Google Toolbar will work in the Flock 2 beta, though you may need to wait 24 hours after installing for it to start working (I'll skip the technical explanation unless you'd like to know).
Moving to Flock 2 will not lose any of your feeds, favorites, history etc. That said, it's always good to back up with a beta. You can find instructions on backing up your Flock profile at
