Default Links Opening Up In IE Rather Than Flock.

Hi there, folks.
I run a Dell PC that constantly opens links in IE instead of Flock.
Flock is set as the default browser and IE is not.
But if I click a link in Twhirl, guess what?
It's annoying and time consuming.
Has anyone had to successfully deal with this?
I love you long time.
Thank you.

Craig

u gotta make Flock your default browser:

I am on a Mac so I don't know where pref's are on PC but probably under FILE>Prefereces and under MAIN there is a radio button:
"Check to see if Flock is your default browser"?

Than a button that says "Check Now" - click it.

Actually, I do have Flock set as the default browser in Flock.
I also have IE specifically un-checked as the default browser.
That's what's so puzzling about this.

That's a weird issue. I've actually seen it happen on another program before but I don't remember what I did to fix it.

Anyway, maybe this will help;

twhirl’s blog » Blog Archive » Opening URLs on Vista in your default browser

or this;

Twhirl and Google Chrome

I have the same issue too.

@SEOHolicc

Option #1 - I tried. Has no effect.

Option#2 - Would you happen to know how to get into ----> regedit to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.html and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm

Ya'll need to get Macs. Windows just keeps getting worse and worse. I was a windows user for about 20 years. I am estimating but I used DOS before windows even existed and got 3.1 when it first came out. About 2 1/2 years ago I got a Mac Pro and WILL NEVER look back.

The only downside is gaming but I am too damn old to be playing games at this point. Not so much too old but more gaming means less money making and it's just too addicting to play those games. LOL!

That was funny.

I second that.

Combine it with being on a Dell laptop running Vista, which constantly crashes to blue screen restart, and usually while in the middle of something important...that will make you want to vomit, re-eat it, and then also have some runny eggs.

Thank you for this good information.

I will definitely look into solutions at those places.

Yep - this is the cause.

Adobe AIR will use the Operating System's browser by default because it can rely on that browser being installed.

On a Mac, it's Safari.

On a PC, it's IE.
