Default Plug ins

It would be nice to have a list of must have plug ins and recommended plug ins..instead of the usual "WordpressDirect is great"

I think many of us do not use wpd and there are so many variations of plug ins it would be nice to see what the leadearship team recommends.

Also, after reviewing the 1st Q & A, It was mentioned using the various plug ins for more than one site would become cumbersome.

The plug ins could be downloaded into a single folder then simply uploaded using a simple ftp client

Amen!

Here are the ones I've been using which I believe are consistent with the ones used in WPD.

AddThis Social Bookmarking Widget
All in One SEO Pack
Category Posts Widget
cforms
Google Analytics for WordPress (or Ultimate Google Analytics)
Google XML Sitemaps
Pretty Link
Wordpress Duplicate Content Cure
Wordpress Video Plugin
WP-SpamFree
WP adm-anager
WP tags to Technorati

Anyone have any others?

Let me know if you have trouble finding them and I'll track down the links but I think they're all in the WP Plugin Directory.

Hope that helps,

Susan

Thanks for the input after review both.. I realize I am using most.

AddThis ---------------cial Bookmarking Widget (drop down) I use
onlywire plug in and share this
Adsense Manager - I never had an adsense manager that worked like I
wanted(i just put in codes) I'll look at this one
All-in-One SEO Pack --- Check
Category Posts widget--Check
cForms -------------------Check
Ultimate Google Analytics--this is new to me...
Google XML Sitemaps----Check
Sale Offer Ads Plug-in (written by us)----
Sale Offer Ads Widget (written by us)----
Wordpress Duplicate Content Cure-------only wire plugin might
have a similar feature..have to check
Wordpress Video Plug-in ------------New to Me
WPD Ad and banner plugin (written by us)-------
WP-PostRatings-------------New to Me
WP-PostRatings Widget-----New to Me
WP-sticky (otherwise known as Stickyposts) --Didn't really understand it - I create a static home page and have post go to a blog Page. I think it would be cool to have current post under the static post. (That is how I have a phpnuke site set up)

WP tags to Technorati----Check
Pretty Link ----------------Haven't been able to find. I understand this is some type of link tracking?

Thanks for the info I have learned I am using several, need to look at some, and revisit a few.

I also use
smart pinger(suppossed to stop those re-pings of edited posts
statpress reloaded

I also have a privacy policy plugin--Google seems to always be changing terms of service.. I hate adsense..but get a few books from it and try to keep it in miniscule positions

Thanks again

In addition to Susan's list, I have the following enabled:

Contact Form 7
MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer (helps you to control pinging)
Odiogo Listen Button (I love this - it provides an audio version of your blog post with a "listen now" button at the top of the post)
Sale Offer Ads Plugin
WordPress Database Backup (which I wrote about here: Get WP plugin "WordPress Database Backup"
WP-Sticky
WP Super Cache

Yes. It replaced the 30dc tracker for this year's 30dc. You can download it here: WordPress › Pretty Link « WordPress Plugins

The direct link to the post is Day 6 - Video 1 - WordPress Direct

The Sale Offer Ads Widget is of course a widget & listed in wp-admin under Appearance>Widgets (presumably a result of having the Sale Offer Ads plugin enabled). And the WPD Ad and banner plugin is only viewable when logged into the Wordpress Direct interface.

Brian, I'm wondering which privacy policy plugin you use - wordpress.org doesn't have one in their plugin directory?
