Default Use The "Search" Function Of The Forum

The are a number of repeated questions being asked on the forum. While people are here to help, it isn't fair for people to be answering the same questions over and over again.

If you have a question, have a quick search for an answer before you post. There will almost always be someone who has had the exact same question. You'll get your answer faster, and save the moderators and other forum users a lot of time.

Cheers,
Nez

Perhaps this needs to be stickied, and reiterated by Ed in a video?

I typed in a 7 word search, and got the following message...

"The search term you specified (can) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.

If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific."

Is there a step I'm missing?

It may mean minimum letter length within a word i.e. if you have a word in your search term with 3 letters it throws a wobbly (gets upset).

Try that and see what happens.

Got it... I was typing in SEO, and it was "throwing a wobbly"

Thanks for the fast response.

Default question on how to use the search engines

Caro had recommended that I use the search engine because I had posted a question that has been covered before. And she is right, I should definitely do that.

I got the same thing that Keith got.
But when I went to the search engine to type my question that has to do with RSS feeds and got a response that said the search terms have to be at least 4 words.
I was trying to search RSS Feeds.

What is the best way around this?

Ah and I just 're-found' you by doing a Search that lead me back to here.

The first tip is: don't give up.

Second tip: "put the phrase in brackets" , so I typed in "rss feeds"

Third Tip: pick the posts option as opposed to threads - unless you know that it's a thread you are looking for.

Thanks for being gracious to the request to search first

Caro
