Keyword density IS still a factor in SEO.... the "key" is in using it strategically. There's a difference between keyword "stuffing" and strategically leveraging keyword density.

However, for 30 day challenge purposes, I would imagine that you don't have to worry about it too much. The competition is low enough that you can just plug your keyword phrase in the title tag, description meta tag, and in an H1 tag and your page will rank well.

KD becomes an issue with more competitive phrases.

I run KD checkers on my clients' sites every time simply because sometimes I don't even realize that I used a phrase over and over (like a phone number, or the name of the company) which would dilute the relevance focus of that page... I want my keyword phrase to be the most frequently occurring phrase on that page because that communicates what that page is about to the GoogleBot. I don't want another phrase accidentally occurring more often than my targeted phrase.
