathom the amount of preparation, work and commitment you have/are putting into this challenge in order to make our worlds a better place. God bless you for all you are doing for us and God bless your families for putting up with you, putting up with us. My heart runneth over in gratitude for this great opportunity. And certainly the feeling is the same towards everyone helping you help us; especially the dear Mr. Dan Raine.
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:10 am
I ate a pie today it cost me $4.00 and that is unusual for me, but the satisfaction I got from it lasted about
30 mins…
I have the opportunity of been able to do the 30DC and listen to Ed Dale every day for another 27 days and the cost is (no charge)… that has to be priceless…
To top it all off you also get to keep all the recordings at…. (no charge)
So……Shove that up your Guru?????
Lets all have the same values as Ed and his troops and grow as one big internet team together and dont become meanie, hungry gutted selfish pigs…..
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:20 am
To those who are whinging about Ed’s phone or his children - get a life - this is the reality of running online businesses-if you dont like it you can leave at anytime - we dont need to know about it, close the door quietly on your way out and “leave the money on the fridge”! (Aussies think long and hard to remember that last quote)
To Ed and the team THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU - you are an amazing group of people who are giving so willingly of your time and knowledge - nothing we could ever say or do could repay you. Please know that the majority of us appreciate your efforts and will tell the world how wonderful you guys and gals are.
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:22 am
Thanks folks, you said everything I wanted to say and more. LOOOOOVVVEEE 30DC and I am so excited about SOMETHING in the Internet it feels like it is new again!
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:22 am
Well done Ed ,
I have has emails from people I introduced this to, saying thank you, so it is all worthwhile, let’s hope the people who need to read what you have written here read it
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:26 am
Well Said Kathie!
We certainly do appreciate the efforts of Ed and all the team.
The banter in the background is what makes Ed - well Ed! (as it is with many of us work from homers!)…..so we should all just get over it and get on with it!
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:28 am
This stuff is already pretty awesome guys and I’ve learned heaps already, just staying focused.
I doubt even if you were giving some people Gold for nothing they’d still criticize it. “Why’s my gold less sparkly than his?”
Anyway, love the content guys … keep it coming!
All the best,
- TRENDS
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:40 am
To be able to learn effectively in my book it has to be FUN! Ed the media you produce is entertaining and insightful, little interludes where the printer gets unwanted attention from little fingers or the phone rings or you get a problematic email all adds to the entertainment! The delivery method works period. If people just open their minds, take a deep breath calm down lose their preconceptions, then maybe just maybe they will get the huge benefits that are going to happen with this.
I for one have learn’t so much already, for instance thanks so much for introducing Stumble it is brilliant!
My family love it to, i’ve found many a site for fun but also stuff to help with finding niches etc etc.
I expected selling sites not a bit of it, or if they are it certainly isn’t blatent.
I am looking forward to what is to come and I for one am putting my heart and sole into this, I want to thank you and your team for what you are doing.
One other thing I have learn’t in life is this it’s the minority that have adverse opinions that seem to get heard much more than the 90% who are more than happy.
Keep it up guys glad to be with you on this journey.
Lynne
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:47 am
Hey Ed Chillll! Don’t let the minority b4st4rds wind you up. They’re not experts - I know - I’ve been wound up by experts. Neville (UK)
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:51 am
