Hey

I think humour is allowed on the forum Alek......it will be a sad day when it isn't.

The risk with humour is that it can be misinterpreted....and it looks as if that is what happened this time. Others have used 'controversial' headlines in their forum posts to encourage views and I'm sure Ed's mate Gary did this on more than one occasion. Unfortunately, this time it appears to have been taken in a way other than you intended.

This is a pitfall of electronic communication - a huge proportion of what we say in the real world is backed up by body language but that is missing in email, forum posts etc. All we have as a substitute are some smilies...and they are not the same.

To move on to the subject of your mail. Stats are quite simply a nightmare...and not just in the internet world.

Where did the quotaton come from? 'There are lies, damned lies and statistics'?

Amazon I think is notoriously unreliable. I have deliberately tested my Amazon affiliate links - or asked friends to do so for me - and it has frequently been the case that no credit has been given. Clickbank can be quirky too.

Judy has made a generous offer - which she may regret if it turns her into our resident stats expert :-) I think it will help if you get some pointers regarding the most reliable way to assess what is happening for your sites.

And, please don't be put off from posting. I think your intentions were misunderstood ;-)

Any idea what's going on?

This is happening from anyone from amazon associates to directrack programs up to clickbank programs!
i have same issue! my TDC stats tracker says 2 and on amazone i have 18. which doesn't make any sense

Default My thoughts on the lying comment

I make no judgement. I take you at your word.

The problem with making a comment like that in a post is that you can't see your face or hear the way you make the comment. Sometimes humor and irony do not translate well on the printed page.

Default Don't disrespect "The Secret Sauce"

I remember the night well...

The night I acquired the Secret Sauce.

Under the cover of darkness I crept into Dan Raines estate in Second Life and liberated the Secret Sauce (stole it.. oh the shame) from a private bungalow.

I sipped from the sacred bottle and was changed forever.

It's power is immeasurable.

This is the story and an actual picture of.... The Secret Sauce. Beware its power. You have been warned.

I Have The Secret Sauce

Nice one Tom!

Uhm, I think people are being WAY to harsh on the "lying" thing. Geesh... I think it's just as negative to rip someone a new ventilation orifice for an attempt at cheeky humor....

Oh, and perhaps you might want to consider PM'ing someone if you want to reprimand then like a child?

Closing this as it is a thread from last year. Great that jj1877 used the search facility, just need to keep an eye on the dates when posting to threads
