My tumblr is still up also. I have a good quality long post, one discrete link at the bottom and I don't have "how to" or "free" (another target) in the keyword phrase.

But looking at some of the other blogs, lots of them have good content if Tumblr actually read them. You'd think Tumblr would welcome good exposure and the hits.

Nice one Kazillionaire... is kazillion more than brazilian?
It's important to keep a sense of humor through this.

I realize we've all been working or tails off. Plenty of long, long nights away from family, packed with info-sensory overload. But it's reall just a matter of taking what you've learned and applying it in another platform.

Onwards and upwards. Looking forward to the success stories.

Tumblr hasn't done itself any favours here... the extra traffic can only do good things for them.

That said - bad content is bad content, maybe too many of us had bad content?

30DC went too big! lol, but guys, take it lightly... if you don't have your content saved somewhere thats just dumb... docs.google.com - simple

You hit the nail on the head here... you are learning a STRATEGY not just being fed a solution on a plate.

It doesnt matter what links you have on your Tumblr blog... it will get deleted if it even just looks like the others.

I made two Tumblr blogs, both had more content then the average 30Day Tumblr, and yet they both got suspended.

But the thing is... I NEVER had any links on them! I did not place any affiliate links, or any links at all on my Tumblr blog. I was going to, but I didnt yet.

So what does this tell you? They are just going around deleting new blogs that look like the others, no matter if they have aff links in them or not.

Here is an expert from that Marco guy's blog;

"I'm nuking Tumblr "affiliate marketing" spammers by the thousands. This is surprisingly fulfilling"

It sure does seem like he's not putting much effort into deleting only the spammy ones.

Thats my rant...

A little official comment would be nice around now guys.
One of mine started with "howto..." and didn't have content yet, but it got nuked. Another didn't start with "howto...", but it doesn't have any content yet either, so I suspect they'll get to it soon.

It will interesting to see what the powers that be have to say. This all can't be blamed on poor content or spam.

The social bookmarking sites appear to be starting to block Tumblr sites as well, which I am sure didn't make Tumblr too happy.

Put it this way - to a regular web user searching for "free speed reading", quality content is a comprehensive website dedicated to providing comprehensive, easy-to-follow and effective instructions on learning how to speed-read, all at zero cost. That's most web users would mean by "quality content"

That is NOT compatible with the 30DC.

What we were shown at freespeedreading.tumblr.com and howtobecomeaweddingplanner.tumblr.com is not compatible with that.

Why? Because at this point in the challenge, we are trying to get people to buy downloadable info products.

So, "quality content" has a completely different meaning to US than it does to TUMBLR - because we are trying to provide the best content we can that still gets people to buy a downloadable info product - so to Tumblr, we are SPAMMERS, even if our blogs have "quality content".

Come on, let's be honest about what we're doing here, there's no shame in it. We are trying to write what is essentially advertisement copy. Tumblr decided they didn't want to host it for free, because their website is for personal mini-blogs, not advertisement copy.

It's all very well saying we shouldn't be writing advertisement copy, and that's not what we've been told to do, but when you write something with the intention of getting someone to buy something, which we are all doing, that's an advertisement.

To TUMBLR, downloadable info products on sales-letter pages is CRAP, even if they have lots of good info in them, because sales-letter pages and e-books are traditionally associated with spam. There's lots of spam trying to sell them, even if we're trying to NOT spam.

I'm not bashing the 30DC, but I wish people would be more HONEST about what we're doing. We're not providing the best content we can - of course we're not, because we're trying to get people to buy e-books! The best content we could provide would be the information in the e-books!
I guess it depends on your mindset. The hidden message behind Ed's teaching (IMO) is that Ed is actually teaching us the fundementals of running a business online.

You have a responsibility is to provide great content. Ed has spent thousands upon thousands of dollars getting info books created that fill the need of the market. He has the mindset that he's not trying to trick people or post crap to get people to buy but instead running a business.

If you take his teachings seriously you'll realize that you're building an online business. Sure at the moment it doesn't seem that way because lets face it $10 in 30 day is not much of a business.

Also if you remember Ed said that the goal of the 30DC is not to sell affiliate products, it's much more than that. We are just using affiliate programs right now to test the market to see if the market is willing to pull out their credit card. There are many markets that people wouldn't buy your product no matter what it is.

So far of the 5 Tumblrs I had only one has been deleted and that was a "how to" but I am expecting the others to go soon.

I looked around at quite a few of the other 30dc Tumblrs yesterday and there were a lot of spammy looking ones (not following Eds teaching at all) so can't say I am surprised.

I started putting most of my content onto other sites yesterday as I had a feeling it would all go pear shaped - didn't expect it to be this fast tho!
