Yeah, I couldn't log in either. I deleted all my cookies, 'cause I couldn't tell which one was for Tumblr. Here are instructions on how to do it for several different browsers (I did it in both Flock and IE7; use the instructions for Mozilla Firefox for Flock):

I sent an e-mail to the Tuimblr support team telling them I had original content and only one link to my blog (I did NOT link to an affiliate product sales page, but my blog obviously has links to one). I asked why I was suspended. Their answer was: "We don't affiliate marketing on Tumblr, even to your blog." Must be a word missing, 'cause it doesn't quite make sense.

Point is, I'm just gong to forget Tumblr, and use other sites. I could try creating a new account with a different email address, but why bother?

The meatheads at Tumblr sent me my suspension notice. Since my keywords all include references to affiliate marketing I was an easy mark. It's their arrogant tone that I found irritating. But life is too short, and things here are too awesome; we will press on with much better company to come.

In some defence of a decision which has turned on its head.

Like almost everyone last year, I too was tumblr slapped. This year I followed the guidelines on the video, the only thing I haven't done is add an rss feed. I have made my posts, more akin to a long twitter and so far, fingers crossed. all is well. Either way, I have received traffic from my one link to my blog and am getting some tumblr love along the way.

I was extremely sceptical of tumblr and recalling what happened last year, went into it with jaundiced eyes. So kept the initial entry short and spent but a few minutes writing and setting up the article. My follow up posts have taken less than a minute to write, each. The tumblr page is ranking well and I can see the reason for the gamble.

I know the pain of sites going upside down, but for the time being I am ok with tumblr and either way, my small time investment has yielded me some traffic to where I want it to go anyway.

I don't feel the 30dc team need feel any reason to apologise, it happens.

I still expect my tumblr to be pulled at some stage, until then...

Anyways, the decision has now been taken by the 30dc team to move people away from tumblr, but I do hope the training page stays up, because not everyone is receiving an immediate slap and for those who don't, over the coming year, it is worth running the blog.

I almost feel embarressed for you guys. My tumblr blog from LAST YEAR is still up and running and holding #8 spot for it's keyword.

You all realise you have to put decent content on the blog?? Not just spammy, buy my product, put your hand in your wallet and give me your money.

I never got hit last year and I'm still untouched this year. You gotta put in the time and give excellent content and you won't have a problem.

Great you are holding your hand up but this is NOT YOUR FAULT.

I think all older members of 30 DC (especially from last year) knew this could be risky and if the newer guys were reading the forum I am sure they would understand.

Glad that I am a day behind. I too was caught in last year's Tumblr slap even though I had good content. I may have had too many links although the links were to my non affiliate main website. I was surprised to hear that Tumblr had been brought back into the 30DC mix.

I planned to do another Tumblr using only 1 link to my main, non-affiliate website, but I think that I'll wait a while.
