Hi Elizabeth

Yes, you will need one password for the Dashboard/Training,
and one for the forum.

Also, what do you mean that your toolbar is in the strato. ?

Take a deep breath. You Will be fine.

You have an entire month of Pre-Season to get familiar
things.
Slow down and post your questions in detail.

Also, try the search function on the forum, as many
questions are probably answered. And it is Very healthy to
find and learn some basics on your own.
We are a helpful action-based Community, but for your own
sake, the growth from working some things out will be wonderful.
Ask whatever you can't find or don't understand.

And you're not illiterate needing intensive care!
You found us, logged in, posted, etc.

Repeat after me:

"I can do this. I can do this well!
I'm going to crush this Challenge!
One step at a time, I'm about to own some internet!"

You may want to consider using <a href="http://www.roboform.com">RoboForm</a> if you are overwhelmed by your usernames and passwords in multiple sites.

You will have one for Twiiter, Google Readers and others. Solve it, don't be offended by technology. It is there to help you. :-)

Flock also remembers your password for you - which is a super handy function.

Remember to pick the 'remember password' option - when you go into the forum and also when you go into the training. And it might pay to use the same password for both - as in this instance it's not about keeping your personal info super secure - it's just for access to a safe environment.

eliterate, I am so glad you spoke up! That alone is the reason I know you are going to be just fine. If you will just keep speaking up when you have questions, you are going to get all the intensive care you need. I think we all remember what it was like to be the new kid on the block and the best thread of hope I can extend is... Baby, we have all been there! If we could do this, you can do this. You will be able to tag along. Especially if you keep speaking up, find a supportive team, and keep trying every step of the process. I have complete faith in you!

No worries!! Take one pre-season lesson and watch the video and play around with what Ed is teaching. Then do another one. You have plenty of time to work on the pre-season training links before these guys really get rolling. And once they do roll, they give you information on a very manageable daily (usually) basis.

It's so much fun that after the first few days you will find yourself checking the training section HOURLY because you can't wait for the next lesson.

I can barely use a cell phone and my shoes have Velcro instead of laces -- so if I can do this, you can do it!!

Hi Elizabeth I did my first TDC last year and at first was also worried about all the passwords and signing in for so many different things. I found the best thing was to have the same name and password wherever possible so that I didn't have to keep track of too many. As Caro says, the passwords tend to be for gaining access/signing up to things rather than as a security measure. Also, the TDC forum members are incredible for sharing their time, knowledge and expertise and are always willing to help if you get stuck. And Ed teaches in such a clear and fun way that you're really going to enjoy it - one step at a time!

All the best

Tam

Oh I do want to qualify something

When it's a none super security issue - like access to this forum - you're not likely to attract hackers/spammers so the same password for training and access here can work.

When its something like Paypal, Adwords - something that involves a credit card - PLEASE have different passwords and make them difficult to guess.

Unfortunately I know of too many stories of people being hacked into - and it's awful for them - as literally the hackers steal from them.

I'd also suggest (and if these are terms you do not recognise - then no need to worry at this stage) for Squidoo and Hub you also pick different passwords - as I also know of stories of people being hacked there and having all their affiliate links changed to the hackers and being blocked out.

This is not to scare monger - it's more about being cautious.

I use different passwords for different entities just so that I am being careful. I'd encourage you to do the same.

Caro

Default Welcome to the zoo, Elizabeth

You'll do fine here.

Just take your time, breathe through your nose, enjoy the learning, continue to ask for help when you need it - you will come to appreciate the intelligence, wisdom and generosity of this community.

And if you can continue to churn out attention-grabbing headlines like
Help Help Hell Born Premature Understand Nothing
you'll soon have a devoted following.

Best of luck - Mack

Oh yeah - something practical: I use a simple spreadsheet to keep track of accounts, user names, passwords, etc. Google docs works fine. Lots easier than all the cryptic sticky notes that used to festoon my monitor...

i think what you were referring to are called "crackers", not "hackers" and there's a huge difference between these two groups of people...
