If you don't have any previous experience with SEO i'd rather go even lower than 30k/80, if possible a niche that has about 10k competing pages and daily traffic about 60-80 as it will be way easier to rank high for it. Also do extensive analysis on backlinks of top 10 ranked pages, to see where they get their links (and steal some of them) and see how many of them are using anchor text for their backlinks. For category keywords, you can go even lower if you find any microniche like that, preferably also below 10k SEOC.

You can also do the stuff above 30k, i just suggest you pick an easy project for your first niche. Make it your "learning project" and get experience from it, learn new techniques, and then go for the harder niches, that might take more time to penetrate.

Hope this covered all of it

Is there any wiggle room if the 80, 30000, 15 numbers are a bit off? In other words, are the 80, 30000, and 15 (traffic, competition, and phrase to broad match ratio) evenly weighted? Is it ok if one of them doesn't meet the suggested levels? If so, which one? If I know a really tight microniche that I have a lot of interest in, and I type in that key word or phrase and it comes back with low traffic for example of 50 or so, or a higher than 30000 level of competition, like 36,700, do I stop immediately, or is there still an opportunity with one of these levels being a bit off, if the SEOC matrix checks out and looks promising? sorry it was a long post.

I have another overall question. This market is a niche that I already had in mind prior to the 30dc. My question is this: How do you approach the market samurai research when you already have a "microniche" as well as affiliate and personal products to sell already lined up? The way I've been doing it is I just come up with a key word that I think people would use when searching for any of the products that I have to sell, or I come up with an overall phrase that people may use when wanting the result that these products may provide (not knowing that they would want these products), and then I make sure that these key words meet the 80, 30000, 15 parameters. When they do, I then do a google search keywords and ensure there are other category key words that have the 80, 30000, 15 parameters, and if there are 3-4 then I have a key word that looks good, and so I then proceed to the SEOC matrix to assess the caliber of the competing top 10 websites, correct?

I see this market as able to be penetrated. I see the BLP column to be all green so that looks good and a lot of on page factors look favorable as well. However I'm still unclear as to the overall strength relevance of the domain age and Index count columns. I see the DA column to be quite strong and the IC column as well in this matrix. I think that if these two columns are surmountable then this market is easily able to be penetrated. Any insight as to the overall strength of these two columns as a rule?
The matrix is posted under boomshay in the post you replied to.

Hey Krivc. Thanks for the help on that other question. I posted another one on there but haven't gotten any responses from anyone. Do you mind if I post it in this message to you? How long have you been in the game of internet marketing? Just getting started? I am just getting started with affiliate marketing. Anyway, I'll send my question if you have time to check it out. Take care. Clinton
