I don't know much about the mechanics of this theory, but here is what I think happened:
"X" thousand people (30 DC'rs) all created one or more content-rich sites that link with affiliate links —> tumblr robots and/or people look at the drastic spike in new accounts and think "This is not normal, it must be some sort of robot making spam on our site." —> {Strongbad voice:} "BDELETED..." and then some more, "BDELETED... BDELETED... BDELETED..." Then they start singing "Meedle-me meedle-me meeeeee," just because they can (and because Strongbad plays such great air guitar they like to imitate him.). It isn't the end of the world, though. There are thousands (okay, maybe hundreds would be more accurate) of other sites out there you can apply the same techniques with—Ed said in the video [...you did watch, right?] that Tumblr is an example...

I had assumed that Ed/Dan had given them a 'heads up' Mine is also suspened, and I hadn't even loaded the content still setting up. But if you look on reddit there's a constant stream of 'my new site" links to tunblr so no wonder they are being defensive. nick |

I suspect it's just a matter of time before they get to the others....
One of mine got suspended...it was a 500 page article with two affiliate links at the end. Nothing pushy, just a subtle call to action...like a press release. THe keyword didn't start with "how to" I suspect we'll have to diversify across web 2.0 platforms. After all, tumblr isn't the holy grail. Check out the sticky at the top...Caro listed several other platforms we can use.... PLEASE READ THIS: Regarding Your Choice Of Hosting Platform Kevin |

Deleted stuff that had NO links (refferal or otherwise) Deleted stuff that didn't have "how to" Deleted stuff that had more than 3-4 posts Basically they deleted EVERYTHING that isn't "geek rambling about his day", type of content. |

Oh well. I wasn't a big fan of tumblr anyways! Nice clean site, but not my cup of tea! I'm a WordPress man myself.
