Default WPD Themes w/ 125x125 Ad Holders?

Hey everyone,

Has anyone else installed a WPD blog theme that has the 125x125 Ad place holders? I have and cannot figure out for the life of me how to add the ads I want to into the blog. I have searched a number of forums and found nothing. I emailed WPD and they said the only way was to edit the CSS code which is not very easy. Does anybody have any ideas???? It seems like such a waste of good themes if they aren't very user friendly! I don't know how long I'll be paying $37/mo for a service that has a bunch of not very user friendly templates....

Thanks in advance for anybody's advice or help!

SM

Default Ads in Themes

Regretfully, you don't get to pick which ads Google places on your site. You can only make sure your adsense code is there so you get credit; Google picks the ads based on the keywords they find on your site.

I found a great theme for my personal blog, where I was not going to advertise -- but if you try to turn the adsense off, the theme breaks (Boo!!) So I made the ads as small as possible, and learned to live with it. Google puts some of the strangest ads on there (since it's not optimized for anything). If only we could tell Google the types of ads we want!

sadly many of the themes require some level of teki knowledge to populate the pre positioned ad blocks which is a pain.

look for the theme designers web site (if they have one!) and send an email to any contact address that you may find within the theme code tho these are usualy visible in the theme footer.

good theme designers will include an ad management section within the blogs admin section so it could be worthwhile checking the blogs admin directly.

im guessing that multiple themes are offered to increase diversity, this helps to ensure that we are not all using the same themes, which would not be good for seo etc.

just a thought, where does the WPD adsense settings (under advanced in the site settings page) place the adsense code?

good luck!

The themes are very user friendly, just depends on what the user knows.
Why would the ad blocks be there if they couldn't be used?
I found how to use them with a little digging around in wp-admin.
If you are not comfortable utilizing the functionality of the themes, you need to find a theme that is less advanced.
