Yes - 5 minutes, and no editing facility. These are standard limitations to Jing.

They can't give away everything for free - they have to give people a reason to buy Camtasia

For Mac-dreamers, check out Apple Store (U.S.) - Welcome to the Apple Store - you can generally pick up refurbished Mac's in there cheap.

Apparently the secret with buying Mac's is to get one that has all the features that you want... but a low amount of RAM... RAM is fairly cheap and easy to install - and it seems to be a high-margin item in Macbooks etc.

Re: Cadillacs and Macs... Your standard MacBook will do MOST of the things that a MacBook Pro will do - the really high-end video editing stuff is probably the major difference.

Camstudio is a free screen recording package for the PC, and does a reasonable job:

His link isnt working because he made a mistake on the link itself:

http://www.http//preneurmarketing.co...mmediate-edge/

he has http://www.http//

Correct link is here:

A Look Inside The Immediate Edge | Preneur Marketing Blog - The Blog of Entrepreneur Pete Williams

Default Screenflow Rocks

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd add a plug for Screenflow... I've started using it recently on my Macbook to produce much nicer videos for my new blog.

It is absolutely fantastic! Nothing compares...

The limitations are:

G4
OSX Leopard
Graphics card capable of running quartz extreme

However with lower spec machines (i.e. older than a year or two), then some features are not possible such as the mouse and window zooming effect.

However these features can be "mimicked" using other features in screenflow.

Hi Nato,

I have the latest release Macbook (March 08? I think it was) It is not a Macbook Pro and it runs effortlessly. I find it far easy to use than iMovie. Give it a try. You can download a trial version (just google it) but I had to have the full version after half an hour of testing it out.

I love it! Oh and I love my Mac!

I got 4 gigs of Ram for my MacBook for 100 bucks online, and now I can make AMAZING Photoshop pictures, as well as handling Firefox AND Flock AND Photoshop running all at once.

Yeah, get the 512 RAM, upgrade later. Remove 3 screws, pop out the old RAM, put in the new one, rescrew everything, and your Mac is good to go! (Insert racing sound here...)
