Lightbulb PocketFlock - Flock on Your USB

Hi Guys and Gals,

Not sure if people are interested but you can now get Flock for your USB!

While I'd encourage everyone to download Flock and put it on your Laptop or Desktop computer, there may be some of you out there that are a little apprehensive putting another browser on their computer. If so this might be a great alternative for you as it is all contained on the usb. Once you have finished using it...just remove the usb drive from your computer.

Personally, I'm going to be using PocketFlock so that I can make the 30Day Challenge portable this year! So while at home will use the one on my desktop pc and sync it with pocketflock on my usb drive so that when I'm out and about or at work...when I have a spare moment or two...I can pluggin my usb with pocket Flock on it and get the latest 30day info and feeds and keep tabs with my team.

You can download PocketFlock from ITDunn's Blog

Hope this helps?

Kind Regards,

Tim

Awesome! Thank you!! I was looking for something like this as my husband decides the desktop has to be reformatted every other weekend, it really is getting annoying to redownload everything. Now I just have to make it all fit on my brand new flash drive I made him buy me!

That's cool. I may do that for work, as in the studio we only use IE and I would love to be able to use my Flock here without having to bring my lappie in every time.

Thanks for the info,

Lisa

This is great! I was just wondering about this last week. Does anyone know if the extensions will work with the portable version?

Thanks,

Steve

Talking Installing PocketFlock onto USB

Hi Fellow Flockers! (just had to say that!)

Have now installed PocketFlock onto a 1GB USB Flash Drive and it works beautifully.

Once installed I went to the Help menu, clicked on the Check for updates and updated to the latest version of flock....don't panic if this seems to take alot longer than usual! You are downloading and updating to a usb drive...it's a little slower!

Once updated (you may be asked to restart flock) I then did all that Mountain Guy suggests in his post Question regarding Flock browser....
after which PocketFlock will run much faster.
I also implemented Ed's preference tweaks that he outlines in his lesson two pre-season video.

Plus I went to the privacy Tab -under the Cookies settings changed it to 'Keep until I close Flock". And under Private Settings I have "Always Clear my private data when I close Flock" and "Ask before clearing Private Data" ticked. I then click on the Private Settings Button and make sure the following is ticked Browsing History, Download History and Cache.

This is so that I don't fill up the USB with un-necessary data...This is my personal preferences only...you don't have to do this!

Once this was done I closed PocketFlock, restarted it and then added TDC toolbar, Stumble Upon, twitterBar, and PicLens extensions! All working Hunky Dory!

Hope this helps?
