Default squidoo and anchor text in comments

Do authors of the squidoo lens have the option to remove your html from the post. Because it seems all that I have posted they have removed the anchor text or I am doing it wrong. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated I have tested the html in a htm document on my pc and it works fine.

Yes, one of the options for lens comments is to strip out the HTML. Some people do, some people don't. Depends on the lensmaster. Some people just delete out the comment altogether if it has any HTML in it.

So would it be better just to post it as http://www.nichekeyword.com and leave it at that so that at least accept it. Because now when they accept it the title say When you get a chance check out my niche keyword blog and readers don't know how to get to it because the html has been stripped. I have also noticed that most people are willing to accept a squidoo lens before a blog.

The guest book is for comments, not advertising. Leave a comment only if you really have something to say. If your sincere then the natural human reaction of other lensmaster's will emerge. They will visit your lens and if they like it they may rate it and possible leave feed back.

Ranking has a ton to do with how your lens progresses.

Squidoo user's are a tight group of people and are very keen to "gaming". I do not allow html in any of my comment sections and If I see a web address posted with comments I delete the comment.

Your user name is linked to your profile. In your profile (bio) you can use html code to link back to your blog.

Be real and you'll get a lot farther with the community. If you go in with the idea of me, me and me you won't fair well. Remember that your using the power of Squidoo (entire site) not just one lens.

well I am being real I have an interest in the lenses I am posting on as they are related. This is what we are being taught to anchor text so I am just following whats being taught.

My question is should i just leave the link and do away with the html?

So I guess I am confused I thought that idea was to create backlinks to your blog.

The point of the particular lesson was about getting a backlink from a high authority page. So you want the HTML using your keyword as anchor text. This would be the ultimate goal. However, you aren't going to be able to do that on every Squidoo lens because lensmasters allow different things in their guestbooks. And some don't even have guestbooks.

Options:
  1. Leave your comment with the HTML anchor text to just get a backlink and hope the lensmaster leaves it. (Look at other comments left to see if they have in the past.)
  2. Leave your comment with the HTML and include the URL written out. (This is most likely to get you deleted/banned.)
  3. Just leave the URL with your comment. Possibly will get through - if they allow HTML, it will show as a link, just not with your anchor text. If they don't allow HTML, the URL will at least show up.

I would suggest leaving thoughtful comments on more than one lens to cover your bases. As web20guy points out, if you leave the comment while logged in to Squidoo, your username will click through to your profile page and you can have additional information there about your blog, etc. Of course, though, that's only if you leave a comment that gets through moderation.