I love the style Ed Im sure you dont need your ego swelling anymore. I work full time and have a little one who is always on the prowl for fun! the number of telephone calls that people have with me which include:
“Dont touch that please”
“Dadddyyyyyyy…… Daddddyyyyyyy, …are you????” followed by banging on the door
this shouldnt even need to be said..
i’m waiting with baited breath!
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:54 am
Ed - Your Thirty Day Challenge would have to be the most surprising gift that dropped in my ’skype’ less than 2 weeks ago now and already I just can’t imagine living without you.
Thank you so much for being the happy. helpful, hilarious, honest, humble, handy and harmonious human you can possibly be.
Oops…..slip handsome in there too:)
August 3rd, 2007 at 6:28 am
Thank you Ed for doing what you do … the way you do it.
For the complainers, check out the Thirty Day Challenge Forum, search for “Tao”.
Then take a look at post 17 for a potential solution, if there is demand, I’m sure it can be arranged, just contact Ed
August 3rd, 2007 at 6:40 am
Your videos rock, Ed!! Don’t change them!! Your laid back style helps me as a newbie gain confidence that I can complete this challenge.
August 3rd, 2007 at 6:43 am
I have been cramming all this stuff in for last few days (as most of us have) and I am already starting to make mental connections and see possibilites that I did not know existed three days ago. I am absolutely captivated and I could listen to Ed talk all day.
Somehow I do not think the doubters and naysayers will prevail.
I feel really lucky a friend told about the challenge.
Stirling Work Guys!!
August 3rd, 2007 at 7:11 am
Perhaps the people whining about your teaching style should go find someone else who is willing to do everything that you’re doing for us. As a bit of a techy geek, I have an inkling of just how much work has gone into putting all of this together, and I am absolutely amazed by it. I had no clue what to expect when I jumped on board on July 31st … but wow, am I ever glad that I found this challenge!
Ed, YOU ROCK! Don’t change… we love you
And the rest of the team, for whom we also wouldn’t be here without
August 3rd, 2007 at 7:41 am
Ed, that may have been Your Best Post Ever.
Re-read it. Consider that you’re in the position to make that post.
Put another way: You just played your first set, the crowd is already screaming and, you’re Derek Trucks.
Magnificent to be in the position to author that message!
Good on you.
August 3rd, 2007 at 7:48 am
Just thought I would chip in with the Ed Dale flag waving as well. Having some robot blurting out some urls to look at would make for concise podcasts and videos but it would not be particularly inspirational to anyone, so Ed’s teaching style while informal is certainly for me highly effective.
He is enthusiastic about what he is teaching us and this enthusiasm should rub off as we take the action he is recommending in his teachings. I and others here pay good money to be part of other things Ed is involved in and this is mainly because I enjoy his style of teaching and enthusiasm.
One last thing, what Ed, Dan and Nic teach is effective if you follow the actions they recommend. They know what works and pass it on to you. I know as Immediate Edge has helped me to make money online and more importantly for me has got me developing techniques on my own from the principals they teach.
Hats of to you guys and keep up the good work.
August 3rd, 2007 at 7:52 am
Hi Ed:..LOVE the humour and of course the content…I mean who in their right minds would rather sit and listen every day to someone ‘drone’ on, dryly, boringly…than to have these wonderful, funny, entertaining..AND educational podcasts and videos???? I don’t get some people…
Anyway, I’m so grateful for all you guys are doing and have done..and the format is the best! Keep it up..and its neat to hear your ‘life’ and family going on in the background…
I really look forward to your stuff each day…what a blast this is!
Cheers,
Ellen
August 3rd, 2007 at 7:54 am
Ed: Kudos to you and Dan for making this opportunity possible! In any given moment, there are always those who feel that they’re entitled to more or that they are exempt from protocol. Thanks for making this learning process FUN! Not everyone can (or would) do what you’re doing. So carry on, soldier!

