Mike,

I looked at the site where you posted the daily summary last year. Will you be doing a daily summary this year? I hope so! Send us a link if so.

I started a thread last night that included the url address to a quick blog I created for the summaries and now the post is not there. I pm'd Dan, the moderator, asking what is up but haven't heard back.

You can find summaries for the first two lessons here. digipursuits.com. I have the others almost done and will post them later.

Default Re: Resources for Summaries and Notes for 2008 TDC

Hi gang, Steve here

Hendry Lee has been doing a stellar job with notes and summaries here:

http://blogbuildingu.com/thirty-day-...e-2008-details

He also has a laser-focused action list here:

Thirty Day Challenge 2008 Actions List

It looks like Mary Z is off to a great start here:

digipursuits.com

My son and I have been working on a few things here:

Preseason Catch Up « The Father & Son Thirty Day Challenge|2008

The important thing is to watch the videos, be an active part of this community - ask questions on the forums - join or start a team - and take action.

The notes and summaries are good - but if you're only looking at the summaries, you're cheating yourself out of the full value offered by the thirty day challenge.

Just my two cents as things ramp up...

Hi Mary,

The reason why one of the Moderators moderated your offering was that it was rather 'coldly' (subjective descriptor I know ) introduced and was only your third post and we also have someone who has volunteered to us to do the summaries for us.

There had been no conversation with any of us at Team Edge (separate to the Moderation team) about you volunteering so your post came out of the blue with very little introduction and you had not seemed to have been active in the community.

So it raised a question mark and to be on the safe side they deleted the post. I am also hoping they contacted you to explain this. If not - then apologies - they are human and I would also offer that the moderation team gets it right 99% of the time and have a full on job to attend to with the number that visit this forum.

We appreciate your offer to do it - Hendry is the official transcriber for this years 30 Day Challenge.

And there are others who have made themselves known to us, that are also offering distinct versions as well. Steve is an example of that.

Unfortunately we have had instances where people use such an activity as transcribing to self promote - and you may have been unfairly judged as one such person for reason explained above.

I hope that clarifies it further for you. We look forward to you building a presence in the community and assisting you on your own 30DC adventure where you signal you'd like it

Best to you

Caro

Steve I hope you and your son's challenge goes very well. I especially like week 3 on Hendry's action list about installing twhirl and Adobe AIR. Very direct and no fluff.

Sometimes words of encouragement echo without end...

Thank you for your good wishes Alexander - I'll relay them to Stephen.

and Caro, in your writing and in your use of smiley faces - your warmth and genuine friendliness always shine through - thanks for being so awesome - and for not charging for it

What some people call 'cold' others call 'straightforward'

No self promotion here, my name wasn't even on the site. Just trying to give back because I discovered the 30DC through Mike's blog last year. It looks like this is all covered so I will leave this to others and focus on the challenge. I also just saw that Nez added transcripts of the videos in pdf format. Click the "T" next to the video link.

Caro: Can I make a few suggestions?
Create new threads for 2008 like, '2008 Summaries', '2008 I got ranked', '2008 I made a sale'

It seems like there's more information in the forums than is easily visible. For example, I did not see Hendry's or Steve's summaries until the post above.

PS I never heard anything back from Dan, but I know you guys are super busy right now.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi Mary,

Your suggestions are great ones.

Dan has informed us that he is indeed planning to over-all/update the forum for this years challenge.

Exactly when that will happen, I can not say.

If there is a delay - the very first thing we'll do is take down the stickies pertaining to last year.

They were left there for the reason of this planned overhaul

The ustream TV shows and the Training materials, and Pre-Season section of the Forum have pretty much been what's kept up to date for 2008 so far.

Re PMing Dan - honestly you are highly unlikely to receive a response for the reason you've touched on.

My job is actually to work the forum, answer 30DC questions (& general ones that I can) and basically just make sure everything's flowing for our community. Same as I did last year (and LOVED it!). That's why I jumped in here

And then there are the awesome team of Moderators which I am also privileged to be one of. Our responsibility there is just to make sure the posts are in alignment with the ethos of the community and also to move/redirect etc where need be.

It's going to be an amazing year this year....I feel it in my bones (and I'm sure that's not just because it's freezing in Sydney!).

Caro
