Hi Guys,

Lesson 9 - Google Subscribed Links is up.

I think this is pretty awesome myself.

Cheers,

Cool

I definitely see the potential ...

Any suggestions on how to make this work with Google Blogger (blogspot) feeds?

I get the following error:
"Feed data could not be read: No coop:keyword tags in RSS feed"

I've done research on help groups for Subcribed Links, Blogger, and Technorati, but it's still unclear where to add the xmlns:coop="http://www.google.com/coop/namespace tag.

Any help appreciated, since I'm sure a lot of us are using Blogger.

Pardon me guys,
But I am really lost in terms of how this would help... I subscribed and did searches for internet marketing and some other stuff that I thought that ed would have written on and didnt see any results that showed that it came from Ed.

Can you give me a real world application of this and how it would help with business?

Thanks in advance... the learning here is tremendous... Ed you da man baby!

@Mike

It gives you a top 10 (looks like position 5) search listing on ANY search term you specify. So if you get someone signs up to your subscribed google links for your expertise when they find you site, you can then make it so that everytime they search for something niche related you can put a link to whatever you want on the first page of the results, no matter how much competition there is for that phrase.

Holy Crap! Are you kidding.. Everytime they search my niche!

Now the question is... How to get subscribers?

Can we keep this a secret? I'd hate for my competition to find out about this.

Thumbs up Flabbergasting

Hi Ed,

Ok, that is one amazing piece of functionality, totally mind boggling of the opportunity and viralness (is that a word)

Now QUESTIONS

1. How do WE get one of those "Use Richards Advice" buttons like your one, i presume you are letting the cat out of the bag once we start the challenge for real.

2. Let's use your "trout fishing" example. So if I have a Trout Fishing blog and i write trout fishing articles which are listed in Google then when someone searches for "fly tying" then my listing will come up just as yours does for 30DC.

3. Where did you get the caricature from??

All the best

Richard

Ed will be teaching more on this.

It was first announced at Beechworth - and then on The Edge Blog.

Interesting some bright spark, girly swot bunny there has already worked it out and implemented it for their niche...I am floored just quietly.

Your questions will definitely be answered in time.

One thing Ed mention on the call was that you do set it for certain keywords.

And if you have a list - you just direct them to it - just like how Ed directed us to it via Twitter, YouTube etc - you'd just do the same for your niche.

I managed to get a button on my blog, and it all seems to work, but I haven't figured out how to get the image in the search results to change to my own icon. Anybody got that mastered yet?

Wendy

Default A silly question

I got the Google Web search button working on my website, Canvas Art Prints: Canvas Art Prints by Gerry Coe

Now maybe this is a daft question, but if the list of people who will see my site listed at number 4 in the google page are only the people who have visited my site or blog already, and have clicked the button. Then how do we get the new people to visit my site? Or is that a lesson for the future?

I am enjoying all this info immensely and look forward to new discoveries.

Gerry
