Day 23 - 2009 30DC

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

The Day 23 Content Page is live.

Today is a proper rest day, and gives you the perfect opportunity to either take a day off and relax, or catch up on training content or action steps you haven’t had time for yet.

Ed and Michelle have also recorded a special edition of Internet Marketing This Week, which is a free weekly podcast that talks about news and issues in the internet marketing world.

This week’s edition of IMTW covers the latest industry news this week, and talks about conversion, a very timely topic for the Thirty Day Challenge.

Day 23 is the perfect opportunity to back and revisit what you’ve done this week. Take advantage of the rest day to go back and revisit lessons that you either don’t understand 100%, or didn’t have time to study in detail the first time.

We also have another Mindset Lesson With Karl - Today Karl talks about what other people think, and why you shouldn’t care at all. It’s your life, and only you can find your own happiness.

Don’t forget the next 30DC Tv show at 8.30 pm EST Sunday night on Ustream at:

Howdy All,

Firstly, the Pocket Pod. It’s a very well known fact that to be a successful internet marketer you must be really bad good at the guitar - Just as Ed, Frank Kern, Jeff Walker and the rest of the bunch. Well, this little beauty will help you achieve internet marketing superstardom - even if you are not a guitar player I am sure some of the “success” will rub of on you. Seriously though; if you are a guitar enthusiast on any level you will understand how handy and cool this thing is.

As for the LX3 Camera, to really become a market leader you are going to have step it up-to video at some point down the line, and as Ed mentions this camera has a proven track record. It’s recorded some of the best internet marketing lessons ever produced …  and we’re sure it will bring it’s track-record to you. Here are the video reviews:

Day 18 - 2009 30DC

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

The Day 18 Training Content page is up!

Day 18 - Today looks at all of the different sorts of traffic there are. Ed explains why we go after particular types of traffic over others, and in what order to focus on them. For example, Ed explains the importance of getting your blog indexed and ranked as a first step before looking at using pay per click advertising due to Google’s quality score.

Ed then outlines the basics of any internet business, which is Ed’s Magnificent Symphony of Four Parts, market research, traffic, conversion, and product. While the other areas are covered, the main focus here today is traffic. As Ed explains, over time you are ideally aiming to build up your traffic up to 200 visitors a day (initially of course this will not be the case, you are looking for at least 100 visitors based on the methods covered so far in order to assess your blog).

Ed breaks sources of traffic down into 2 types, paid and free traffic. So far in the Thirty Day Challenge we have covered free traffic, building up our blog using off-page and on-page SEO factors. Ed outlines the benefits of using pay per click (PPC) traffic in terms of the leverage you get in terms of time saved and the targeted performance.

Lastly, Ed outlines what to do if money is an issue. PPC is a strategy that trades time for money. If that is not an option for you, keep doing the strategies that have already been taught. Rinse and repeat what you have already learned. While being a longer term strategy, it’s still highly effective and won’t cost you a dime.

On completing today’s lessons, you will have a greater understanding of the types of traffic available to you, and the best methods and strategies for harnessing that traffic.

And we also have another Mindset Lesson With Karl - Today Karl talks about the Pareto Principle (otherwise known as the 80/20 rule), and the effect it can have on all areas of your life from your personal relationships, to your financial success, and your business success.

Talk soon,

Ed

Day 15 - 2009 30DC

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

The Day 15 Training Content page is available now!

On day 15 we finish off our week of Web 2.0 in the Thirty Day Challenge, today we look at Propeller and Ed talks about using various micro blogging platforms to communicate with your market. He also introduces some changes to Google Reader that you need to take advantage of.

Nez introduces Propeller, how to sign up for it and how to use it. Nez gives you a brief overview of the Propeller service and creating an account, and takes you through the process of adding a new URL to Propeller, including how to choose the title, add a description and set the appropriate tags.

Ed introduces a new site called Posterous, which is a very simple way to create a micro blog to communicate with your market via email. Once setup, Posterous can effectively allow you to post to a variety of services via email. It distributes your content everywhere to a variety of services using the ‘Autopost To Everywhere’ feature, where you can pick and choose from services like Twitter, Facebook, etc, including your own blogs.

Ed also takes you through the best settings and ways to use Google Reader to keep up to date in your market, how to quickly and easily look through your subscribed feeds, and shows you how to email Posterous from directly inside Google Reader.

Lastly, Ed introduces the new changes to Google Reader that incorporate other Web 2.0 properties, and how to set them up for the best integration with Google Reader.

At the end of today’s lessons you will have created a Propeller account and bookmarked at least one of your blog URLs (and your Propeller profile URL), and then added the Propeller bookmark to Rank Tracker and Traffic Bug. You will also have created a Posterous account, done a first test post using the service, and added some services to your Google Reader account using the ‘Send To’ feature in settings.

Speak soon,

Ed

Day 14 - 2009 30DC

Friday, August 14th, 2009

The Day 14 Training Content is online!

In day 14 we are continuing our focus on building pages on Web 2.0 sites and linking back to our blog today specifically from a Weebly and Facebook page.

Caro introduces you to another free blogging platform, Weebly. Caro takes you through the signup process for Weebly, and gives an overview of how easy it is to signup for Weebly and setup a Weebly blog. Caro then takes you through how to add another new theme keyword optimized article to your new Weebly blog, using the Weebly editor which has a very simple drag and drop interface. Lastly, Caro takes you through the process of adding your Weebly blog to both the Rank Tracker module in Market Samurai and Traffic Bug.

Ed introduces you to Facebook Pages, outlines how to use them and why, and gives some examples of how to use them to complement your marketing and branding efforts. Using Ed’s own Facebook Fan Page as an example, Ed shows you how they are constructed, and what kind of content you can put on them.

Ed then takes you through the process of creating a Facebook Page, following Facebook’s own step by step guide to settting up the page.

By the close of Day 14 you should have  created a new blog on the free blogging platform Weebly. The blog will have a new, unique post in the form of an article that is theme keyword optimized, and will have been added to Rank Tracker and Traffic Bug. You will have a greater understanding of Facebook Pages and how they function, and if applicable to your market or niche, you will have created a Facebook Page as well.

More to come,

Ed

Day 1 - 2009 30DC

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

Hi all,

The Day 1 content page for the 30DC is now live.  You can access it here:

2009 30DC Day 1 Training Page

Ed lays out what to expect over the next 30 days, and what sort of investment of time you will need to put in. He also explains how to access the materials and how to pace yourself by taking the challenge step-by-step.

Ed introduces you to his Magnificent Symphony Of Four Parts, which is broken down into market reasearch, traffic, conversion, and product.

Day 1 is really about getting ideas (areas of interest and/or passion) from which you will develop niches that you will be exploring and analyzing over the days to come.  Dan has recorded some videos to help you with getting ideas but they won’t be available at 9am EST when the page initially goes live so check back frequently and eventually Dan’s content will go live.

Last but not least, Day 1 introduces the first of Karl Moore’s mindset videos on the subject on beating procrastination…not to be missed.

Good luck with Day 1.
