I just joined 30DC yesterday and was browsing the Forum last night. Later, after installing Flock, I found the following information regarding nextday's issue with PDFs opening in IE rather than Flock (but couldn't remember where this particular post was to respond!):

Why Won't a PDF File Open in Flock?

First, make sure you have the latest version of Adobe (and Flock!) Then please open your Adobe Reader and go to the Edit menu. Choose Preferences and then the "Internet" tab on the left hand side. You should see "Display PDF in browser" please have this checked and hit OK. Adobe should take a couple seconds to configure and once this is done, please close Flock and re-start it.

If you are opening a PDF outside the browser, it will always open in Adobe Reader. The way that Flock's settings work is that if you go to a web page with a PDF file, it should open directly in the browser. In other words, "Display PDF in browser" only works for links to PDFs you encounter while browsing in Flock.
This information was found at: Flock Browser - FAQs | Flock

nextday's, does that help any at all?

Alas -- both of the last 2 suggestions have not helped at all.

I wonder if it has to do with running Adobe Reader that came installed on this computer, and nefarious Microsoft managed to narrow the possibilities.

I'll try downloading and re-installing Reader at some point.

But no urgency at the moment.

Thanks for the replies.

Default StumbleUpon

Is anyone else seeing the StumbleUpon toolbar fail to load into Flock because of an invalid file hash error?

Hendry's got it -- one of tips on what do to if something's not working in Flock. Check out the flock problem-solving thread.

And, if folks have more hints and suggestions -- bring 'em on.
It can only help us all.

Default Google global problems

I cannot make the Google Global plug in install. I downloaded all the rest of them and all is well. But not that one. I am expecting to see a large globe at the top of the browser like in Ed's video, right?

I have a PC, windows XP, and of course Flock.

Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

Susan

P.S. Could someone please tell me where the forum search bar is, I wanted to search for this information before posting, but I can't see the search bar. I know it is me, but this is silly, where is it!?

I just figured that out myself. reading your post I looked for it on my own tool bars and it wasn't there either. You have to add it through customizing the tool bars. right click on a blank area of a tool bar, click on customize, scroll down to see the Google Global icon and drag it to where you want it on the tool bar. I put it and the Stumble upon icon beside each other to the right of the Home icon.

You are a lifesaver!!! Thank you so much for both answers. I may be able to save a few of the hairs on my head now.
