![]() The thing is, if you have a site already about underwater otter wrestling you might follow the research stage and realise there just isn't enough interest in this area. It's a harsh fact but you would be better to stop flogging a dead horse (trying to make money out of a poor niche) and concentrate on something else. But, if you currently have a women's health site (not a good niche as you are up against some big players), doing your research will help you target areas within this topic that have considerable interest and less competition. You may decide that this is a business you want to continue with. The research aspect will help you to discover where you may have gone wrong in the past online, and whether you still have a viable business or if it's time to move on. Keep a very open mind. Nobody likes to hear that they have been wasting their time on something. But better that then continue with it for another few years and have it cost you more money than you make. Lisa x

Guys guys! I know it is difficult to rein in your enthusiasm but let's just work with the process and let the training teach rather than trying to pre-empt everything.
Many people are going to run off now and waste a lot of time doing stuff when at this stage all you need to be doing is downloading Flock, using it, getting used to the features, so that when Ed starts the hard yards you are prepared. Work SMART here. If you want to fly a plane you don't just jump in and have a go before the instructor has taken you through the basics. And this is just like learning to fly, there are many small components that you will need to have a grip on before you even leave the ground. Become an expert in everything that Ed has told you and clear your mind about anything you think may be coming.

Classic!
Both Cindy's 'scary' post - maybe it could be the next box office smash thriller?! ![]() And also how everyone is chomping at the bit. Which is to be expected. I'm like that too. And what I've learned - and I am still so appreciative of Ed's patience with me in my first year - is that all will be revealed in due course. In 2005 I was always asking 'what was next' - and the danger of that, is that you are not fully present with what's going on in that day. I think it was my fear of not succeeding - that maybe I'd 'miss' something and therefore the house of cards would fall down. Yet with Ed's gentle guidance to just 'stick with the program' and be patient paid off for me - so I feel I can now relay that credibly for others. Though am still liking the idea of an award winning scream movie made from Cindy's comment...lol Best to you all Caro

Chomping at the bit doesn't quite cover it! After the mad rush of information and searching I went thought before this (and probably some other people too) I almost feel like I'm wasting my time now. Before I might have been running in all the wrong directions but it still *FELT* like I was getting somewhere, now I just sit, and wait, (none to patiently I might add) but I think I will get farther in the long run so I am trying to relax. I still can't help but feeling that there's something more I should be doing, so I'm filling the time with making a list of everything I come into contact with that sounds like something I could relate to or is interesting. Now I don't know if any of these are niches, markets, niche markets or just junk, but it almost satisfies my need to do something.

@ Viragora,
That's a great idea! Ed will teach us all properly how to approach the Research part. AND For now - turn on your radar to ideas. As that is where people often have the greatest difficulty and loudest lament -'I can't come up with ideas' And EVERY conversation you have with ANYONE will hold a potential idea! SERIOUSLY oh I'm SHOUTING lol! ![]() And the main thing too is to have NO attachment to anything you think of. So jot them down - don't think them through - just jot them down without editing. And the 'crazier' at this stage the better - just to get you comfortable with letting your creative self flow. Also remember - this is PRE-Season - we haven't actually started the 30 Days - so enjoy the quiet before the....(no not storm...) ride of your life! ![]() Caro ![]() PS: This is NOT a lesson - they are to come courtesy of Ed & Dan. This is purely for those that feel they are drumming their fingers on the table...