August 3rd, 2007 at 8:14 am
Hi Ed (great Post)
I ran outa comments to read so I guess I could add one eh.
I saw a quote on a friends fridge that said “Some people walk in the rain….other people just get wet….”
So I guess I would say Sucks to be wet eh. LOL
Point being, Attitude is what you make it, and attitude can make or break it.
I am enjoying the challenge and appreciate very much everything that you three (and your behind the scenes volunteers) are doing to make the challenge happen……THANKS!
Smiles
Gary
enjoying the rain eh
August 3rd, 2007 at 8:19 am
Ed, keep it going, love the push back, and the open source attitude. I can’t believe what I have learned so far, already awsome. for some people even free is to expensive. the down home approach is very refreshing.
August 3rd, 2007 at 8:23 am
I’m glad you’re not changing your style. You are great to listen to…
Now all I need for you is to do a 30 day challenge teaching me the guitar
August 3rd, 2007 at 8:41 am
Ed,
All I can think to say is “Amen”.
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:07 am
Sorry Ed, not good enough, I can’t go on. You have a Roos supporter in your team!?! How I be expected to learn from someone who keeps such company?
Only joking of course.
Now if you had a Collingwood supporter on your team however… THAT would be a problem!
Cheers,
Nez
PS: You know how I feel so I don’t need to say it
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:09 am
Vic 20…..that takes me back, Made me laugh out loud
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:13 am
Nothing wrong with having fun. Ed, you obviously enjoy what you do…Keep up the great work.
If you can’t have fun, why bother…?
By the way, my first PC was a VIC 20 (so I got the joke) - Don’t suppose you have a Sinclair ZX81 buried in you r closet next to the VIC? Maybe I’m the only one around here that remembers that one -
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:18 am
Ed, Thanks for everything so far. I’m looking forward to the telephone rings and cat walking in your room during your videos.
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:20 am
Hey Ed, I have a VIC-20 64K RAM expansion cartridge if that helps!
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:22 am
Some people are just whiners, they pay for it they complain…they get it free they complain, they don’t get it they complain. Frankly, this 30 day challenge requires time and if persons are complaining that they dont have the time to invest in the chAllenge, then frankly this is not for them. I am tired of the whining. I love the way the video / audios are done they make me laugh.
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:31 am
‘Fair Dinkum’ Ed (& Dan)! - It’s your ‘baby’ and if people don’t like your teaching style, (bear in mind what you and Dan have put together is of a massive $$$$ value and available for FREE!), they need to ‘rack off’! ;0)
Excuse the ‘Oz’ terminology as I am a ‘Pom’, but some people aren’t even happy when they’re getting great content for FREE are they?
Keep up the great work Fellahs!
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:42 am
Hey Ed, Thanks for all the effort you and the gang have put in to this challenge…. I love every moment of it, especially your style of teaching. Pay no attention to a few moaner who mock your gift; they are jealous of your success. The majority of us are deeply appreciative. I am just waiting with Baited breath to see those pink thongs being modelled!!!
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:42 am
Never Ever stop your chit chat Ed!
Pure entertainment and education.
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:55 am
Thank you, Ed, and your brilliance and generosity for everything!!
Last night as we were going to sleep, I told my husband about just two of the differences so far with TDC compared with last year’s. I mentioned how huge it had grown in participants as a result of the viral factor, and then added, but there are sure a lot of whining, complaining people this time around! Jeff said, I hope Ed tells them to take a flying leap and I said I wasn’t worried, that you would handle it in your own way. Then I woke up to this post . . .
Glad you took care of them!
Keep being the fabulous person and teacher you are! And thanks to your extraordinary team, too!
Cheers,
Linda Abbit
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:00 am
I’ve never commented and usually consider myself a “lurker” (although I’m on a great team: Joe’s 30 Day Challenge Team!!) HOWEVER….
YOUR POST ROCKED. YOU ROCK. THIS CHALLENGE ROCKS. YOUR VIDEOS ROCK.
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:01 am
Ed, don’t you dare even think about changing your style - we love ya the way you are! I can’t believe the attitude and cheek of some people…
As for your terms and conditions, I totally agree and my resource pages have always been free and with no advertising, to follow in the spirit of your amazing generosity. I hope my new site is a useful contribution to what you’re putting together this year.
Keep up the most excellent work!
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:04 am
Ed et al,
The scope of what is involved to do what you are doing for us (for FREE…hello people - FOR FREE) fries my brain. Let some of these whiners pay the cost of delivering just ONE Terrabyte of data and we’d never hear a peep from them again.
To those who don’t “have time” for the extra chit-chat, who can’t continue with the 30DC if there are going to be phones ringing in the background (I about fell off my chair when you shared that one!), and who want only the “beef” - take your sorry, whiney behind to your local Wendy’s. According to the old commercial, that is where the “beef” is to be found.
