Well mine are still up and ranking, I didn't go crazy or anything and didn't even get more than a couple people to go see, i just wanted to find out what would happen.

Yes I put my aff links in the posts as tiny url's.

Personally I really couldn't care if it all dumps and they ban us, the important part is the information that we have been GIVEN works, and works real well. If you want to go and build spam sites, knock yourself out. Like Ed and Caro have said, tumblr is NOT the holy grail. Move on and get over it. I know I am, theres lots more places to work this info....

I checked my accounts and they are still up.

I also created a new blog a few minutes ago with a +@googlemail.com.

No problems at all.

I'm based in the UK. Could this be an ip address location thing?

Cheers

Stuart

Nope, tumblr have decided that the 30DC is about spam and are culling accounts. I'm from the UK as well & my accounts got suspended too. I hadn't even started adding content.

Sounds like anything with an obvious "money phrase" is being pulled. I noticed that I can't even sign up again unless I delete my tumblr cookies.

Stuart, I don't think it's a location thing. I posted in another thread that Tumblr has posted the reason the blogs have been deleted (not suspended). So we really do need to move on to other formats.

In between attempts, I cleared all my private data, cookies, etc, so unless he is blocking ip addresses or something like that, it looks to me like tumblr isn't allowing any new blogs at this time. Has anyone else tried to set another one up, and if so, what happened?
Well no problems for me neither registering a new one neither with my existing ones.

May be the location is making a difference my ISP is in Germany.

@Scole

Yes I think Dan meant that the benefit of tumblr was that tumblr.com is re-indexed by google very frequently because it has X 1000 members, effectively adding pages to "it".

Because we were all effectively sub domains on the main master URL, we were just adding content to the tumblr mother ship.

In theory any host that uses sub.domains and is popular, should have the same benefit.

I am not sure how less impactful folders are, if at all ?
(i.e. sausage_subsite.tumbled.com vs tumbled.com/sausage_subsite)

If any one knows for sure, that would be handy.

What template did you use?

Right now there doesn't seem to be a common theme except they were all created around the same time and potentially had the same look.

I used the same blue one Ed showed.

Just grasping at straws here....

Mine is still up.

I only used tumblr for one phrase and moved on. (I only have one account with them too)

The next tumblr blog I create will be in a totally different niche.............we'll see how it goes.

Yeah, even Ed's has been suspended at this point. Nobody is safe

It IS like they say though. There are a lot more sites that rank well with Google, and a lot of free places that will be Web 2.0 that have "traction" so there is really nothing to worry about.

As I mentioned earlier, if you lost content, please try to retrieve it using Google's cached page feature, you may be able to get your writings back.
