Default Mike Filsaime's free report

I don't understand why he wants to ship paper products of this report. Why can't he just send pdfs of the report?

Mike is a great marketer so I am sure he has a reason to try and collect mail addresses but doesn't make sense from an environmental point of view.

He may be a great marketer, but he has one of the most annoying, in-your-face sites that I've ever encountered. As far as I'm concerned, when you're offering me a freebie in order to collect email addresses do it on one short and sweet page and then tempt me back with on-going emails. When you keep popping new pages in my face with "great alternate offers" then my immediate response is to say "Screw you, I don't have time for this crap" and move through the site without looking at anything else.

Just my feelings about some of the annoyances I come across.

My guess is that he wants to scare off mere freebie seekers. You have to pay S&H and call them to cancel the magazine - that's too bothersome for many people and thus he weeds them out before they even opt-in. Buuut, maybe I am wrong and there is a totally different reason.

Cool

I've got the original 7 Figure Code that came with 16 DVD's and two gigantic Notebooks chock full of information. My guess is that Mike just wanted to "over-deliver" like he always does.

The Code was filled with great info from the likes of Brad Fallon, Ken McCarthy and Rich Schefren. Now Mike is adding the maps and the Butterfly. All this for only $8.00... I paid $700. This is a no brainer....who cares how many pages you have to click through.

As far as the Magazine...I'd love to get a chance to look at it Free. If I don't like it...It's only a phone call to cancel:-)

Morning

8 pages of oto's and combinations of packages. It reminded me of old ktel offers
or infomercials.

If that's great marketing then I guess I won't make it.

You have to be careful what is checked or included in your order. Order? I thought it was free.

I unsubscribed from his lists a while ago but I thought I would get this free one.

I remember now why I unsubscribed

I almost ordered the book but I was worried about the recurring billing attached to the offer. I'd still like to check it out but would have preferred to supply my name and email address and download a .PDF

Maybe even a once off PayPal payment or something?

One common tactic used by internet marketers is to offer something with great value for a very small price in an effort to better qualify leads that spend money.

By putting a price tag (even a small one) on the report, product, or whatever it is you are able to weed out the freebie seekers and fill your list with people that you KNOW will take out their credit card and spend something.

Usually, if a person spends $7-$8 for a report they're qualified as being "financially" available to you. Knowing that you have a spender it's very likely that if you offer a 2nd product at a higher price, even in the checkout process for the cheaper one that they will buy. Even if they don't buy the 2nd offer, you're building a list of spenders as opposed to freebie seekers, which gives you a much higher conversion rate later on.

It's all in the “Self-Liquidating Offers” report that Ryan Deiss put out in April

Download “Self-Liquidating Offers” Special Report | Wholesale Traffic System <-- not an affiliate link (it's free)

I'm not saying this is what Mike Filsaime is doing, but it's seems very similar.

And remember, one of the most important things in internet marketing is focusing on what you're doing. If I were you (especially if you're new) I would not sign up for anything outside of the 30DC until it's over. If you put all your focus on the 30DC you will learn skills that will work and make you money. So focus, focus, focus!

oh yeah, and have fun!

I think Wavetowake is right about the focus focus element. I declined Mike's offer.

However as a matter of interest I tried unchecking the checked box for the $29 free magazine trial and was interested that Mike Filsame had written a justification of "why the check box has to be checked". Actually quite a useful little tutorial in itself. Worth a look for the inquisitive.

However I have enough email 'noise' coming in every hour and the 30DC is quite enough education for the time being.

oh man, I didn't even notice that by DEFAULT the $8 shipping purchase subscribes you to a $29 a month newsletter that starts bill you 30 days AFTER you get the $8 report (plenty of time for you to forget that you got the report)... i just briefly looked at it the first time I visited.

wow, so when you try to uncheck it you get ANOTHER SALES LETTER on why it HAS to be checked in order for you to get the 7 figure thing for "free"...

Wow, that promotion just made my day. Funniest thing I've seen this month. This is the quote of the month for sure

----------------------------------------------------
#1, why must the check box be "on"?

It is there to draw your eye to the fact that we are giving you an issue for free...
----------------------------------------------------

That's a new all-time low for me. LOL, I don't think I've ever seen a sneakier (better) tactic. It's one of the oldest marketing tricks in the book, they've done it on TV for years. Offer a free product, you pay the shipping on a credit card in 30 days you start being billed for something else.

He does give a number you can call to cancel the billing but... there are still a number of people that will forget to cancel and sure you can say it's the customer's fault for not canceling but is it reeeeeeally?

It makes sense and I'm sure tons of people will fall for it and accidentally start paying Mike Filsaime $29 a month and who know? maybe it's a kick a** newsletter?

I've seen the newsletter tactic before with Joel Comm and Matt Bacak and it is easy to cancel which I did with all 3 of them. It is still bs to me.

What I was talking about was the reams of pages with offers. Overkill for me. I was expecting some from previous experience with Mike's stuff but it felt like he was saying:

"Oh see how smart I am by offering you something for free and then making money on you with stuff you may or may not know you are ordering and then I will make this into a product on how to make money by giving away free stuff and then selling you that product."

I also can't believe the number of guys that I didn't expect it from who are promoting this like JR and JW and ED. I have asked them if they had tried to get the free report and if they thought it was smart marketing like the promo text in the emails but no replies so far.

The only reason I ventured back into mikes stuff was that Rich Schefrin was going to pay the $8 shipping. He gave a code that was on the 8th page to get your shipping credit.

Why can't everyone just be up front and give free if they say they are like the Thirty Day Challenge. Ed and Dan are 2 guys that give their heart and soul and I will definitely not unsubscribe to them.

I don't know maybe I am all wet. Maybe this is the way to make money on the internet.
