Hi all Metro Washington DC peeps - I decided the best way to have a meet up was ... to have a meet up. I know everyone won't be able to make it but at least this is a start.
From 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4 Teaism, Dupont Circle (Conn. and R Sts, NW, 1.5 blocks NW of Dupont Circle Metro, North Exit) See you there! (I hope)

Sorry Shayne and anyone else planning to attend. I have to postpone due to a work "crisis" (ugh, day jobs, loooove working on sundays, don't you?)
This might work out better - give people more time anyway... how about next sunday august 10? would an am time work? I was thinking of it as a meet n greet. no real agenda except to meet each other, hear what our projects are and egg each other on. Open to ideas others have and don't need to lead. this just seemed like a non-team-team kinda thing. what do others think?

Washwords - you can create an 'actual' meet-up
go to Use the Internet to get off the Internet! - Meetup.com to set it up then you can invite people and it's probably more efficient than the forum (which is highly un-navegable) Also, in my experience, Skype is the best way to 'meet' virtually my skype is judyopp Hope to meet you and some others soon. I agree that you should set up a meetup and meetup.com. Sundays won't work for me; it's a family and church day.

Sorry folks, I really didn't mean to abandon but I'm finding the 30DC itself, coupled with work (two jobs) and some life changes (good ones!) a bit much, more than I thought on all fronts.
I know we all have lots going on and I totally admire the energy all the 30dcers particularly you IN DC metro area have shown. I am definitely continuing with the challenge (whoo hoo lesson four) but I'm finding for me it seems to be working best to use these forums, friend feed and facebook to network / have that team experience. I'd love to actually meet fellow DC'ers but... maybe someone else can take the lead on this? bats eyelashes. The other reason is that I think I have a slightly different schedule than many of you locally. Sunday's my best day for working on 30 DC and seems to be a lot of your WORST day. Anyway, I'd definitely like to keep in touch and am open to other ideas but I find I can't take responsibility for leading this time around. Do let me know how ELSE I can help, and/or feel free to share your ideas/ successes/frustrations with me... friendfeed/twitter is probably the best way. All the best to all of you. I can feel your energy and talents through cyberspace even if we never meet.... maybe an aug. 31 victory party at least???

Hi - I'm in Annapolis. I'm just starting the challenge (almost done pre-season). Would love to hear how things went for people and meet up online or in person.

Judy and MacShayne, can you please change your signatures to comply with the forum rules. One friendfeed link only and a quotation of your choice.
Thanks, Lisa
