I just finished the Melbourne Leg of the Coming Home world tour and I had a blast.

Amazing what can happen when you can get genuine talent, an eager clever crowd and Sphynx Cats (Google it..).

The first Awesome thing.

The Ladies.

Seriously, let’s face it, Internet Marketing conferences are sausagefests. This one wasn’t and it made my heart sing.

Fortunately, I’m not quiet so self-deluded to suggest that it’s my raw sex appeal making this happen.

No.

The Thirty Day Challenge community is the reason.

You’re the reason.

You Care, and we are all about helping each other. It’s a caring community with the MAJORITY of it’s success stories being women.

I’m very proud of this.

VERY.

The Melbourne Leg of Coming Home was a perfect fifty/fifty split of the sexes. I can’t wait to see if the phenom continues when the final leg of the tour winds up in the USA this summer.

ONE PAGE - ONE JOB
—————————————-

Without question, the star sessions of the Coming Home experience are the HOT SEATS. It’s part Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares, part Saturday Night Live and 100% learning.

I so admire the people who put up their sites (and if your coming to the US Edition of Coming Home - You would be PSYHCO not to) - it takes an act of genuine courage to do it and I guarantee - they get a huge amount out of it.

If there was a theme (apart from the Butt-Ugly Sphynx Cats and the magnificent animated GIF highland dancer “Scottie”) it was this.

Every page on your site SHOULD have ONE job!!!

Time after time we saw sites that tried to get the visitor arriving to the site to choose between a dozen things inducing a mental epileptic fit and when someone is confused.

They say no.

Do the following exercise.

Call up someones website.

As soon as it pops up.

Ask Yourself.

What do they want me to do?

With a good site (like www.flippa.com for example)

It’s obvious.

With a lot of the sites we looked at this weekend, you needed Dora The Explorer’s magic Map….

“You climb over the butt-ugly pop-up, walk past the gnarly menu structure and fly over the vomit of “free reports” and PDF’s”

Seriously, by this point you’re begging for Swiper to steal your cookies!!!

This issue disturbed me so much (and is so widespread) I’m catching up with Nez and Guru Bob this afternoon to call an audible on 30dc plus content to make sure 30dc plus members are all over this.

We also saw the launch of a major new piece of software, attendees will be beta testing. Not to mention Brent Hodgsons cat like reflexes saving my laptop on stage.

Another star - flippa.com and more importantly we heard story after story of how Thirty Day Challengers have done so well selling their sites.

It was an extraordinary three days.

A huge thank you to all that attended and the awesome team who pulled it all together.

Next Stop - The USA

I guarantee you will have never seen an Internet Conference like this (Don’t take my word for it search the twitter #30dchome)

  1. Jennifer says:

Thank you, Ed. This was a fantastic weekend. I met some wonderful people, learned some new groovy things, and had a blast! The highlight for me was the opportunity to meet some of the biggest (and most respected) names in Internet Marketing. I highly recommend this conference to anyone and everyone. Just GO! Thanks, Ed.

  2. Sphynx Cats says:

Noooo you are stealing my keywordzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    I cans Do Follow plz

  3. SWBN says:

Loved the conference and the equal mix of men and women. I met so many genuinely interesting people who were there to learn and network. The “no pitch” conference so does it for me, give me practical steps I can put into action ASAP! (the hot seats are worth more than the conference cost just on their own).

Really tempted to hit up the USA leg just for another dose of #30DCHome goodness (and to meet the American SWBNers too ;) )

  4. Casey says:

Don’t knock yourself Ed, I’m sure the ladies at the conference would agree that you are a contender for the title ‘Internet Marketing Thinking Ladies Crumpet’ :)

  5. Lol you have such a wonderful way with words Ed - seriously - gets better & better!

Even next century they’ll be studying your writing for how to make a blog post jump.

    Isha :)

  6. Ed says:

If that happens Isha I will have fullfilled my goals to create business based on irony.