Yes, for many of us, it’s difficult to make the time to fit yet one more thing in our already busy days, but again, if you want what is being offered here, you’ll do it. If you don’t, you won’t. And THANK GOD you and your crew are as down to earth and personable as you are - like so many others who’ve commented before me - I LOOK FORWARD to hearing and seeing you each day now and surely will miss you come Sept. 1.
My message to all you whiners out there: “Step aside!”
Keep on being who you are, Ed. And everyone else on your team, as well. You’re all leading by example, and setting a fine one, at that. I know the only way I will ever come close to “paying you back” for all that you’re giving us is to absorb it, implement it, use it to make a buttload of money so that I too, one day, will be able to pay to deliver a terrabyte of data and PAY IT FORWARD.
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:07 am
Thank you Ed, Dan & Nic (and rest of 30DC behind the scenes team)
All your efforts are greatly appreciated - the unique approach and personalities of the 30DC team is what makes this challenge so amazing and so worthwhile. Gurus are a dime a dozen - but you guys are honest and real and it comes through in all you do here - from pink thongs to guitar solos to kids singing in the background - i love it and want more of it!
Kathy
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:07 am
I thought it was hysterically funny, especially when some guy moaned that he was far too busy for the videos and demanded the info compacted. It just tickled me pink that he claimed to have no time to listen, but had plenty to type out a good paragraph or two bigging himself up. All waffle and hogwash, basically. So ridiculous!
If people really are that rushed off their feet maybe they need this more than the rest of us - to give them a chance to work smart instead of crazy?
That, or Ritalin, possibly.
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:12 am
No worries, Ed!
It’s all good . . .
Keep it up, this is awesome stuff. I’ve learned more in the last two days with you than I have some VERY expensive courses I’ve taken. I got your geek comment, too. LOL! My husband and kids often say if I wasn’t mom, I’d be a geek.
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:18 am
Ed, YOU are *absolutely brilliant*. I am so sorry that I missed the first two challenges and delighted that I tripped over this one. I have had my eyes open to so many things already. I am having so much fun learning all this–Is this REALLY *LEARNING*?!? Ah, yes, education CAN be fun!
And I don’t know about the rest of you, but that 30 Day Challenge song keeps going through my head while I am away from the computer. Is this the next Rocky theme?
Thanks very much Ed and everyone involved!
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:18 am
Thanks Ed, I could listen to your ramblings all day (actually I do). Your training is first class, i appreciate everything.
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:29 am
I still can’t believe that’s your lawyer’s name…..
Next you’ll be telling me that gullible is not in the dictionary!
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:32 am
Great post, Ed! Show ‘em how it’s done….
How can anyone complain when they’re learning for FREE what guru’s cram down our bandwidth for hundreds of hard earned dollars/pounds/euros/whatever? And then, after you get the DVD boxed set you have to wade through hours of material to make it all worth while. You’ve got to do the work to make it happen for yourself, and sometimes the guru disappears as soon as the check clears.
Yeah, I lurked about after reading some of the whining; wanted to see what your come back would be. I should have expected nothing less than shear professional integrity — exactly what you guys bring to the table. I’m grateful for that… big time!
Now, think about this. On my old Windows-based monitor Ed looks a little like Keifer Sutherland. Hmmmm…. so it’s like watching “24″ every day — only this time its “720″ — that’s 24 hours times 30 days!!! The suspense! The intrigue!!! It’s all there, except for the occasional building blowing up and somebody’s finger getting chopped off… but perhaps I speak too soon…. ;^)
You Go, Mr. Dale!
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:33 am
I’m sure you’ve probably heard this 57 times over, but don’t change the style, Ed.
To those that are complaining about it not fitting into their busy buuusy lifestyles:
I am so completely SORRY that all of this free, complete, cutting edge coaching doesn’t fit in with YOUR timetable! I mean, naughty Ed! NAUGHTY NAUGHTY ED! How could you be so selfish as to take up MY valuable time with Chit-Chat and humour! I am here ONLY to take your strategy and make an instant $10 from it, then make more. I don’t NEED all the rest of the irrelevant information, just cold, hard, methods, damn it!
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:39 am
I’m a Scottish-born Canadian who has been in Canada for forty years, and I’m suddenly developing an Aussie accent! Has this happened to anyone else???
Seriously Ed, keep up the great work. I for one am going to take in every word you say, and MEET this challenge!
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:52 am
Hey, Ed, you just reduced my list of potential business ideas from the required seven to six! ow I’ll have to think again!
August 3rd, 2007 at 10:58 am
Ed, I think the way you do things is perfect. I’ve learned tons from you over the years, and the fact that your a real person, who actually cares about helping people make money (which comes across as completely genuine in your videos and podcasts) makes it all that much more meaningful to all of us.
Keep it up, and those who don’t like the way you do things don’t really have to stay I guess. Just my two cents.

