Question Registering domain names

I don't know if this has been asked before...

Does anyone know how reliable gatordomains.com OR godaddy.com are?

Are they the cheapest, most reliable?? any others we should know about??

Any comments are appreciated.

Godaddy is a major company, very reliable. I think prices are pretty much the same everywhere (unless you find coupons, hint: retailmenot.com).

I usually use Namecheap because I like the admin interface, but I've used Godaddy in the past

I use godaddy a lot, i have around 50 domains on there and i have never had any problems with them. Nameservers, etc are very easy to change with godaddy too.

I use this site for discounts from coupons for godaddy.

Hope that helps,

Daiyaan

I have been using 1and1.com for four years now. My registrations are usually
active within 12 hours and DNS redirects usually are completed in about five to six
Hours.

All the common names, ie:.com,.net,,info are always $5.99 yr. w/ free private
registration. Godaddy $9.99 yr. plus $9.99 yr. for private registration.
Thats $20.00 year!

Plus 1and1.com also always has a different sale going too. Right now at this posting
you can get a .US for $2.99 for the yr.

Your call, my experience w/ Godaddy has been a thumbs down.

You can give them a look over if you like at:

www.dncoupons.com offers coupons for many of the popular domain registration services.

www.dyndot.com offers an intersting 'taster service' it's like a period of grace in which you can cancel a registration and get a credit back. This is useful if you want to test traffic to a domain...although that's not strictly what it is designed for........

I have domains with namecheap and godaddy and a couple of smaller registrars. I think the user interface at namecheap is easier to use.

Some of the registrars mentioned above will take down a site and confiscate the domain for ONE report of spam.

Fine if you are not going to use mailing lists or anything like that. I use Aweber but I got reported to my host by a competitor. As my 'host' sells me my reseller account he was fine when I explained. I have also bought domain names that came up for sale because of a perceived infraction by the registrar.

Another company mentioned above is regarded as the worst host going and I do a great trade in rescuing them when the support is non existant.

This is not a pitch for my company as I am not even going to say what it is but I do specialise in IT support for the terrified

I also use GoDaddy and I am extremely happy with their domain registration services. I've been using them for four or five years and they always seem to have some coupon floating around for a few bucks off your domain registration. I do not recommend them for domain backorders or hosting.
