I’ve told you why we are changing the Thirty Day Challenge - now let me explain exactly what we are going to do.
The first thing we need to do is address some realities. REALITY 1 You don’t have time. Nobody has any time for anything else these days - how many people do you know who are blissed out and have all the time in the world… Exactly. We need to design the challenge to accommodate this. So the first design rule is this. You need to be able to complete each lesson in thirty minutes. Including watching the video AND taking the required action for each day. Thirty minutes. No exceptions. REALITY 2 It takes longer than Thirty Days to start an Online Business. STOP DON’T LEAVE - LET ME EXPLAIN !!!!!! Google wants to see if a website is here for the long haul. They don’t want web sites created for the sole purpose of manipulating Google - This is a good thing!!!! The bad news is to get a result - get you traffic and a sale - we need to let your site “cook properly in the google oven!”We might have been able to get this done inside a thirty day period this year but we would be using “Silly Rabbit Tricks” - the whole point of the challenge is to build the foundations of a business that will last. A business that will replace your 9-5 pay packet over time. It’s just not going to happen in Thirty Days. We need to let your site marinate. Which brings me to the next reality. REALITY 3
Anybody can stick at something for seven days - virtually no-one can stick at something for eight… This is a universal truth - it’s not your fault - it’s not mine. But looking at every challenge I have studied - exercise, writing, photography - you name it - the drop off after seven days is spectacular as it is predictable. So why fight it. Rather than have you slog for thirty days straight. We are going to get everything you need to do for each part of the challenge completed in… Just SEVEN days. Now anyone can stick something out that is only going to take them 30 minutes a day for just seven days. YOU can do it. I can do it! In particular when we wrap it up with Reality 4… REALITY 4 We hate getting left behind - This is the number 1 reason anybody quits any challenge. Your brain is awesome and ALWAYS has your best interests at heart.
ALWAYS. You know what happens… Everybody starts off at the first day of the challenge, and through whatever reason you start to get left behind. So not only do you have the stress of learning something new - you have the stress - the PERCEPTION everyone else is getting ahead of you. Combine these two stresses together - along with the fact LIFE has this brilliant knack of throwing you curve balls at the totally the worst moment and you have a lethal cocktail… As soon as you start to get into negative stress - Your brain starts running it’s self defence mechanism - it wants you to feel good - not bad! So it starts throwing up perfectly reasonable excuses as to why you should stop what you’re doing and go watch Top Chef and eat a bowl of ice cream (or is that just me…). You’ll blame your computer. Your bandwidth, That short fat Aussie with the stupid accent that can’t spell anything properly, You’ll decide it’s a scam.
It’s a cult. They’re just doing this to fleece me of every dollar. etc, etc, etc, The above is all bull. But in the heat of a challenge - each can seem like a valid excuse to drop everything and give up on whatever process you’re doing. It’s a tragedy but overwhelmingly powerful - that’s why so many of us live a life of the mundane - getting a wage, enjoy a bit of TV, have the occasional holiday…
So few create a business that gives them the flexibility - that put in the hard yards to get fit, to loose weight (Yes, I’m seeing my reflection in the glossy 24inch mac display in front of me) So we may as well give up right…. umm No. We are going to take that excuse and slam dunk it into the nearest dumpster next to the sleeping smelly hobo who represents every path where things could’ve changed if not for a lack of self discipline in the heat of the moment. So - What are we going to do? Simple. After every seven days, where you only need thirty minutes to watch, learn and complete your challenge… You get seven days break!!!! That’s right!!!! You get seven days to catch up!!! Or Rest, or watch back episodes of Project Runway! You see this way - we take the pressure off - you won’t get left behind (not that it’s a race anyway!!!) LETS BRING THIS ALL HOME Now anyone with the most basic of math skills will point out this will take longer than thirty days. But let me let you in on a little secret… The last three years of the thirty day challenge were actually ninety days! We just called the first sixty days pre-season!!! So this year we get rid of preseason entirely. And kick off the first Seven days of the challenge starting on… JULY 1st! You’ll do the first seven days (and remember 30 minutes a day tops!!) and then you’ll have a seven day break before we start the second section. We will have seven sections in all. If you complete the seven sections - you’ll get a result… GUARANTEED “Oh, Ed - why did you have to get all used car salesman on me!!!” Stay with me -
Let’s look at the last reality before you go judging… REALITY 5 People need to see the fruits of their labor Here is why we can guarantee an outcome for you this year One of four things will happen; Outcome 1 You’ll have made your first dollar and built the foundation of your online empire! Outcome 2 You’ll sell your website on Flippa.com and make some money back that way. Outcome 3 You do all seven sections and you’ll be able to work as an SEO specialist. This training has been world class and I can’t tell you how many of people have used this training to get better jobs or get work on internet projects. To this end - for the first time we will be providing a job board for Challenge participants. You’ll be able to get work with other online entrepreneurs. Hang on Ed - isn’t that just another version of working for the man? Well… NO!!!!! Here’s the thing - you’re working for someone… sure, but your learning the skills that will help you go solo down the track! Remember the Reality 4 above. The one where we talked about the piling on of stress - well if you’re under the gun financially - you’re going to have a real hard time dealing with the stress of not paying the bills and trying to be creative. We’ve all heard the “burn the ships” and “gun to the head” methods for eliminating objections and getting you to do something. Hogwash. If you’re under severe financial stress you need to deal with it first. AND TRUST ME - I’VE BEEN THERE! In fact - i’ll be doing a special podcast (audio recording) to talk you through just that. So, If you’re solving money problems (or at least making them manageable) by working for someone - practicing all the skills you’ll need to have a great online business - to me that’s total win-win. It just makes sense. In the run up to July 1 we’ll keep you informed of everything you need to know to get ready for this years challenge. You could do me one big favour. Please hit the like button below and tell anyone you know who you think might be interested in taking the challenge. We have totally changed everything to make this the EASIEST, simplest, challenge ever. We know it works better if you do it with a team. And as always never forget.. “there is no charge for awesomeness” Ed .
Hi Ed,
I have participated the 30DC last year but only last for about 10 days. I must admit I didn’t commit to it but I did find those video very useful and I’ve learnt a lot from them.
I like your guarantee of outcome of becoming good at SEO and sell website using Flippa. Look forward to learn more!
Cheers,
Ming Jong
Ed,
Great teaching concept. As always, you instruction will be first rate but this really makes a lot of sense.
Good on Ya,
Paul
Hi Ed
Great Idea, short steps, complete 1 go on to the next.
I think last years was great as well. I learned a lot
but started late. The pre challenge used up most of my time,
but I got to the end.
Thanks a bunch I appreciate your efforts, it helped me a lot.
Thanks
Brian Foster
Sounds Awsome as ever !
Looking forward to the challenge.
Sounds very smart, 30 day straight is rough.
Ooh, awesomeness is free!
Is there a charge for attractiveness…?
Hi Ed
I found 30DC heavy going & huge commitment but fabulous content & I am persevering with the help of my business partner. I fully agree that most people start & fall by the side due to excuse after excuse but this is 1st class training which you have supplied.
It is my belief that you have to focus on a specific task & keep moving forward to your goal, one step at a time & your proposal to do ‘bite sized chunks of 1/2 hour over a 7 day period’ makes fantastic sense.
Can’t wait till 1st July & huge thanks for all your help.
Michael
You are right, pre-season was huge for me. so much to take in but so much learned. I didn’t do the challenge in the end because it was too much time to do the work and learn so much at the same time, and still do the day job but I REALLY Learned a lot overall and it was great, but I can see why a lot fall away sooner. i was very determined to learn everything I could from the videos and watched many over and over again to just get my basic understanding up there. Looking forward to going into it with more background knowledge.
Definitely looking forward to another great year of amazing 30DC Training. The teachers and support staff you have helping us are Top Notch, especially those in the forum…
To date I have worked on 3 niche sites with a fellow 30DC partner( that was a big bonus for me when I started because I was somewhat technically handicapped..lol), 2 local business sites for clients and 1 niche site for myself.
I plan on vamping up my efforts this year to enable me to compete for more local seo work. Can’t wait till July 1st.
Cheers!
Ed
You and your staff are the bomb!!!!! Eat your heart out Frank Kern!