Once again I love starting my morning with my coffee, my computer, my notepad and my 30 Day Challenge!
This is so excellent that I think there must be a special place - SOMEWHERE - for anyone who would complain about either the content or the style of this great effort.
The majority of us recognize an awesome thing when we see it. Keep up the great work! Thanks.

Ed-
that you work so hard to maintain here. Keeping it fun, informative, encouraging, and clean means I can share this experience with all of my young siblings without worrying about what you might say. You’ve really earned my trust and confidence, and I’ve never been more excited about an online competition.
On behalf of myself and every other Texan participating in the challenge, THANK Y’ALL SO MUCH! I’m absolutely blown away by the quality of the training, the professionalism you and your team exhibit, and I especially appreciate the “family friendly” atmosphere (with a single pink exception, perhaps
Thanks,

As someone I know is prone to say - BRILLIANT! The 30DC is the best thing (overall) that I have STUMBLED UPON, and I really DIGG it. The whole concept is absolutely DELICIO.US! I TWITTER about it all day. Thanks.
PS - didn’t I see a Parker Fly in one of the videos? Keep up the GREAT job. Ken

Good on you Ed and team. I count my blessings that I found you.
Why is it in life the dummos always come along and try to knock what others do?
The 30DC is Brilliant Stuff.

I guess I have not been affected by the whining or the background noise. Maybe I’m not reading enough of the forums to hear any whining. Maybe I live in a rose-colored-glasses world because while reading Eds post for today I had No Idea what he was talking about! lol I never noticed the background voices, I thought Ed was being Ed, so his chit chat just seemed normal (well, like he was talking to me!) and if someone talked to me with “just the facts ma’am” type of talk, well, I wouldn’t listen for long.
Thanks Ed and thanks to the 90% that get it
the 10% that don’t… just relax your shoulders, take a deep breath and take the ride - don’t try to make a new ride!

Ed , Dan what you guys doing is beyond compare to what other gurus are preaching out there. The complainers and so-so critics that only purpose in life is to find ways to say crap because that’s what they are. You guys already shared so much stuff that some “guru” will charge arm and leg just to deceive folks who want to make money over the internet.
And for the folks who always find ways to criticize (not even constructive), I think it would be more appropriate just kick them out of the challenge. They’re just such a waste of time and resources to be around folks who are serious of going thru the challenge.
30 Day Challenge ROCKS!!!

