Think about it...every installation over and over again with more than one blog is Hell on Earth. Try out...you figure it out.

Well, I have four blogs and sooo happy about the service what WBD is giving. Still, it's in beta (far as I know) and I'm already thrilled from the service they provide.

This is my opinion and you can disagree if you like, but I'm really happy with this.
I don't think anyone is in disagreement with you! You don't want to do it yourself skill or no skill that's fine by us all I'm sure. There are however an intermediate group of us who do want the control ourselves and have the skills as maybe you do to, to make that happen!

The point initially raised was really just asking what was the difference using the WPD to using WP and adding our seo etc plugins! A fair question!

Speaking for myself I would find it a backward step using a service like this as I do know WP very well now days. I would rather invest the money saved in my online education.

As I intend to focus, I won't be doing mass installs so I don't mind the little bit of time it takes to sort an install.

For those who haven't or don't want to, the option is there to pay for WPD and of course I think there is a free option. No worries that's fine for anyone who wants to go down this route.

Personally though if I am investing my time and effort I want the total control that hosting and installing gives me, at the same time it was of interest to know if there was anything major different between the two options.

Time saving isn't an issue for me that is minimal. If the only real thing is the auto poster widget then I am happy with my decision to not use WPD.

Using WP2.6 as I do today it is a breeze to use I do it willingly every single day. It is far from "not fun"!

My final thoughts over and out!
Thanks
Lynne

The difference is in the "speed of implementation." The power of the tool is in the automated content generation.

In the end, the difference between ultra-successful implementers and moderately successful implementers is how much they get done.

In IM, any niche can change instantly. One moment, everything is great, the other, you're wiped out. WPD is not perfect, but neither is any tool. In the end, good enough is good enough.

It empowers you to take MASSIVE action. Would you earn more if you had 4 blogs, or 4,000? Think about it. This is why Immediate Edgers are not talking about the content generation features on the 30DC forums . . . because they're killing it and laughing all the way to the bank.

The posts that I read make valid points, but I suggest that everyone open their minds to a paradigm change. It could change your life.

PS I'm not pontificating. I'm a naysayer that opened his mind and changed his paradigm for the better. Give it a chance and it could change your life.

I would have liked to use WPD cause I really wanted to only concentrate on the teachings here and let the tools do the rest.

Unfortunately WPD did not work for me . Since I couldn't find a domain name I was pleased with, I took a more generic name and use subdomains with my keyphrases in it which I set up at HostGator.com. But WPD was not able to cope with such a configuration.

So I had to set up WordPress on my own, which is very easy on Hostgator. Just click. But then I had to go for all the plugins, search for a nice theme, look for a solution for that spammy footers and so on...

Since I never set up a WP-blog before, it was quite a learning curve and so I agree - IT TAKES A LOT OF TIME! Hey I've done it now, and I learned a lot. Now I have everything on the right place for the next try, which will save me a lot of time.

Now I know, what the plugins are for, what they do with my blog, how to configure them, and I found some nice ones that do not come with WPD I think it was worth the time. So even if one goes for WPD in future, cause IT IS a timesaver, I would suggest to take that learning curve at least once!

I considered going the route you did, but went forward with WPD. Since it imports some of the same theme options you have with Wordpress, the issues of spam links in the footer are still there. Indeed, that may be the reason it took Google 5 days to index my site, even though it only took me 1 day to remove the footer links. Also, I don't know if WPD has been glitchy for others, but I've had trouble with that ap dropping out text formats and changing link codes on me. As a reader of this post, you probably assume this is operator error, and so did I at first. But I found the easiest solution to my issues was to manage the posts and formatting via the Wordpress admin panel.

I like all the plugins and how easy wpd sets up, but I have a question about the automatic poster.

Can you set something or do something that will only allow the video's and text messages in English? If that could be done I would turn it on, but I found to many things that I couldn't understand or read and had to go in and delete manually anyway.