The 30DC 2010 looks too good to miss. I’m in this year and I can’t wait!
So I was going to forget about the challenge this year on the basis I wouldn’t have time…
..YOU JUST BLEW THAT RIGHT OUT OF THE WATER!
DAIYAAN IS BACK! And i’m going to bring an army of people to do the challenge with me
Though… you had to psyche me up for this during my exam season… grrrrrrr
Can’t wait,
Daiyaan - Now legal
Can’t wait for the new Challenge to begin. I’ve been looking forward to it since the last one ended. But I do have one not so little request. Now that there will be more time to follow through on the training, there is NO excuse to foist wordpressdirect on the newbs. It creates an unnecessary dependency, in my experience. Please teach everyone how to use Wordpress properly from the get go. I can’t tell you how many times wordpressdirect support staff couldn’t help me because their focus is limited to the wordpressdirect software. I would often find myself on my own with Wordpress and would have appreciated some training.
Encouraging a newbie to use wordpressdirect to run their first Wordpress blog is like putting an interface between their fingers and the piano that eliminates the black keys because “it makes it faster and easier to learn how to play piano.” They may learn how to play the white keys, but they’ll never be a real piano player. To play piano properly, they’ll have to figure out how to use the black keys. Similarly, to run a Wordpress blog properly, one has to figure out how to use Wordpress. So please teach it from the start. Thank you.
Hi Ed, I didn’t give up but did feel terribly behind. So much information to fit into my little brain. My first website was for a nonprofit and it made it to page two of Google. Now I am doing one for myself and should be getting my first money any day now.
Thanks for everything you do! Love you!
Karen
Hi Ed, I must admit, last year I got left behind at around day 17. But, with the new layout for the 30DC this year, I think I could actually reach the finish line. Lets hope it works. Thanks for the awesomeness!
Jason
Confession: I have started the 30-Day Challenge three times and never completed it, even though I have learned a lot each time. The online learning curve is very steep for a senior citizen like me. I like you guys a lot and your “down home” teaching style; may give it another try.
Ed - Have good news. Our marketing team has been working on your stuff pretty much since you released Market Samurai. We bought your software and we’re working through your 30DC. It’s taken us far longer than we anticipated (rotating the other stuff we don’t have time for)…, but we’re with you all the way!
Sounds great Ed,
I am looking forward to ramping up my online biz.
I love the way you make it all so simple.
Cheers
Helen
I gave up on day tennish, well, got stuck and kept going back and forth for a few months then gave up entirely. The thing is I know your product is worthwhile and I enjoy it all, from the forum to the learning to the ups and downs. I feel motivated again. So here goes. I’ve even got a bunch of niches’ lined up that I never followed up on as I was so worn out.
Wishing everyone success.
Bryn
Two words- YOU ROCK!
I started about a year ago and although i didn’t get very far as trying to get the preseasons down and then the 30dc lessons i got lost then of course I lost market samurai after 40 days but i still watch the video hoping to get a jump on this years challange it sounds like even i will be able to do it thank u
Finally! It’s so damn overwhelming!!! I think I can, I think I can…

