Default Google Analytics Problem - Tracking not installed

I have followed the instructions for setting up Analytics to the letter but can not get it to work. I have double and tripple checked the code from Google to WordPress and that is OK. My Wordpress URL agrees with what I have entered on Analytics. I still keep getting "Tracking not installed" Can anyone give me some tips on what I need to do to fix this? Thanks.

Check the page source code of your blog .. Go to flock, tab View, find "page source" left click ... look for following code

Is there content like this .... "<!-- tracker added by Ultimate Google Analytics plugin v1.6.0: OraTransplant » Ultimate Google Analytics plugin for WordPress -->"

normally its at the base of the page.

a/ Make sure its there

b/ Make sure the code is correct ie code analytics gave you to paste inside WP direct ... code should read like "UA-123456-6"

Without knowing above its hard to say whats gone wrong! Post back and I can help from there.

Regards

Default gotcha

Watch out that you are not logged in to the WP Blog itself (not WPDirect) otherwise the plugin will not show the code. It turns it off so you don't get statistics on admin edits etc included in your figures.

Hi,

You dont actually need to use the plug-in to install google analytics.

If you open either the footer.php or the header.php in your WPD direct themes folder u can paste the google analytics script into it yourself.

You must make sure its pasted in directly BEFORE the </body> tag.

If you need help i can be contacted on OOVOO using soundmagus as
my nickname.

thanks

Mark

I somehow had a problem pasting the Analytics code into the WPDirect plugin that caused extra spaces to appear. Like "UA-123456-6" became "UA- 123456-6". It was hard to spot.

I have this problem each time, i solve it by going to google analytics and clicking on edit which is the the middle right of the screen. On the top right of the bar there should be a check status option, do that and it should now function fine.
