I was just about ready to join the 30dc Facebook application. However, I received the following message:

"Allowing Thirty Day Challenge access will let it pull your profile information, photos, your friends' info, and other content that it requires to work."

I can control MY profile and other content. However, I am reluctant to drag my friends into an application without their consent - especially since the Facebook default privacy controls are not that private.

I totally trust Ed Dale and the 30DC - but there are 1000's of people in 30DC, so I won't be able to know/trust all of them.

What visibility will my Facebook friends have? Is there anyway to exclude some/all of them? What will I miss if I do NOT do the 30dc Facebook application?
