I use both, Google Reader and Evernote and do like Evernote a little better.
2 reasons:
1) Evernote has a neat app for the IPhone (free of charge)
2) Evernote can search within photos as well. You can save photos in evernote and if there is anything written in this photo you can search for it (e.g. a label on a bottle, your plane ticket etc.)
So it is worth giving it a try.