  7. Lee Little says:

I’m referring to it as the “Grateful Dead” IM event:
    1)Funky T-shirts, shorts and slippers/bare feet,
    2)Record it(for yourself),
    3)No registration/no badges,
4)Everyone sharing and audience participation required!
We just need the soundtrack playing between presentations!

  8. Luke Moulton says:

Thanks for an awesome weekend Ed - and thanks to all the 30DC team. In this day and age many people disregard the value of getting out from behind your computer (preferably a Mac) and meeting people. Apart from the awesome speakers, you’ll meet so many cool people just like you. Be with your tribe - go to Ed’s next seminar!

  9. I wish I could have been there - now just dreaming of a US based event this summer ;-)

  10. Hahaha! Lol…. Take it easy Ed :)

  11. The conference was sensational because every single speaker was an expert in their field and a hands-on entrepeneur. It wasn’t teachers who teach, it was successful business people generously sharing some secrets to their success and giving us step-by-step action plans.

As a Hot Seat ’survivor’ I’d strongly recommend all US 30 DC’rs to put their site under the microscope. A critique of your website by a panel of online experts is invaluable in helping you get to where you want to go.

Great work Ed and the team.

  12. lana hingle says:

You missed the bouncing balls and blinking lights.

    Lana

  13. Michelle says:

Please make the US event close to the east. Like NY or chicago. I live in Montreal, Quebec and am dying to go to this event.

    Please !!!

  14. Ha! Loved the Dora and Magic Map references!

This is what I want to know - - - Where will you be in the US this summer? Have you decided on a location? Let me suggest - Champaign, IL? lol We’ve got a great new Hilton!

Wish I could have been there for the awesomeness!

  15. Rob Burns says:

So is there a location for the US leg yet? If so where can I sign up for more 30DC awesomeness!?

  16. Thanks to Ed and his team I have probably saved myself 2 years of frustration and heartache. To anyone considering strapping themselves into the hot seat and having the electrodes attached..just do it (you eventually get used to the pain). Where else can you get unbiased quality information from people who live it this cheap!!

  17. What an amazing 3 days, the best seminar I’ve ever been to. Thanks to Ed and the expert speakers for sharing so much.

If you are in the USA just do it and be ahead of the game. I agree with the other Hot Seat participants - extraordinary benefits.

  18. Gail Leopold says:

Oh, please ED …. choose an East Coast location !!!! Philadelphia has a great Convention Center - just saying !!! LOL ! (It’s a great tourist city too with easy access from anywhere USA!) My hubby & son traveled to San Diego (from NJ)for Frank’s Mass Control and whether you choose east, west or central (it really doesn’t matter) it’s my turn and I can’t wait !!!!

  19. From my perspective, I also thought the conference was great. Internet marketing can be a lonely pursuit at times despite the advent of social media and networking

The opportunity to actually meet like-minded people and discuss and share challenges and successes is immensely rewarding.

I can’t wait for the next conference.

    GuruBob

  20. “Butt-Ugly Sphynx cats”? And Allison has nothing to say about that?

Really wish I could have been at the conference - they are just SO incredible. Oh well, I’ll just have to wait for the US one… See you then ;-)

  21. Sculley says:

Ed, really appreciate your example of what to do: flippa.com. Do you have other examples of “good” sites like this?

    Thanks much!

  22. David Judge says:

    Ed,

A huge Weekend. There were so many things to learn from the weekend. The main thing that hit home for me (during the hot seats) is how the internet is constantly evolving and you need to be aware of that change to stay on top. That combined with the speakers that you could talk to during breaks and bounce ideas off really summed up the word awesomeness!

By the way, I didn’t get a chance to ask your thoughts on Mac V’s PC. Do you have a favourite ;)

  23. I know I missed out… but can’t wait for you to come to Miami!

  24. Whats up , does anyone know suitable family pet sitting providers submission site ? I’m thinking of this specific one however naturally i was wondering if anybody know any alternative ones. 25. That’s Too wonderful, when it comes in india hope it can make a Rocking spot for youngster.. hope that appear true.
