Darren Rowse has talked about this a number of times on his Problogger website and on Twitter etc. I used to think it was silly letting people click away from your website without opening a new window but his argument makes a lot of sense.
I won't go into all the details now 'cos it's 1.30am and I was planning an early night but do a search on problogger.com and you'll find it. Darren talks a lot of sense.Lisa

Yes...NO...
Really there is a time and a place to use both. It really depends on your the sales process you are doing at the time and where you are leading them. A Couple Of Tips: If you have a wheel mouse, click a link with the wheel "one click opens in new tab" Use Cooliris to view a link ***

Interesting thread
![]() I'd welcome thoughts re when it comes to clicking on the purchase link - do you recommend that opens in a new window, or replaces the previous page? I've tended to think the latter. I'm open to some proof (as in tested) re this. As for some of the other posts. I do also like to build a relationship with customers. And believe success in business is based on the strength of your relationship with your customer. As Brian Tracey often says: "People don't care about how much you know, they want to know how much you care". As a self made multimillionaire sales man - I believe he knows what he's talking about ![]() I am interested in Steve's comments too - as he has successfully created million dollar internet businesses - so the BIG end of IM. So does know what he's talking about when it comes to this industry. AND - for everyone (and anyone reading this) - please lets not get personal, or rubbish another's POV. Remember if you disagree - keep it at: "I disagree...." as opposed to "You are wrong, missing the point etc..." It's just rules of engagement 101 - fastest way to alienate someone is to do the 'you you you'. As ultimately it is our own opinion about something. Or our own emotional reaction - so own it, as opposed to projecting it - directly or passive aggressively. And then engaging back with that projection just inflames a situation and becomes about ego more than helping another. This forum is about helping others ![]() Caro
