The Day 15 Training Content page is available now!
On day 15 we finish off our week of Web 2.0 in the Thirty Day Challenge, today we look at Propeller and Ed talks about using various micro blogging platforms to communicate with your market. He also introduces some changes to Google Reader that you need to take advantage of.
Nez introduces Propeller, how to sign up for it and how to use it. Nez gives you a brief overview of the Propeller service and creating an account, and takes you through the process of adding a new URL to Propeller, including how to choose the title, add a description and set the appropriate tags.
Ed introduces a new site called Posterous, which is a very simple way to create a micro blog to communicate with your market via email. Once setup, Posterous can effectively allow you to post to a variety of services via email. It distributes your content everywhere to a variety of services using the ‘Autopost To Everywhere’ feature, where you can pick and choose from services like Twitter, Facebook, etc, including your own blogs.
Ed also takes you through the best settings and ways to use Google Reader to keep up to date in your market, how to quickly and easily look through your subscribed feeds, and shows you how to email Posterous from directly inside Google Reader.
Lastly, Ed introduces the new changes to Google Reader that incorporate other Web 2.0 properties, and how to set them up for the best integration with Google Reader.
At the end of today’s lessons you will have created a Propeller account and bookmarked at least one of your blog URLs (and your Propeller profile URL), and then added the Propeller bookmark to Rank Tracker and Traffic Bug. You will also have created a Posterous account, done a first test post using the service, and added some services to your Google Reader account using the ‘Send To’ feature in settings.
