Default Amazon Associate Link, the Easier and Faster Way...

Here's a tip to create shorter and cleaner Amazon Associate link for any product faster.

Code:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1884883192/yourassociatetag-20
Legend:
- Bold: remains the same in every URL
- Green: the ASIN/ISBN-10 number (see below for explanation)
- Red: your associate ID tag (see below)

The ASIN number is available in every product in Amazon. Scroll down to the Product Details section, you will find it there. Actually it is also embedded in the URL of the product page you are viewing, but that can be harder to interpret.

So when you browse a product page you are interested in, copy the ASIN number and change the green section above with the ASIN.

The associate ID tag is your affiliate ID. It is available when you login into your Amazon associate account, at the top left hand corner.

So when you substitute the red text with your associate ID, all you have to change is the green, ASIN number to get the right link to any Amazon product.

For book, it would be ISBN-10 number, NOT ISBN-13.

Now you can create your own associate ID without having to login into your account.

P.S. It works, I sell a lot of Amazon products and generate URLs using this method.

I've tried that with Amazon.co.uk and it works. Never tested .ca or others though.

Cool tip, Hendry!

Wish I knew that before I did my first TDC tracker link.

Better late than never, tho!

Thanks.

I also use tinyurl.com to reduce the length as well. Much shorter especially when you put on the tracker page.

Hey Hendry,
I'm writing a book called "Hendry's Internet Marketing Tips". I was wondering if you would like a free copy.

@morleyl: Yes, it isn't supposed to replace TDC Stats Tracker. The link above doesn't track the source of the click, unless you use specific associate ID, so you still need that. The purpose is to save time from loging in into your account just to generate a link.

If you want to direct users to a search page, or create any other ad creative, you still need to login though.

@IMStrong: LOL. Thanks and yes please. (although I don't think I have contributed so much it would fill in a book).