I wasn’t able to complete the 30 day challenge and I just got on the website to make another effort but was unable to access the videos. I’m assuming this is because you are changing it, so I will wait for the new challenge. I think this time I’ll be able to do it. Trying to learn new things and implement them on a daily basis is difficult. I am very excited to take the challenge again. Thanks for recognizing the problems and making changes - it does make me feel you are actually out there and involved, not just putting something up and moving on.
Great idea. I seem to miss the start of the challenge and started behind in the first place but this year I plan to do much better. Like the new format and as you can see…..I am starting on time, even early, aye.

Thanks for the opportunity.
Great idea Ed, hopefully more people will take advantage of your teachings to escape their day job!
Wonderful Ed, I have raved about the 30DC since discovering it, however the ‘but’ was exactly what you mention above. As usual cutting edge ideas which offer an inspirational format for those like me in personal development. Can’t wait to begin
!
Successful fun to all.

Hi Ed. Just wanted to say I am so looking forward to the Challenge this year and the new concept. I did the Challenge last year but I am one of your failures- or should I say still looking for my first online dollar. But I’m plugging still and have learned over the past year and was able to correct some of my mistakes. Am so very grateful for all you wonderful people who spend so much time and effort into developing these programs for free.
I would like to register for the 30 Day Challenge please.
A friend of mine, raig Van Zieel referred me.
Rgds.

I love the fact we get introduced to new challenges that help our skill sets. The one thing I hope also occurs is the introduction of the services you see fit to let us try which enhance our businesses. LOve it, lets do it.
Hi Guys,
Can’t wait for the Challenge to start. I have been involved with the 30DC for two years now and this time I think I am going to understand more. Learning all this IM stuff can be hard going on a newbie but with determination it will drop into place. I still have so much to learn but I’m beginning to grasp it and I think you “Ed Dale” are one of the best Internet Marketing guys out there, and I have listened to lots.
Good on Yah!!

Hi Ed. I just found out about this Challenge and would love to get on board. Am I too late? I’ve been dabbling in IM for a while now, in fact I have built many websites, but have never really gotten anything off the ground. I’m hoping the Challenge will challenge me to see it through into success…
So how do I join?
This years Challenge proves to even work for me Ed. I just got back from Europe and can join and ‘catch’ up. I never miss a challenge and I have never not had success using your methods.
Since I do SEO for my Denver Acupuncture practice online - this year is a real winner for me!
Hey guys
Where do I go to get the 2010 verion of the Challenge??
