Disclaimer: I'm a newbie, and stumbled onto this myself.
I was changing themes in wordpressdirect when ONE theme (and I don't remember which) caused the 'This theme is released under creative commons licence, all links in the footer should remain intact' message. Subsequently, I got that for ANY theme I tried. Here's how I fixed it. I went to the cpanel on my hosting (HostGator). Navigated to /public_html/wp-content/themes, and DELETED all the themes except the two or three that I had installed previously and knew worked. When I went to the site, it was completely blank, but at least the themes/footer message was gone! Then I returned to wordpressdirect control panel and asked for another theme that I knew worked, asked to change the theme, et voila. Hope this helps, Best, Michael |

I rejected a theme - can't remember the name, something like golf balls - because the footer was encrypted and it was forbidden to delete or change it. It had 3 links in it, 1 was ok, but the other 2 went to competing products.
Good idea for the future? Get a theme designed with your links embedded and offer it for free???? |

You can still remove the links whilst leaving a link to the author of the theme. I think that is more in keeping with the spirit of the CCL than having random links inserted in your site. Anyway, have a look at the tutorial if you need help: http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com/fo...wordpress.html |
