Default Awesome Day!

So I'm pumped up about the preseason starting tonight and the fact that I get to be the first to post here.

I have a question however...do most 30 day challengers use sites they already have, or start a new one for the challenge? Is there a rule for this?

I think the majority of people who do the Thirty Day Challenge are fairly new to this so they start something new. Others start something new even if they have their own sites for the challenge of seeing things through from the start.

But there are also those who have taken the teachings here and applied them to existing sites and done very well.

There's no right or wrong. This is about business building - whether existing or new.

You can start from absolutely nothing. Or you can take an existing site and use that.

Important, is, for this challenge to follow what is being taught.

This is how it was in the last challenges, and the ones that succeded were the ones following the system.

No rules, just experience.

I participated during the 1st and 2nd year, and both years
I spent my time applying the knowledge to new sites.

I did have existing sites, but it's fun to start from scratch some
times and just follow the processes from infancy and watch
the growth.

Just last month my girlfriend and I built a site that followed the
model laid out during the first year. It was really exciting to
build anew and relive the old strategies we had learned a few
years ago.

Good news too, the site is making some sales.

This year though, I may have her participate with her already
made site, and I'll pick one of my niches to apply the strategies
to as well.

If I wasn't so busy, I'd probably like to start from scratch again
though.

I did last years challenge from scratch, with new niches, etc, although post TDC I used what I had learnt on existing product I had, but hadn't actually started promoting at the time.

This product is now making decent profit, and I have spent the last 6 months promoting that, and therefore haven't gotten into any new niches!

Personally I will be looking for a new niche this year, rather than using my existing site, of course anything Dan and Ed teach here will be applied to my existing site!

Just to add that if you use an existing site make sure you still follow the research process. This is really important to learn. Even if you have an existing site you need to know the research stage - it can make or break things for you.