Hi there, I am loving the 30DC, especially the “hogwash” humor. Please keep it up
I do have a quick question on Legal Point #2 - No Ads: What about those of us who have Adsense and the like, essentially on every page of our site? Is that what you meant, or were you thinking more along the lines of “buy my product” type of stuff?
Thanks, Marc

As has been overwhelmingly stated in these comments… THIS ROCKS. I am the newbie of all newbies and I love it. I’m hanging on to every word.
a HUGE thanks from me!
To the dream, To the empire. (catchy isn’t it?, I use it as my “tag” line in my blog
August 3rd, 2007 at 12:28 pm
Hello, just wanted to add my thanks. I joined on Aug. 1. I’m so new to this and I’m trying to study copy writing too.
Your pre-season material is blowing me away and I almost have my computer up to speed. (I didn’t have the latest version of Quicktime so I was hearing your videos, not seeing them. I finally have that sorted out.)
You have a great sense of humor which makes you a gifted teacher. Thanks also for allowing us newbies to catch up this weekend.
I’m trying to take deep breaths and stick with you. But you are right on in your comments about me (as a student) feeling the need to go shampoo my hair…

Ed -
I’ve counted myself unbelievably lucky to have “stumbled upon” (what I told my husband at least a week before you told us about stumbleupon) this challenge. I cannot believe I was using the internet and browser so inefficiently, thank you so much for that - and that’s just the beginning. Thank you for being so detailed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched a video again and discovered something I missed the first time (mostly because I was too ignorant to know what you were talking about). I so wish I had found you for the first challenge.
Hey - my 9 month old is messing up my printer every time I sit down to work with your vidoes, so that gave me a laugh.
Thanks for all you’ve done!!! Gail

LOL Suzanne, from what I hear, they may also find “the beef” over at Winn Dixie
August 3rd, 2007 at 1:00 pm
Heii Ed…, always love your exspression and your new kind of Wow’s word that you do in the video and podcast…, eventhought some I dont get the meaning of it…., but the expression and the way you put on saying it give me an easy and relaxing feel…., that kind of feel is what every student in the whole world really really really really want to get from their teacher you know…., ‘n hei I’m an Indonesian that kind of Chit-chat is thing that we will never got from the school…., is adding me a lot of new vocabulary……. :), thank’s Ed keep teaching like that…..
Hei This is All about having fun…..,and thanks god in the way of it you ca make money….., isn’t that relieving…..
Thank’s Ed….
PS: love when you say zero, none, nada, zip……, dont know that kind of word till Ed say it……..;))
August 3rd, 2007 at 1:09 pm
The part I do not like about the videos and the podcasts is I sit and wallow about my boring Canadian accent. Why could my parent not have moved to Australia to raise me so I could have such a great accent???
August 3rd, 2007 at 2:45 pm
Ed, don’t worry people complaining about this and that. You and Dan and your crew are the greatest thing since slice bread!
August 3rd, 2007 at 2:56 pm
Hi Ed. Just wanted to weigh in and join the list of appreciative students! Sadly, there always seems to be someone willing to complain about something. I pity them that they find happiness in so few things and don’t even appreciate the great gift in front of them. Thanks again and keep up the great work! BRILLIANT!
August 3rd, 2007 at 4:00 pm
Hello ed
greetings from Israel, I guess everything has been said, more power to you!
August 3rd, 2007 at 4:40 pm
I totally want to be a part of the team. I need this program to get my product moving.
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:02 pm
Hi Ed, Dan, Ted, and everybody else,
I get here before reading any business e-mails or anything else (3 days behind on those). Once again,..brilliant, and I’ve learned more in 2 days (and the pre-season) than 6 months of e-books, audios, video’s, etc. from other ‘well knowns’. You’re style and presentation are fabulous and have me laughing out loud as well as learning so, so, much. Heaps of gratitude and appreciation sent your way!
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:07 pm
Ed,
I almost fell off my chair when someone quit because your phone rang during a video. How shortsighted! But actually, good riddance to those that would rather complain than appreciate the priceless value being offered. We don’t need that kind of energy in this group.
You are the epitome of what it means to “be yourself.” You combine professionalism, expertise, no nonsense guidelines, and humor. Because of how you put all this together, you are believable - you bolster confidence and inspire to action.
My screen name should have been Non-techie Tillie. With your great training, in the last 3 days, I’ve posted, instead of lurked, communicated in Facebook, setup up and used Stumble upon, delicious, Bloglines, etc. This alone has been absolutely priceless - but that only sets the stage for 27 more days of activity. An earthquake could try to interrupt your video, and I would stay glued to your every word.
The best part of all this is reading the posts, laughing to tears with the funny ones, and realizing what a great group of participants we have in this challenge. I believe the consensus is - “naysayers, fall into line or simply quietly close the door as you leave this outstanding group. It’s a very a simple choice with life changing consequences.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for providing this AWESOME experience. You ROCK and so does the team behind the scenes that made this possible! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!
One last thing - THANKS for making download versions easily available!
To total team support and success!
Sunny

