Default Posterous and Unique Content

I have searched the forum and found some data on Posterous and how other 30DCs are using it. Very helpful.

I see great value in using this to update and keep my Blog(s) and Web 2.0 properties current.

Yet I have a question about unique content. I get for Twitter it only uses the title. And FB they put a link in back to your blog post.

What about Blogger, Weebly,WP.com, etc.... would I include those to to create further backlinks or is that too much duplicate contact?

Or has anyone have a system they are using that is working.
I see this as a great time saver. Yet if the unique content issue with the big G is going to cause problems... would want to just do this with Twitter and FB.

Your clarification is appreciated.
Thanks
Cindy

Any thoughts on this?

What I have done (and it seems to be working okay) is to write an article, then send a link to the article to Posterous, which then posts it onto Facebook and Twitter, alerting my followers that there is a new article on my main site or other Web 2.0 location.

As my site is craft based, I'll often include a teaser photo relating to the article to Posterous, then have the full details on the site.

The real power of Posterous isn't in backlinks, it's the ability it gives you to easily and quickly add fresh content to all of your relevant properties in one go. You use it exactly as is shown in the video.

Don't forget to change the "Writing Settings" in your Wordpress blog(s) so the default category is the one you want to update.

Here's what I do... I make my original and unique category post a sticky and that way any new scraped content I add via Posterous goes below it. My visitors still see my best stuff first and Google sees that I'm regularly adding fresh content.

The supposed "unique content issue with the big G" is a myth.

Thank you. That helps a lot.
I have heard from many the unique content is not true. Unless your entire blog or website is copied, the page is unique. And I have heard it several times. But there still seems to be a great deal of supporters of it.

I wanted to ask a follow up question here, just to be sure I'm understanding. In the video, it looked like Ed was using this to post links and quick comments to different sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc). Can this also be use for Blog posts? If so, do you lose any formatting? Should all blog posts be submitted via Posterous?

Thanks

I just tested this out and answered my own questions. I added my Wordpress and Blogger sites to Prosperous. I emailed an article to Prosperous with links pointing back to my main site. Everything seemed to work perfectly. The only downfall I see is that I wasn't able to add tags and select a category.

I'm still not sure if I need to connect my main site to this or not. It seems like the inability to categorize and add keywords is a setback.
