I use Comment Kahuna for the search function and I like that if fills out my anchor text, email address and website address. I never use the drop-in comment box. I always read the full articles and comment on each one individually if I have something to add. If I don't have something to add I skip commenting on that article and go on to the next.

It just speeds up manual commenting a bit for me.

To DonH, the author of the previous post, spam is a bigger problem than junk mail because it can take over your email life. I get thousands of spam messages in my spam box daily. Thousands daily. If I had to wade through them in my inbox I would shut down that email address and get a new one. Email already takes too much time out of my day as it is.

There is a law against spam in the U.S. called the CANSPAM act. It's why we email marketers have gone to making subscribers opt-in to our email lists. They only get them if they go to an email we send and click on the subscribe link. Just subscribing by email on our sites won't get them subscribed. Subscribers can also unsubscribe very easily by clicking a link at the bottom of any email they receive from our lists. They click the link, visit the subscription page and change their subscription options. No more email from an unwanted source.

If you think you will make money by spamming people, you are wrong. You will at best be filtered out and at worst be banned from several sites, servers, hosts, and affiliate programs. If your webhost gets complaints that you are spamming from their servers, you may try to log in to find your account locked and all your websites down. If you were indeed spamming you won't be able to get your content back for weeks or months, or maybe never. If you weren't spamming, it will still take weeks to get everything sorted back out and your websites back up. Time is money and the longer your sites are down the more money you lose.

No, you won't go to jail, but you won't be in business anymore because no one will deal with you.

So be warned. Spamming is something to take seriously and to seriously avoid.