Hey Ed,
Well said, mate! I have been looking forward to this since pre-season and I know sometimes little kinks pop up and you just have to go with the flow. Thank you Ed, Dan, and everyone involved in some way or another in putting this together.
As we say in Mississippi ( USA ), ” Ya’ll ” are the best.

August 3rd, 2007 at 6:00 pm
I just wanted to tell you I’ve already learned sooooo much! I think your team is fantastic and your teaching style is great. Thanks for all the free training, and as they say around here, “Ya’all ROCK!”
August 3rd, 2007 at 6:12 pm
You look and listen Thanks ED for doing it your way
August 3rd, 2007 at 6:23 pm
The people who criticize Ed’s conversational style in the videos and audios are not clued in to what Web 2.0 really means. It’s Ed’s show and I’ll let him explain it — which he does masterfully — when he reaches that point in the training, but I hope you get that his style is exactly what makes him so successful.
He is a role model in every sense of the word. He is also proof that you can do this and have a life too! Same for Dan and Nic — they are giving us all this, and still enjoying life. I am so impressed, and sincerely grateful to them all.

Good stuff keep it coming…
August 3rd, 2007 at 11:02 pm
Ed, I can’t imagine people who are so miserable that they have to complain about nothing! I laugh so hard in
the morning when I tune in half-awake and hear “the Song”! It’s not just the info and the organization that are
wonderful but your presentation of the materials is brilliant! I appreciate your cheerful personality, your sense
of humour and your lovely Aussie accent! I know you have a terrific team too. It’s just magnificent that you and
they are doing all this for so many of us and for FREE!!!
August 4th, 2007 at 1:47 am
I want to say, I appreciate all you and your team are doing. I feel you are a God-sent. My angels in disguise. I think your presentations of material are exceptional. You put my learning experience at ease. I can’t believe I’m getting all of this for free. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Hearing a phone ring in the background, or a child wanting a movie makes me think, ‘Thank God, this person is real.’ To stop what you’re doing to, as you said, ‘put up the shopping’ shows me a person that knows responsibility.
Your presentations, to me, are like you’re talking to a friend. To be invited into your home and family and treated like a friend, lets me know this is a person to be trusted. Thank you for this. I hope to one day meet you all.
I’m sorry if this post is too long, but I have to get this off my chest.
People seem to get ruder every day. This is sad. I can’t believe someone tries to be nice and get rudeness in return. How rude can it get for someone to try and tell a person with a gift how to present that gift. If you don’t want the gift, refuse it, don’t try and change it.
For the person who thinks someone on a team would try and steal ideas, let me say this. If you get ideas in any form, you can consider yourself copying or, as you say, stealing ideas. You were not born forming ideas. You were born learning. All ideas are formed from what you see, hear or experience.
What would make you think your ideas are superior to anyone else on a team. If, in fact. you are talking about the presentation of the idea, the same applies. If your presentation are going to be that great, you don’t need to be here anyway.
To me, the whole concept of teams, community and social networking comes down to one thing. TRUST! If you can’t trust such a small group, how in the he** are you going to trust being on the internet.(Better not put up a web site, someone might steal your idea.)
My thing is if you can’t trust four to six people, for thirty days, why would you think someone should trust you with a purchase?
For the people who don’t want to be on a team, I will say, I understand some of this. I do my best work at
3 A.M., when everything is quite and I’m all alone. But, now let’s get real! You were told this would be a team effort and, in fact, would be done with teams. Why you would not be willing to give up thirty days of your lone ranger attitude, for something given to you for free, is surprising to me.
If your job, time or responsibilities are your reason, lay it on the line when you join a team. Trust them to understand. If they don’t, find another team that will. We all have responsibilities. At some time or another, we will all have this problem. Why not try it? It’s only thirty days. You can always drop out of a team, but you can say you tried. It may surprise you.
And finally, for the person who rudely said, ‘ You are doing this to make money’. What’s your problem? For one, you are not paying for it. You are here to learn how to make money. Unless you are going to give all you ever make to a charity, why would you worry about or begrudge anyone, giving you something for nothing, the right to make money.
I hope they are making money for what I’m getting for free. And if they are, it is none of my business or yours. I, for one, would like to learn how to make money by giving something away.
Don’t look a gifted horse in the mouth, enjoy the ride.
Forgive me for such an outburst, but I just get pi**ed, when people are so rude.
August 4th, 2007 at 8:02 pm
I am surprised that anyone would complain about anything. The time, effort, and content of the Challenge is unbelievable and free for goodness sake.
Some people don’t get it, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
Keep up the great work guys, this is fantastic.
Cheers.

