Don't feel bad about falling behind... as with the 30DC there really isn't a "behind" to fall upon. I've taken 4 days looking for a good niche to go with, and am 7 days back right now myself. The important thing is to do it at your own pace.. a pace that you feel comfortable with. If you can hook up with others who are behind, that's great, as you can help each other. Drop me a PM if you want to exchange email / IM details.
Ed is gracious to keep the information and videos on the site after the 30 days are over, so even if we do drop back, they will always be there to catch up on later. So definitely don't feel bad

Thanks for your reply. The 30DC was definitely created as a long term strategy for online entrepreneurs, but I feel I am missing some of the finer points the more I fall behind. I am wondering if there are any strategies for playing catch up without sacrificing information and results. There is no one in my "real" world who understands the magnitude of the 30DC and what it means to me and my business. All they see are the dark circles under my eyes, the unkempt house and the dirty clothes! Thank goodness for this forum. Members here can't see all of that, and more importantly, most challengers here understand! Last edited by Mom2One; 08-13-2008 at 06:45 AM. |

Hi Mom2One,
Thank you for your honesty and very elegant way of sharing how you are feeling. I do feel that what you are expressing is perfectly normal. And understandable. It's like you can see the boat leaving the wharf as you run up to the jetty. Then thing is another boat is coming by soon, and whilst it may be your first time on it, there will also be others who have put up their blogs and unfortunately do not get the traffic they desire and/or conversions, who will join you on it. This typically happens around day 14 (I think it may be a bit later this year). I think you have the right attitude re commitment to the process and achieving the desired outcome. All you can do is keep on re-committing, actually consciously reminding yourself, that no matter what hurdles you face, you're committed to the outcome. And then go away from the weekend and allow yourself to relax and know that you will come back and take action again. Asbjorn - who's a beloved member of our community - in 2005 - he took 88 days to make his $1! Talk about committed. And he even went through the whole scare of the bombs on the London Underground that year - which even though he wasn't on the train (he was meant to be), the unsettling feeling of being lucky not to have been on it, could have derailed him. And no he stuck with it. Different people each year have different experiences. And some find different parts of the process easier/harder than others. You are in the midst of your unique experience. Maybe observe it in a detached manner - as if someone was looking in, completely uncritically, like 'oh ok, so that's what's happening for them' and then just keep on taking action. In the end the action will pay off - you WILL achieve your result - NEVER EVER EVER doubt that (doubt is the enemy )Wishing you well - I believe in you - and I know you believe in you too! ![]() Caro

Thank you so much for sharing. Words flow from you easily and eloquently. What a gift. I love your advice about detachment. Being able to step back from your life and circumstances is a valuable skill. Being grateful and living in the moment is another. As I read the original post again, I noticed that it contained a lot of problems that needed to be solved...one of the best ways to go about finding a new niche! Thanks for stopping by this thread and adding your insight. It is most appreciated!

Hi Mom2One,
I am right there with you on Day 9. Sure, it's hard when everybody seems to be ahead of you, but don't feel bad. I think, it only an illusion ![]() Cheers, Redpony

I just now caught up. Think of these skills as lifelong and soak it all up.

I definitely feel your angst. I was in the same boat (actually on day seven, going into today) and, believe it or not, I am completely caught up.
I work a 60-hour week in real life and have other responsibilities that I have to take care of too. One thing that helped me was to print out the pdf for each lesson and read them during the few down times in the day. That way, I was able to complete the TDC work on my pages as I was listening to the videos in the background, pausing and rewinding them here and there when I needed clarification. Although it took me twelve hours to catch up today, I can tell you it is definitely worth it. My keyword phrase is fairly competitive but my blog jumped from oblivion to the first page on practically every type of keyword combination I could come up with in a matter of hours! Hang in there; you just may get an epiphony in the middle of the day that shows you the way! |

I will start day 9 tomorrow, and I feel your pain. It's a lot to take in. Specially when you have family responsibilities. Thanks for the post. More than making a $1 my goal has been to learn something new, and I fell like I learned A LOT in these 8 days already. The example that Caro gave about Asbjorn completing the challange in 88 days is encouraging because you can enjoy the learning process without the pressure of a deadline. I wish you the best! Take care.
