John Reese (aka Mr Traffic Secrets) once remarked that our jobs as marketers selling to the internet marketing crowd is to save people time. A lot of what is being taught is freely available if you take the time to research it, understand how to use and then take action and apply it to your business.
I went to university for 4 years and paid thousands of dollars to be told what sections to read inside a textbook. How's that for the ultimate scam.
The value in *some* of these products is shortcutting the learning process.
I personally have no comment about 30 minute backlinks because I don't own it. I will say that I read the sale message and decided it was not for me. I have tried automated link generation in the past (autoblog posting sw) and it blew up in my face. In other words what I was taught lasted for 2 months and then Google 'abolished' its effectiveness.
Here's an idea that, in my opinion, is *more* effective when done well. There are dozens of video sharing sites out there and the search engines love them more than software sharing sites. Why not use something link JING and make a series of useful or entertaining videos and post them to all the sites. If you did 10 or 20 five minute videos and hosted them on the top 20 video sharing sites, properly optimized for your keywords and with a backlink, I bet you would get lots of traffic. I could refer you to a service that can do all the grunt work posting to 30 video sites in about 20 minutes but it is not free.
Glen.
p.s. That video posting service is a perfect example of what John Reese was referring to.