Help!
Where can I find the Pre-Challenge stuf?
August 5th, 2007 at 9:26 am
I can only echo all of the above and once again I want to say…
Thankyou very much for sharing your knowledge, insight, enthusiasm and spirit with us!
How very very impertinent for people to even think that you should teach us in the ways that they prescribe.
I would have been delighted to meet you guys on the first Challenge.
Perhaps we will meet some day!
Hope so,
George
PS My first computer was a Sinclair ZX81…couldn’t really make head or tail of it at the time… Now we have macs…
Much easier…

Dear Aussie!
Just be exactly the way you are now my friend
And please - these good-for-nothing “this has got to get serious” folks can just bugger off as far as I’m concerned. Getting a life, or at least a smile on their faces would be a good start …
I mean, we get all this for free, and some still have the nerve to complain? Wow … I’m speechless.
We can always discuss what is fun and entertaining, the main point is that it is real, down to earth, from the heart and human. And that my friend is being over-delivered - “Really, really, really” over-delivered!
If you change your ways I will personally travel to Australia and slap your naughty behind, you hear!
Rock on bro!
August 5th, 2007 at 2:13 pm
If you change your ways I will personally travel to Australia and slap your naughty behind, you hear!
Rock on bro!
I’ll go with you and help!
That’s 2 against 1. If I were you, friend, I’d stay the same.

Ed, words can’t describe how grateful we are to be able to participate in this challenge. I have my family and friends from all over the world join this challenge as well and I LOOVVVEEEE your teachings and your jokes.. I believe we all need to enjoy this journey and have some fun and laugh along the way.. To those people who are complaining, just ignore them.. Life is about fun and we need it especially in this 30 day challenge.. It increases our creativity capabilities.. Thanks for everything, mate.. Cheers from Sydney.

ED & crew,
Just to say I’m enjoying the process enormously and truly appreciate the immense gift you are giving everyone. I work from home too, my 5 year old makes frequent appearances; I love knowing that you are a normal person with a genuine active life.
As far as I’m concerned you can present your material in any style, at any pace, on any day, in any order, with or without notes, videos, blogs, podcasts or mumerings in the shower as you like; it is all highly valuable.
I can honestly say that the approaches you teach and the methods and mindset you espouse are applicable outside the IM world too and they have made a real difference to my non-internet business already.
I found last year’s TDC materials & was determined to do this one from the start.
Keep going and don’t let the self-centered ‘you-owe-me-something’ complainers get you down!
Hugh
ps not in a group yet but doing the challenge with my wife - does that count?
