Day 27 - 2009 30DC

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

The Day 27 Training Content page is up.

Today is all about backlinks, and the importance of understanding how crucial high quality backlinks are to your site. Ultimately, your long term ranking in the SERPS will be dependent on the quantity and the quality of the back links that point to your site.

Brent explains how search engines decide where web pages should rank for particular keywords, and how high quality back links play a role in that process. Brent also outlines what classifies as a ‘high quality’ back link.

Brent then introduces Market Samurai’s Promotion Module, and outlines how it can find you high quality back links easier and faster than ever before. Brent explains how the correct use of the Promotion Module will produce better quality back links, save you time, get you better rankings faster, and ensure that no time or effort has been wasted.

Anthony then outlines in detail, how to use the Promotion Module in Market Samurai to create legitimate, high quality back links to your blog. The areas Anthony covers are finding relevant blogs to post genuine comments on, finding relevant forums to participate in, and finding Web 2.0 pages to post comments on, and using the pingback strategy to create a win/win for both you and the site you are linking to.

Lastly, Anthony shows you how to look at and analyze your competitors back links.

After the completion of today’s lessons, you will have a greater understanding of what a high quality back link is, how to use the Market Samurai Promotion module to create those back links.

You will have also made some comments or posts on a few sites for your micro niche, using the Market Samurai Promotion module to source appropriate sites.

Day 26 - 2009 30DC

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

The Day 26 Training Content page is live.

By now you will have made a decision to move forward or not in your micro niche. Today covers using Google Analytics and Market Samurai to perform further keyword research to find more semantically related keywords that you can use to publish optimized content to your blog.

GuruBob explains how finding more keywords that are relevant to your micro niche allows you to publish more content to your blog, and this in turn increases your blogs exposure to potential traffic in your micro niche. GuruBob outlines the process of researching more keywords for your micro niche using Google Analytics.

Anthony introduces two more keyword types that we can research for our micro niche, long tail derivative and semantic long tail derivative keywords. Anthony explains the concept of the ‘keyword tree’, and how the relationship between your theme keywords, category keywords, and both the long tail derivative and semantic long tail derivative keywords works.

Anthony then demostrates how to research both types of long tail keywords for your theme and category keywords using Market Samurai, with different filter and search settings.

After completing Day 26’s training, you will understand how to research the incoming keyword traffic to your blog using Google Analytics data, as well as reseaching long tail derivative and semantic long tail derivative keywords using Market Samurai.

Day 25 - 2009 30DC

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

The Day 25 Training Content page is up.

Today is all about your options if you arrived at the decision that your niche was a ‘no go’ after following the Day 24 lessons. There are plenty of ways to turn all of the work you’ve done in creating your blog, into an asset or a return on your investment.

Anthony takes you through the steps in getting yourself a Google Adsense account, and explains in details how Adsense works and how to benefit from it. Anthony also clarifies the difference between Google Adwords and Google Adsense

Using Market Samurai, Anthony then shows you how to replace your affiliate ads on your blog with Google Adsense and Amazon ads. Anthony details the entire process for you, including how to create the look and feel of the ads on your blog.

If creating dynamic ads for your blog to generate revenue is not something you want to do, Ed shows you how you can make some money from your existing blog by selling it. Ed introduces the service Flippa, which is a site for buying and selling websites. Ed demostrates the service, and gives some examples that demonstrate what is possible, and offers some tips on on how to get the most out of the service.

Marty shows you how to use Wordpress Direct to transfer or migrate your blog if you wanted to sell it, or how to build up your blog and expand its coverage. Marty also outlines how to setup your blog using features within Wordpress Direct to either sell the blog as self publishing, as well as help you easily build up a blog network of your own to target your niche, all from within one administration panel.

After completing today’s lessons, if your blog is a “No Go”, you will have changed the ads on the blog to be dynamic ads that have a higher probability of generating some cashflow. You will have also considered the potential value of your blog should you choose at some point in the future to offer up your blog for sale on a site like Flippa.com.

Day 24 - 2009 30DC

Monday, August 24th, 2009

The Day 24 Training Content page is up!

Day 24 - Today is go, or no go day. Based on all of the data, numbers and stats, it’s time to decide if you have a niche that is worth pursuing or not. It can be an understandably very emotional day, but you need to look things from a big picture perspective. With the tools now available to you, and the techniques you’ve been taught so far this month, there is plenty of time to catch up and keep going with a new niche.

Ed talks you through the process to follow in making a judgement call on whether your niche is a go, or a no go, based on the statistics collected. Ed also defines what a ‘go’ situation is, and what a ‘no go’ situation is, based on ranking, traffic numbers, clicks on your ads and of course sales. Ed also outlines the importance of not making any decisions before you have had enough time to generate the appropriate amount of stats.

Just getting this far is a major achievement. If you find that you will need to start again, you will soon discover that the process is far quicker than the first time through. The Thirty Day Challenge is laid out over the course of a month in order to teach it at a managable pace. Once you know how to do it, the entire process can be followed in a matter of days.

After the completion of today’s lessons, you will have first reviewed Day 17’s lessons about analyzing your stats, and then applied that knowledge to reviewing your own niche statistics. After reviewing your niche stats, you will made the decision to either continue in that niche, or to start again and research a new niche.
