I initially got exposed to Google Adwords and the internet just before the whole google slap thing kicked off
I remember when i first started my first day at my IT company in October 2006 and got introduced to online Arbitraging. My colleague was making a killing for the company using Google Adwords and then suddenly, he got google slapped and things were never the same again…
Becoming a millionaire before 2006 was piss easy when you think about it because all you needed to do to test out markets was to simply use PPC to see if there was any conversions and buyers in that market, create a landing page promoting your own product and away you go… No blogs, no content, not maintenance…
I personally think its a lot better now, even though its harder to get traffic, because it allows the little guys a chance to make an impact with good content versus having a big wallet…
It also paves way for legitimate business to take place versus just going in to make a quick buck online…
It will be a lot harder in the near future ‘cos i suspect big corporations will be hitting back with a vengeance which will dominate the playing field between us and them. Just heard only recently that google will start a new service selling their own ebooks… Not a good start for us Beginners looking to build a the skillset to market online…
