Thumbs up Market Samurai Feedback and a question...

In a sentence: what took me 2-3 hours last month has just been accomplished (more effectively too) in 2-3 MINUTES

:O haha!

To my question: when you apply a filter to your keyword analysis results, and click analyse again, does it resubmit the query to google, or just work with the data you already have downloaded?

I'm worried about submitting too make queries and getting banned.

If it is the same as in beta testing, if you have a list of keywords and you apply a filter then it should work with the data provided, as long as that data was broader than those parameters to begin with.

For example, if your original analysis allowed anything under 100,000 competing pages and more than 0 SEO traffic through, then narrowing it down to under 50,000 and more than 80 SEO traffic will only need the data already provided.

Thanks Lisa that clears it up.

One other thing - is it more important to concentrate and limit by the SEO traffic (the prediction for the no1. spot on the SERPS) or by the total searches?

I always traditionally thought the latter..

I think Ed, Dan and Robert will explain more on this as they teach us how to analyse the research so far, so I shall decline answering that one

Oh my, the advances in technology in one short year! I loved last year's challenge and the GTrends tool which made it much easier to research, I'm in love with Market Samurai already. I'd love a crystal bowl to see what next year will see us doing.

Tell me about it. I'd almost forgotten sitting there with a scrap of paper held up to my monitor trying to judge traffic next to Male Yeast Infection until Allison mentioned it. If it hadn't been for the lovely Mike MIndel and his Wordtracker team I might have spent 6 months doing it that way

And previous years there was a lot more guess work and we had to spend money just to test a market! Spend money during the 30DC? Things have certainly changed

Hi Joss - I think this thread will be relevant to your question.

Market Samurai Not Bringing Back All SEOC Results

It basically reminds us that we are meant to be analyzing competition for a small number of keywords - as we refine our list down.

AND that the previous results are kept in the cache - you are not re-searching for those

No, Market Samurai retrieves data that it's already collected from your project cache.

The latest version of Market Samurai (v0.53) has smarter filtering options that reduce query load too.
